Understandable to have doubts over any apparition especially the way the vatican has handled them over the years . enough to make your head spin but one cant doubt the last message from akita just before covid in my opinion that completed convinced me Akita was true, Heaven warned us of the great evil of covid for sure.
I personally consider Akita a continuation of Fatima; in a way, what motivated Maria's apparation in 1917 was the communist revolution in Russia, while in 1973 it was the fact that the only power capable of defeating communism had legalized abortion, in addition to the apostasy in the Church, which is a link of denunciation between the two apparitions;IMO.
Akita, as Cardinal Ratzinger would say was 'essentially the same as Fatima'. Bishop Ito did give his approval , perhaps this approval didn't just involve Sr. Sasagawa but included her spiritual director as well. +Ito would he have to disclose everything? And would this 'new discovery' make this 'essentially the same apparition as Fatima' vision discounted in toto? Don't proponents of Medjugorje say the same thing, that his 40+ year messaging is the same and/or continuation of Fatima as well? Garabandal adherents too?
Thank you, Dave, for quoting the message of the current Bishop. It's reassuring. Nevertheless, I still have lingering doubts that the approval may have been obtained by deception. Perhaps the Bishop was aware of the prophecy quoted in the book. If so, I suppose that he could have told Sr. Sasagawa not to speak about it. If he had given her that instruction, it would explain why she never mentioned it. But if that were the case, wouldn't it have been an act of defiance for the priest to have recorded it in his book? How, then, could a disobedient priest be considered to have died in an aura of sanctity? The whole thing doesn't add up. A proper translation of the priest's book is necessary. As far as I know, everything about an apparition is examined before Church approval is granted. Any prophecy would be an important part of that examination especially one concerning a Judas Pope. I have a vague memory of reading that demons can inflict an illness or symptoms of an illness so they can appear to cure it later. I don't know whether a malignant tumour would be in that category of illness. I don't think it's beyond a demon's ability to make a statue appear to weep human tears. Appearance of the stigmata also isn't failsafe proof of a heavenly act. I'm sorry to be such a Debbie Downer but the bottom line for me is whether or not the Bishop was fully aware of the alleged prophecy. For all I know, Fr. Elias Mary could be a very holy man but to say that I was less than impressed by him would be an understatement. Perhaps that's down to some fault of mine that I'm recognising in or projecting on to Fr. Elias Mary.
The thing is, if it all had been examined as it should have been, the controversy would/should have ended immediately. If Bishop Ito knew all when he gave his approval, there really should be no controversy. But we'll never likely be told now what was what at that time. Add to that, everyone's "baloney" detector has been set to maximum since the release of the Third Secret of Fatima. Our Lady of All Nations is also confusing for the same reasons.....Approved then not approved but devotion is fine...it just goes on and on. God love Sister Sasagawa. She herself as far as I know has been obedient; her suffering must be great......
I appreciate that. It's just that for me, everything hinges on whether the Bishop was deceived. Satan can be very cunning. I'm sure he knows the whereabouts of every laboratory in the world, every gain of function programme and the character and plans/schemes of every person involved. We hear lots about the harm that can come from freemasons inside the Church. I think that Masons outside the Church can cause as much or more harm by sowing doubt in the minds of Catholics leading then to harbour suspicions against lawful authority. It's about 50 years since Sr. Sasagawa received the original messages. I dou't believe that God would want Catholics to spend 50 years or more speculating on whether each new Pope is another Judas or the AntiChrist. Talk of an AC Pope sounds very Protestant to me and contrary to Our Lady's track record of encouraging obedience to our religious superiors. I must stress here that I believe that Sr. Sasagawa was a very devout and holy nun. Even the most devout can be deceived.
I’m confused. If the ‘last pope’ is going to betray Jesus, and people are looking at the current one as perhaps fitting the bill, what of the future ‘holy pope’ who unites with the great monarch to save Christendom? If the hidden prophecy is true then Francis can’t be the Judas pope, surely? One can do a bit of smoke and mirrors by saying that the prophecy refers to the last pope of a particular era, not the last and final pope of all time. But I’m still scratching my head as one who accepted Akita as genuine.
Akita is not the product of a "false prophet." The "false prophets" are wicked. God describes how those people think and why they think the way they do in the following passage from the Book of Wisdom. Father Yasuda's testimony to Bishop Ito was instrumental in his giving approval to the apparitions. Father Yasuda died at the age of 97 in November 2013 in what some say was the odor of sanctity. An excerpt of the book has recently been reported...it came in a talk where Father Yasuda was talking about the sign left by the Son, he said:" Judas and the last pope are to sell Jesus to the enemy, therefore the era of antichrist pope will soon come. So sad about this is Sister Agnes is even staying outside of catholic.convent. Blessed are those who taking care of her now . Not to mention there is plenty of cancel priests who need to be taken care also. The church is rotten from the top to the bottom.
Regardless of the truth of Akita, and I still tend to favour it myself (not that this means much), we have had enough of warnings throughout the centuries. The state of the world has turned out just as predicted. We should not be surprised that the predicted consequences follow.
Hi Whatever, Apparently the second book of Fr Yasuda was comprised of his homilies and talks, and remains untranslated from Japanese to English. We know the messages Our Lady of Akita gave the world were conveyed, however maybe Sr Agnes asked additional questions and received messages that were not part of the message for the world, and she may have spoken about them to her confessor Fr Yasuda. Additionally we do not know who the last pope will be! There may be 10 more popes after Francis or 510 more popes. Or possibly zero. The approved apparition of La Salette also says similar things.
I was unaware that the seer Melanie of La Salette suffered from the stigmata for many years in her later life, found this out recently. It was from a credible source but I can't remember who. The apparitions were and are approved but we Catholics were told that Melanie lost her marbles in later life and could not be trusted. I accepted it too although I confess to never having liked that particular statue. Well, if the prophecy about the Pope wasn't meant for the world it casts further doubt on Fr. Yasuda having died in the odour of sanctity - a term often used to suggest that the deceased person is already a saint. And who dares question the veracity of the words of a saint? Also, if the alleged prophecy was received after the Bishop's approval, then it is an unapproved private revelation which is no more reliable than any other of the possibly thousands of unapproved private revelations in Church history. The rest of the messages of Akita - the ones Sr. Sasagawa relayed to the Bishop and the world - are similar to previous messages from Heaven and are fully compliant with accepted Church teaching. People make a big deal about the "Bishop against Bishop" part of the prophecy. Even a cursory glance at Church history will show that we have had Bishops against Bishops since the earliest days of the Church. Didn't someone say not long ago that the only time the Apostles acted in unison was when they all fled from the Garden of Gethsemane? Yes, there could be hundreds of future Popes. Are we Catholics now to question every future Pope in case he's the one Akita warned against? That doesn't sound to me like it came from the Blessed Virgin.
I believe in Akita. This last thing totally makes me think of Malachi Martin and what he said about the 3rd secret. God's timing is perfect.
I disagree with every word whatever has written on this thread. We have been told in the catechism that before Christ's return, there will be a great apostasy. We are living through it, no matter how much people do not want to actually accept it.
