Did Fr. Malachi Martin hint at the real third secret of Fatima?

my english is too limited to make long posts; but I have a theory that the text spoke of a weapon of mind control/deterioration that was going to be used against the West; this is based on Suzane Pearson's 2013 lecture *(about a new form of energy that would be used for destruction) and Sister Lucia's statement that the content covered Revelation 8-13 (the mark of the beast is a form of mind control ); I think that the vulnerability of the West that malachi martin spoke about could be related to a possible electromagnetic weapon from Russia that attacks people's minds.

Excerpts from an Art Bell Talk Show - 1998

Art Bell: "Not long ago, someone sent me what they said was the third secret of Fatima. You have read the third secret?"

Malachi Martin: "Early A.M., February 1960 - before I read it I had to take a vow not to reveal it. It would be a shock, no doubt, some would become very angry."

A.B.: (addressing his radio audience) "E-mail it to me, post haste, please, I've lost it! I've lost it. On March 14, 1998, I read it over the air - it's alleged to be the 3rd secret." (Someone in the radio audience sent it, and he reads the alleged 3rd secret which appeared in 1963 in the German newspaper, Neues Europa).

[1] M.M.: "It is not the text given to me to read in 1960. There are elements in it that belong in the text of the 3rd secret - that's the most measured response I could give to it. The real 3rd secret is much more traumatic than what you've just read. The central element is awful - it's not in what you've just read."

A.B.: -"Should it be revealed?"

[2] M.M.: "I'm one small man but I have no authority to do that. I can't make that decision... It would have such dire effects, on much more than Christians. The Cardinal who showed it to me had been present at a meeting with Pope John XXIII to outline to a certain number of Cardinals what should be done with the secret. He, John XXIII, thought it would ruin his ongoing negotiations with Khrushchev and the Kremlin.

Also, he had a different outlook on life, which two years later he echoed very succinctly, and almost contemptuous. On October 11, 1962, at the opening of Vatican II at St. Peter's, he derided most contemptuously the people who he called 'the prophets of doom,' and there was no doubt in our minds that he was talking about the prophecy of Fatima. He was against that. What is in the secret is more horrible than what you've just read: essentially, the onslaught of natural powers...terrible catastrophes, chastisements, and that's not the essence of the 3rd secret; it’s not the frightening one."

A.B.: "I understand, it would be such a shock."

[3] M.M.: "I have no authority, no angel has tapped me on the shoulder, I may be putting my foot in my mouth... Besides, it's a question of shock, of frightening people, of polarizing society. I can't do that... this will fill up the confessionals on Saturday evening. It will fill up the churches with worshippers striking their breasts."

I may be overly cynical, but it seems to me that, looking at many of the goings-on in this present world, the Russians released this weapon quite some time before the reported dates. Far more seriously than suffering headaches and the like, the world has been going mad since at least the turn of the century.

 

Possibly. This may be a bit off-topic. One think I quite liked when I first encountered this forum was the tolerance of off-topic comments. Let the Holy Spirit blow where He wills, as it were.

Fr. Ripperger offered another interpretation in his series of talks on the 'State of the World & Church the Church: what can we do?'. I think it is on his website http://sensusfidelium.tv/ . He says that all Graces from God come to the world through the Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church. If the Church is mired in error and sin then these graces are blocked and begin to slow to a trickle and as a result the world begins to descend into madness.

 

Malachi Martin one time used a wonderful descriptive phrase which has stuck in my memory. He spoke of, 'Grace draining from the world'.

The Jews have a wonderful legend (mentioned in the Talmud) of the Tzadikim Nistarim; the 36 righteous people who by perfectly observing the law hold the whole world in their hands. They hold back the hand of God so to speak.

Catholic mystics have indicated that their are a certain number of Victim Souls who offer themselves up to appease the Wrath of God ..as St Paul said:

Colossians 1:24:

“Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church.

This idea of Victim Souls seems very similiar to that of the Tzadikim Nistarim.
Notice that the Rabbi says that there are no apparent Tzadikim in the world today.

This is very like what Catholic Mystics have said that there are not enough Victim Souls in the World today.

 

We need to all keep offering what we can in the meantime. And there's so much at this time offer up..

 

Our Lady uses a very good analogy in many of her messages. She speaks of a Chalice, 'Filling up'.

