Yes, no use in getting bent out of shape over what you can't change. Offer up your anguish in reparation and pray that hearts will more fully grasp how priceless is the One Whom we receive! Lord have Mercy!
Has anyone ever thought what impact it would have on ecumenism with the Orthodox if we were to restore the celebration of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom on a global level?
Yes, but as many Orthodox criticize the liturgical abuses that took place in our Church after the Second Vatican Council and the New Mass, I am hopeful that a common liturgy can at least start a movement towards celebrating Easter on the same date.
I also think reunion of East and West is truly essential to the future of Christianity worldwide. I spent several years in the Ruthenian and Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic rites, and the animosity between the Eastern Orthodox and what they call pejoratively the “Uniates” (eastern rites under the pope) is palpable. Unfortunately it will take literal Divine Intervention to overcome this thousand year old impasse. It will not happen as a result of purely human efforts, no matter how persevering or noble.
