I have a question that hope some may have experienced with and can provide advice. My doctor is recommending that my wife and I get the Shingle vaccine because of our ages. Does anyone know of how these are manufactured? Specifically, wondering g if they are made with aborted cell lines? Or if a particular manufacturer is preferred?

And are there any side effects ? We have heard people who gotten the shingles and it sounds awful. So, we are trying to figure thus out and seeking to hear from others. Thanks

I am in the same fix. My MD wants me to get it. I looked up shingrix-- the one currently being offered. No aborted cell lines. It is two shots and can make you ill apparently. I have held off up til now. Not quite sure what to do.

Lots of the people on my PMR group got PMR after they had the shingles shot, or the covid vacc, or the new flu shot. I had the old one ten years ago, I won't get the new updated shingrix. The PMR I have is extremely painful. I had covid and I think that triggered PMR.

I won't take the shingles vax because I never had chicken pox. But I read or heard somewhere that I could catch shingles from someone with chicken pox. Do you know if that's true? My memory isn't great so I could have it back to front.

I am currently accepting no vaccines. First, official statistics should be published regarding the 'Covid-vaccines', comparing the mortality of the vaccinated vs. unvaccinated.

I'll just chime in that I actually had shingles two years ago, and it really wasn't terrible. Some comfort in case you decide not to get the shot. I'd only ever heard from people who said it's the worst thing ever.

I had shingles a few years ago. Depending on where you get them can determine the severity. Not nice by any means though. I got them on my forehead and they left a scar much like a knife wound near my eye, kinda attractive to some people and makes me look meaner than I am... I think

  11. Will these doctors get a "bonus" from the pharmaceuticals if ever they meet their sales quota for the area?

When my mom was battling cancer, she got shingles. She said the shingles was worse than the cancer. Nonetheless, I would not consider getting the shingles vaccine.

Had them about ten years ago. By chance I had a dr appt so it was diagnosed early. My dr prescribed meds (can't remember what) that were able to mitigate the pain, explaining they worked if it's diagnosed within 72 hours of showing up. Something else to check into as opposed to a vax. The stabbing flames of pain are at the onset are, shall we say, noticeable, lol

PMR is polymyalgia rheumatica. It’s an autoimmune disease that usually affects Irish and English people in their 60’s and 70’s. It’s extremely painful and lasts from one to five years. The only relief is prednisone and that has side effects. It’s so painful you feel like someone beat you with a baseball bat or have been hit by a bus. It affects muscles in the upper body and upper legs. You can’t get out of bed. GCA affects ten percent of those with PMR. You can go blind with GCA. It’s part of the rheumatoid factor that can show up in your blood. It was given to us by the Vikings and went into our gene pool. In the old days it might have been referred to as rheumatism. I never heard of it til I got it. I finally quit prednisone after being on it for over a year and am having withdrawal from it. They say it takes three months to get over the withdrawal. I don’t want to go on and on about it but feel like I lost a year of my life. Some days are so bad I ask God to just let me die and get it over with. My Dad had it in the 1970’s and he went down to 145 lbs. there wasn’t a diagnosis for it then so he suffered for three years. It comes on mysteriously and goes away mysteriously almost like a bio weapon. It’s totally debilitating and most people have a hard time getting diagnosed. There are 16000 people on my fb group from all over the world and we share our stories. Most of them live in Ireland, England, the US and Australia. Mine started three months after I had covid. Many of them came down wit it after having the covid jab, the shingles jab, and the flu jab Younger people are getting it now as young as 30 and docs are not believing they have it. Google PMR and you will learn about it. God help us.

My late mother suffered from PMR and she was full blooded Romanian. She had it in her 70s. Rip Mom.