The Chalice is the World. What is it filling up with? The sins of men. When it fills up to overflowing it tips the scales of Mercy and Justice. So the scales tip and point to Justice. So we can see as Our Blessed Lady indicates that there is a certain, 'Tipping point', which we appear to have reached.

Psalm 85:10

Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed.

Yes. I remember him saying that.

Yes, he did. Many times. Including in his own books. That's all he could do really, give hints. He revealed that it refers to mass apostasy, beginning at the top of the hierarchy. He also revealed that the conversion of Russia would begin in Kiev (Ukraine).

He also tied it with the messages/revelations made in La Salette, Garabandal and Akita.

He also predicted, down to very particular details, the papal "resignation" that eventually happened with Benedict XVI. I don't know if it comes from the secret, but it's too much of a coincidence for it to be just a wild guess.

People often refer to his Art Bell interviews, but his best interviews are with Bernard Janzen. There's no nonsense in those.

I think I've posted this elsewhere, but if this is not a reference to the COVID pandemic, I don't know what is:



"Suppose I'd tell you that Florida was going to float away. And that there was going to be three days of darkness. And that one whole nation would be wiped out, completely wiped out. Yikes. Whew. Sounds like he is telling us without telling us.

 

That's not a cure though, just a remedy. The proper remedy, but still just a remedy. Like there's no cure for the common flu, only remedies.

 

Regarding Father Martin's reference to apostasy, I recently discovered that Pius XII was consecrated a Bishop on 13th May, 2017, which was of course the date of Our Lady's first apparition in Fatima. Furthermore, then Bishop Pacelli later witnessed the Miracle of the Sun in the Vatican Gardens and received one particular horrific message...Apostasy.

 

Yes. Our Lady of Revelation gave her messages directly to Pius XII. There are no coincidences.

[My post applies to Fatima in general and Victim Souls as opposed to specifically the 3rd Secret.]

Saints Jacinta and Francisco of Fatima are two great examples of Victim Souls, as most are aware. Jesus Christ Our Lord, being both Priest and Victim, could perhaps be regarded as the Prototype Victim Soul in His Redemptive Suffering, Passion and Death. Mary His Mother, Our Lady of Sorrows, also mirrored her Son's sufferings as Co-Redemptorix (although this is not proclaimed as a Dogma. Perhaps it will?). I suppose many of the noble Prophets and all of the white-robed Martyrs were Victim Souls too.

Concerning Saints Jacinta and Francisco (and Lucia), right from the get-go the concept of voluntary sacrifice or victimhood began to be elaborated to them. In Lucia's garden in the summer of 1916, an angel suddenly appeared to them:

"'What are you doing?' he exclaimed in a tone of gentle admonition, 'you must pray. You must pray a great deal. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy on you. Offer up prayers and sacrifices constantly to the Most High.' Lucia asked him how they were to make sacrifices and the angel answered: 'Make everything you do a sacrifice and offer it to God in reparation for the countless sins by which He is offended and in supplication for the conversion of sinners. In this way you will bring peace to your country. I am the Guardian Angel of Portugal. Above all, accept and bear with submission all the sufferings which the Lord may send you.' ....as Lucia wrote many years later. 'The value of sacrifice now, for the first time, became clear to us. Suddenly we knew its appeal to God and its power to convert sinners. From that day on we began to offer to God all that mortified us, all that was difficult or unpleasant. And we also spent hour after hour, prostrate upon the ground, repeating the angel's prayer over and over again.'"

After telling the Shepherd children that one of the local girls who had died was already in Heaven, while another was "in Purgatory until the end of the world", Our Lady of Fatima then asked: "Would you like to offer yourselves to God, to accept all the sufferings which He may send you in reparation for the countless sins by which He is offended and in supplication for the conversion of sinners?"

"Lucia consented, speaking for all three. The Lady nodded her approval and said: 'Then you will have much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your comfort.'"

…my perhaps naive question has always been, what on Earth did a child do that would land her in purgatory until the end of time?? And, of course, I’ve always understood that once passed from this world, time no longer exists as we know it. So then I wonder, what does “until the end of time” constitute, when in purgatory? I suppose these remain rhetorical questions, as I don’t know that there’s an answer to them.
