St. Louis De Montfort's Prayer to Jesus

O most loving Jesus, deign to let me pour forth my gratitude before Thee, for the grace Thou hast bestowed upon me in giving me to Thy holy Mother through the devotion of Holy Bondage, that she may be my advocate in the presence of Thy majesty and my support in my extreme misery. Alas, 0 Lord! I am so wretched that without this dear Mother I should be certainly lost. Yes, Mary is necessary for me at Thy side and everywhere: that she may appease Thy just wrath, because I have so often offended Thee; that she may save me from the eternal punishment of Thy justice, which I deserve; that she may contemplate Thee, speak to Thee, pray to Thee, approach Thee and please Thee; that she may help me to save my soul and the souls of others; in short, Mary is necessary for me that I may always do Thy holy will and seek Thy greater glory in all things. Ah, would that I could proclaim throughout the whole world the mercy that Thou hast shown to me! Would that everyone might know I should be already damned, were it not for Mary! Would that I might offer worthy thanksgiving for so great a blessing! Mary is in me. Oh, what a treasure! Oh, what a consolation! And shall I not be entirely hers'? Oh, what ingratitude! My dear Saviour, send me death rather than such a calamity, for I would rather die than live without belonging entirely to Mary. With St. John the Evangelist at the foot of the Cross, I have taken her a thousand times for my own and as many times have given myself to her; but if I have not yet done it as Thou, dear Jesus, dost wish, I now renew this offering as Thou dost desire me to renew it. And if Thou seest in my soul or my body anything that does not belong to this august princess, I pray Thee to take it and cast it far from me, for whatever in me does not belong to Mary is unworthy of Thee. O Holy Spirit, grant me all these graces. Plant in my soul the Tree of true Life, which is Mary; cultivate it and tend it so that it may grow and blossom and bring forth the fruit of life in abundance. 0 Holy Spirit, give me great devotion to Mary, Thy faithful spouse; give me great confidence in her maternal heart and an abiding refuge in her mercy, so that by her Thou mayest truly form in me Jesus Christ, great and mighty, unto the fullness of His perfect age. Amen.

    0 Jesus Living in Mary

    O Jesus living in Mary,
Come and live in Thy servants,
In the spirit of Thy holiness,
In the fullness of Thy might,
In the truth of Thy virtues,
In the perfection of Thy ways,
    In the communion of Thy mysteries;
    Subdue every hostile power
In Thy spirit, for the glory of the Father. Amen.

Just a reminder today is day 7 of week I.

The reading for these days are on page 4 of the Consecration thread.

At last, have completed Week 3, Day 7. Ready to make the Consecration to Jesus through Mary tomorrow 8th December.

God willing I can offer the special grace (special grace to be requested between 12 noon and 1pm 8th December) in petition to Blessed Mother in honour of her Immaculate Conception, for the 8th amendment in the Irish Constitution to be Consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. My hope and prayer is that abortion will be kept out of Ireland banished like the snakes at the prayer of our good Saint Patrick. :D

    Congratulations Julia! (y)
You won't regret it. Our Lady truly looks after those dedicated to her in this special way.
My conversion has had it's shaky moments coming from living an un-Christian life for so long, honestly it has felt at times like Our Lady is dragging me along rather than me actively participating, but that just goes to show how powerful this form of devotion is.

Yes Praetorian. So true. She doesn’t let go of us. I don’t trust myself at all. But I do rely on her to get me safely home. I figure she got St John to the foot of the cross when the rest of them ran for cover.

Just to remind those who are hoping to renew or Prepare for the first time, the 33 days preparation for Consecration to Jesus through Immaculate Heart of Mary. Today the 20th February I believe is day I. The prayers for first twelve days are on page one of this thread.

And for your convenience, the first 12 days take us from February 20th to March 3rd inclusive. Keep Watch and Pray.

Having completed the first 12 days of the Preparation for Consecration, we now start with Week 1 day 1 of the final three weeks ready for Consecration on 26th March. I do hope there are a few others on this precious Preparation, especially having started to read In Sinu Jesu, where Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through Immaculate Heart of Mary seems to be something greatly desired by Jesus. Praised be Jesus and Mary.

I should have used the date 25th March for Consecration not 26th as stated. Sorry by the time I noticed my type error, the edit option was closed...

Shae, I hope you made it to the final Preparation Day. So there are at least two of us who have run the race to the finish as St Paul once said, fighting the good fight and all that jazz.

We can Keep Watch and Pray, while the rest of the world goes to hell in a hand basket if that is how it has to be. We can stand before our God and honestly say we did the best we could in Consecrating ourselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We do so utterly rely on the Grace of God in order to fulfil our mission here in exile. And only God knows what that mission consists of when all the chips are down.

We can go forward armed to the teeth in the Spiritual Warfare that has all but annihilated the Spiritual life of the world around us. With the Rosary and the Scapula we remain armed and dangerous to the enemy. Praise God.

Gorgeous. I will pray this often.

My own prayers are sometimes awkward, so I am relying on beautifully wrought prayers such as this.

    DS7,
I'm so glad St. Louis' prayers touch your heart! Such traditional, previously composed prayers are beautiful and inspiring because they touch all the bases. They should be prayed with focused attention. The danger, however, is that they can be rattled off without engaging our mind, imagination, or heart. The devil will majorly try to distract us, for instance, in praying the Rosary. A mechanically recited Rosary might not penetrate our hearts too deeply so as to bear fruit, though even the attempt pleases Our Lady's Immaculate Heart! For instance, I always pray the Anima Christi prayer after receiving Holy Communion, but I also frequently pray quietly in tongues at that time, too.

On the other hand, a heartfelt prayer arising spontaneously from our inner depths is very pleasing to the Lord and immediately "grabs His attention!" A number of the Psalms were composed through such means. Example:

Ps 69: 1 Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold;:barefoot:

Yes, these verses have a metaphoric style useful in composing Hebrew hymns; but, they carry with them an honest, down-to-earth cry that originates from the heart. In other words, tell the Lord just how you feel: fearful, angry, questioning, joyful, confused, hurt, etc..it is most pleasing to Him!

Or think of the times as a child you fell into your mother's arms crying, simply seeking the comfort of her presence. :cry:We should be free to do that with Mary or Abba, too!

And then there is the awe of kneeling silently in the presence of our Eucharistic Lord! Words just don't suffice!:censored:

What I'm trying to say is that there are occasions for every style of prayer. Let us learn their strengths and when it is best to use each of them as the need arises or as the Holy Spirit leads!:)

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

I see your well-stated points, and will take them to heart. I have a tendency to be a perfectionist as words are concerned, and so will try to "relax" that and simply pray. Frankly, I'm self-conscious during prayer (even silent prayer). I want phrases and expressions to be pleasing, like a pretty floral arrangement. But yes, I will work at "relaxing" and being more spontaneous.

On day three of week 2 of 33 day consecration now. Anyone else start on the feast day of saint Louis de montfort? Noticing a difference spiritually already so hopefully on the right track. Making it in conjunction with Father Gaitley method which is very good. Plus got back home from medjugorje on Wednesday so hopefully Our Lady is with me and for me and can dispel any darkness. I hope Our Lady can work everything out for good
