"In Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved": The phrase most clearly implies that a day will come when other nations will suffer from a crisis of faith, a critical collapse of the faith - apostacy: It has come --- Germany Flanders Where next? We are living through the 3rd secret of Fatima.
Makes me wonder what and how Portugal will do to preserve the dogma.. very interesting times and I agree we're living the third secret of Fatima!
perhaps this refers to the predicted annihilation of nations at Fatima, Portugal would be spared this while many nations would have no chance of conversion because they would be wiped off the face of the earth (perhaps swallowed up by the sea).
I remember reading a quote from Sister LĂșcia that in Portugal there would always be a humble remnant but I couldn't find her; as one of the hallmarks of the Church is its universality I think this can refer to the Portuguese nation existing uninterruptedly.
From what I was reading on a book concerning the Prophecies of mostly French Mystics recently: France will be invaded by forces from both Russia aided by Islamic Armies and Islamic immigrants within and will take over most of the country for a long time before being seen off by the Great Monarch. He also mentioned that Spain would be invaded by Islamic forces one again who at first will appear to do very well for a while before Spanish Forces rally and like France throw them our. I assume then that since Portugal is on Spain's Western flank and there are no Prophecies I have ever read that that country would be attacked she will be safe from such horrors. This too would be in line with Fatima. It seems to me that the countries which will be worse hit will be those that most give themselves most up to sinful lifestyles and heresy. Which would explain very well that Prophesy indicates that a country such as Germany will be pretty well wiped out. Also the Lowlands and of course France and Italy will be very hard hit.
Some of the events in Prophecy are world wide and will effect all Nations in the World, since all are under the Wrath of God and no Nation is Guiltless and these events will of course effect countries such as Portugal. One such is the Prophecied World Wide Earthquake which I believe is also mentioned in the Book of the Apocalypse. This will of course result in massive Tsuanami's and since Portugal faces the Atlantic this would leave her very vulnerable. I notice looking at a map that Fatima is on much higher ground which might keep her safe. Some countries seem to be about to suffer more from physical Chastisement more than Wars. Portugal seems to be one such. It depends basically on how bad they have been, I think. Some Nations are pretty well rotten to the very core. The words of Jesus ring so true. "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted?" Mt 5.13 This can be taken as a reference to the Church it's self. When the slat turns bad as Jesus said, it is fit for nothing but to be dumped. Which is what is just about to happen to it. So in a country like Portugal, if we are to foresee what is about to occur we have only to look to her Bishops and ask the question of how many of them now are heretics?
The errors that I see everywhere else I also see in Portugal. It's a mystery to me what Our Lady meant by the dogma of the faith being preserved in Portugal.
I believe the prophecy refers to an event that will take place in Portugal (likely at Fatima). Pope Benedict XVI will call the few bishops holding to the "authentic Magisterium" together for an ecumenical council to "anathematize" the errors that will come out of the Synod on Synodality process. With this ecumenical council, the current de facto schism will be formalized and the "dogma of the faith will be preserved." Here is the relevant passage, from the Book of Isaiah, that I believe refers to this event: [17] And the light of Israel shall be as a fire, and the Holy One thereof as a flame: and his thorns and his briers shall be set on fire, and shall be devoured in one day. Et erit lumen Israel in igne, et Sanctus ejus in flamma; et succendetur, et devorabitur spina ejus et vepres in die una. [18] And the glory of his forest, and of his beautiful hill, shall be consumed from the soul even to the flesh, and he shall run away through fear. Et gloria saltus ejus, et carmeli ejus, ab anima usque ad carnem consumetur; et erit terrore profugus. [19] And they that remain of the trees [the bishops] of his forest [the Church] shall be so few, that they shall easily be numbered, and a child shall write them down. Et reliquiae ligni saltus ejus prae paucitate numerabuntur, et puer scribet eos. [20] And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and they that shall escape of the house of Jacob, shall lean no more upon him that striketh them: but they shall lean upon the Lord the Holy One of Israel, in truth. Et erit in die illa : non adjiciet residuum Israel, et hi qui fugerint de domo Jacob, inniti super eo qui percutit eos; sed innitetur super Dominum, Sanctum Israel, in veritate. [21] The remnant shall be converted, the remnant, I say, of Jacob, to the mighty God. Reliquiae convertentur; reliquiae, inquam, Jacob ad Deum fortem. [22] For if thy people, O Israel, shall be as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them shall be converted, the consumption [consummation] abridged [extracted] shall overflow with justice. Si enim fuerit populus tuus, Israel, quasi arena maris, reliquiae convertentur ex eo; consummatio abbreviata inundabit justitiam. [23] For the Lord God of hosts shall make a consumption [consummation], and an abridgment [extraction] in the midst of all the land. Consummationem enim et abbreviationem Dominus Deus exercituum faciet in medio omnis terrae.
I wonder if an, 'error' , might not be the same as a , 'Dogma'. It is horrific to think that they might try and change Formal Church Dogma. The rocks on which the Church rests. https://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05089a.htm
Sure, they aren't mutually exclusive. A country might be infected with errors yet still have people who will keep and follow the dogma of the faith. Then again, the battle for the dogma of the faith may not have started yet. I thought it did.
Perhaps Our Lady was referring to the key Dogma's of the Faith. Such as say: The Divinity of Jesus. The Resurrection. The Blessed Trinity and so on. The kind of things we hear in the Creed. I don't think think they have gotten round to attacking these yet, though I suppose they will the way things are they'll hit them, sooner or later.. Perhaps it is this which Our Lady meant. Often times when I hear the Creed sung in Church, tears fill my eyes. They have not started hacking away at these yet. At least not openly. But it's only a matter of time. Once a train goes off the tracks it could wind up anywhere.
It is. Those who song, pray twice. I look forward to the Eternal song in heaven. Perhaps some good angel up there will instruct me how. I look forward to meeting the greatest composers, artists, poets and writers ever born, Most of who, I suspect, never became know on Earth. It would be wonderful to learn how to play the Classical guitar. Also how to play Chess right. Maybe how to play baseball. Learn how to get dogs to do what I tell them, understand cats....and many other things. Eternity awaits.
I've played the guitar since the mid 80's, I am a metal head lol, but Ave Maria is actually much harder (at least for me) than one would think. The fingering/hand position for the base chords are somewhat difficult to contort one's hand into position. Still, nothing fires me up like a really good rendition of it. The music director at our local cathedral St. Marys, he has a very booming operatic voice. He's extremely talented. Anyway, on August 15, Feast of the Assumption, at the evening mass, He sang Ave Maria and it was like the veil to Heaven was parted like a curtain. I stood there simply in awe.
Heaven we are told is fill of song. The angels are made for it. It is a great consolation to me that while I could never sing on Earth, with God's Holy Grace I might sing in heaven...at least in a way that folks might listen. ..at least without screaming.
I'm reminded of Padre Pio's advice for our times. He knew what was to come, so it's not strange that he chose to stress a very specific point:
