I agree. As horrible as it is to have a past as a grave sinner it does give us insight into evil. I was very caught up in the occult when young--new age but darker stuff too--and since being rescued by the Blessed Mother many years ago I can " smell" the occult in seemingly harmless things. Its like a mended broken bone that aches before it rains. The average person doesn't get it. They are blissfully ignorant of such things. Warning them is not always fruitful. Yoga for example. I tried to warn a devout non Catholic friend but she insisted it was harmless. Sigh. Tbe times are such that we just can't assume such things are harmless. As Fr Ripperger says " the devil isn't under every rock --but he is under every other rock."
I will soon be here 11 years. I don't write too much but i'm still here. I feel Our Lady is happy with me when i'm taking part on this forum.
It’s been a journey for me. I’ve learned so much. I truly love to visit you all everyday. It’s been a joy to be with you Padraig.
Terry If I remember correctly Padraig was shown the exit door from Ron's forum. I was given the door about a week later for perceived thought crimes. I rarely said anything as I felt a bit intimidated on that forum but my 'likes' revealed my mindset. I think we were the first members on 8th September. This forum has been a lifeline to me. God bless you Pádraig and all the moderators and the wise voices that have given us light in these dark times.
Thank you all so much for your kind words. I do check the forum from time to time by asking the very simple bottom line account question, is it doing good or is it doing harm? If I though for a second it was doing harm I would close it at once in a heartbeat. But the best way of knowing one way or another is the vote. so to speak, of the people who use it. The longer they have been using it the better, as this gives deeper perspective. So this is positive, very, very positive. Another good indicator is charity. How charitable we are to each other when we post? Again really I think this is very, very positive especially when compared to other sites.Off course there are failures. But we really, truly are sinners. But overall I think there is a great degree of charity. Another very important indicator is Spirituality, is this a place constantly centred on God and the things of God? Is it consistently Marian? Centred on Mary? Or to put it more basically, is itaiding people on their pilgrimage to heaven? Again from what people write it very much does so. But the best thing I ever hear is of conversions.Of people being brought back to the Faith. It is rare but I do hear of it from time to time. I think another good sign is that it might feel like a safe place,a warm home to people, that they might not feel threatened or intimidated and I think it's fine there too.
I think Ron's forum ,Catholic Planet',is still going. He was a good soul but maybe a little bit....well....bossy.
Yes, what a refuge, what a blessing, a place of comfort and strength this forum is. Things are about to be revelated , or are being revelated already. It is the mystery of iniquity. We are living in the book of Revelation or Apocalypse. God bless all here!
It only survives through prayer and the fact that Our Lady holds it in her hands and heart. Without this it would not last a single day.. It is Mary's,she knows her own and her own know her.
There is no other forum with as much charity, patience, kindness, humility ( among the participants) as yours, Padraig. Some forums are tailored for traditional Catholics, but there is a lack of these attributes there. So I am happy to call this forum my internet-home. I spend way too much time here, it is addictive. But it is always a pleasure, and a great spiritual strengthening.
Funny thing. I’ve occasionally thought that this forum is a bit like medjugorje. In the sense that everyone who comes here does so by an invitation of the Blessed Mother. Crazy idea? Maybe. I wonder if this has occurred to others here.
Hi Padraig. The above highlighted sounds ominous. Have you have received a word or a vision, Padraig? If so, please know I (and I believe the majority of the MoG members), understand somewhat, the sanctity of receiving signal graces, especially of this magnitude, words spoken directly to the soul; where human words are woefully insufficient in conveying a heaven sent message! I would just like to add to your above warning; that we are to remain steadfast to Our Lord Jesus' Love. Even in the times where we are confronted by the sins of our past and feel a repulsion to His grace! we soldier through for Jesus alone and here we gain the most graces! These times are our greatest triumph! Like you say Padraig "hold on to your hats" Because Jesus is our Hat, we wear the salvation of God "as a helmet for our head" And Jesus is our Salvation. In Ephesians 6 we are told this by the great St Paul. Ephesians - Chapter 6 11 Put on the full armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics. 12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and the ruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens. 13 That is why you must take up all God's armour, or you will not be able to put up any resistance on the evil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the full. 14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate, 15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace 16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the Evil One. 17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God. 18 In all your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired of staying awake to pray for all God's holy people, At the end of Verse 18 we read we are to pray each day for Gods Holy people? How do we do this? I personally pray a rosary each day for the Holy intentions of the MoG site forum members, who I know are Gods Holy People.
No this is a perfect analogy! When I found this forum almost 7 years ago, I was not looking for any group of Catholics online. But was led here by our Blessed Mother. Padraig thank you for following our Mother Mary's call to have a livingroom to share.
Edited: Somehow I got MC and Josephite wound up into the same reply. Hoping that explains the following answer. I agree. I had never been on a forum before. I had avoided social media. But I "stumbled" into this site while looking for Catholic websites. I lurked for awhile and then I joined. It is my home away from home. It is wonderful that you pray a Rosary for MOG members every day. I include MOG intentions in my prayers every day but have never done a designated Rosary. Its a great idea.
I have been here for more than 10 years now, and it is my favorite spot online. I don’t say much, because I mostly think in images and it is hard to put my thoughts into words, and you all say things much better than I could, but I read every day.
A few times in my life I needed help, prayer help and this is where I came, even before asking family members to pray. I'm pretty sure the prayers are working, actually I am very sure.
