It is difficult to make a general statement of a moral perpective of an entire region or Nation for goodness knows we can find it difficult enough to such a take on indivduals alone. But my take on Russia would be that in fact it is in a far greater state of marla decline even than the West.

We can get a whole range of statistical indicators on this. But no I don't believe this is a Nation that has converted. No. Far from it.

Another for instance; alcholism is endemic. This is a Nation that is , quite literally , drinking itself to death.

It’s difficult to overstate how serious Russia’s alcohol problem is.


More than 30% of all deaths in Russia in 2012 were attributable to alcohol, according to WHO data crunched by the OECD. That’s by far the highest among the nations it tracked.

Russian drinkers die a variety of deaths. Alcohol poisoning. Cirrhosis. Accidents. Suicide.

The result? Russians live some of the shortest lives in any large economy. Life expectancy for a Russian man was roughly 65 years in 2012, compared to 76 years for the US and 74 for China.

Part of the reason is cultural. Hard drinking has long been a Russian habit. A paper published in 2013 found that relatively high levels of alcohol-related deaths can be found in Russian data going back to the late 19th century.

I for one don't believe that the consecration was acceptable to heaven. And I'm convinced there was an impostor Sr Lucy. She looked so very different from the real Sr Lucy.

 

Russia has always been notorious for drinking. It is part of their culture. They abuse alcohol no doubt, but what about the drug epidemic in the U.S.? Every country has its bad habits. Now NATO is pushing for a war with Russia, thanks to Obama and the Neo-cons. There isn't a time in history where these Neo-cons want peace. Now that is evil. This is what Christians should be vocalizing against. It is not okay to antagonize Russia and put missiles on their border because their people drink too much. It is not okay for the USA to flex their muscles against Russia because they want to control the oil in that part of the world. I'm all for business, but not an outright takeover that's called communism. Russia is a sovereign country and they will protect their interests. If Europe does not hold back NATO, it will not survive what's coming. When the USA begins a war, they destroy everyone and everything without a flinch. Look at the Middle East. Be careful what you wish for.

The heroes of my youth were Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King. Turns out that they both were serial adulterers as was JFK and for all we know many heroes of the past could have been just as unfaithful to their wives. Jesus was the only perfect man ever to walk the earth. Unfortunately Jesus isn't running for President of either the US or Russia so people have to choose between very flawed individuals.

There are no good guys any more. Russia, the US (NATO) and China are all controlled by people none of us would welcome home for tea. Putin is not the aggressor in this tussle between Russia and NATO. NATO keeps pushing against him and we can only hope that he won't snap because although NATO would likely be the eventual winner of any war, the death and destruction would be horrifying. If China were to line up with Russia against NATO, we really would have a world war. We don't really know what the globalist elite are plotting. With China flexing its muscles, perhaps NATO envisages a war with China some time in the future and wants to get Russia out of the way first. Israel, Saudi and the other Sunni states would want a war with Russia because that would weaken the influence of the Shi-ite states in the Middle East. They don't care how many lives are lost so long as their little empires are protected. So we have officially secular NATO and Russia siding with countries in the Middle East that openly practice religious discrimination with very few of any of them embracing secular democracy as we have been taught to understand it.

What I have seen confirmed by Trump's bid for the US presidency is that the US has essentially been governed by a small group of people for years. They just happened to be spread across the two political parties with the supposed free press turning a blind eye to it. So much for freedom and democracy.

Who knows where all this will end. All I know is that I have more in common with the average Orthodox Russian than with the average Muslim Arab.

 

It is all very like George Orwells book , '1984'. He suggested the world would turn into two or three power blocs who would vie with each to control the world. This is pretty well what has happened. There are no good gurs or bad guys as far as this is concerned.

Well, Byron, the above highlights sound like Putin's logic. Amazing that what you wrote in 2016, becomes a catalyst to wage war in 2022. The present struggle in the Ukraine might achieve a truce, but it will be brief, if the prophecies of Garabandal are true. I believe today the Freemasons of the West want to extend their power. Russia and China threaten them. This doesn't mean I'm in agreement with Putin's war; it is satan pulling levers! The answer: prayer and fasting! Lent is on the way!
