Thank you John for this confirmation and the words of St john Vianney. St Therese the little flower, is my confirmation saint and also the confirmation saint of my 3 daughters confirmed, my other daughter was taken to heaven before confirmation. A statue of St Therese seems to be in every Catholic church in Australia, I suppose it is because Australia was seen as a mission state and as St Therese is the saint of missions she is venerated here. We have been honoured in this way. I pray a special prayer to her, every day I attend mass. I also have a devotion to her sister Celine (what a saint in the background, so holy is Celine Martin, I have read Celine's biography it is nothing more than a humble account of her sister Therese holiness which inadvertently and accidently reveals Celine's holiness), I also have a not well formed devotion to their parents St Louis and St Zélie Martin. This family was a nest of saints. May they intercede for us always. Poor St Therese has as her work cut out with me and my daughters but I instinctively know her work load will be divided equally between her saintly family members! We need all their prayers. May the Martins of Lisieux, this Holy family of saints, be for us a signpost and a refreshment station on our journey to the Fathers home. Amen
Yes her sister Celine is very special in fact the painting that I gave @Mario (Terry) was painted and signed by Celine Celine in my opinion was Therese's St John the Baptist I MUST DECREASE SO THAT SHE MAY INCREASE
AED, I will bring your friend John into Adoration with me this afternoon. Also, I’ll include John, August, Rory Rory’s and Sterph’s husbands in our parish prayer petition book before Mass. God will gather up all of the faithful’s prayers and wash us with His Mercy. Thank God for so many prayer warriors because the petitions seem to multiply ever week.
Just saw this. I will pray for John. I too have devotion to Therese and her family. I recently read a book on Leonie the troubled child. She is perhaps the perfect example of living out The Little Way. Nowadays she might be identified as autistic. Many people with troubled or special needs children pray to her. It is said that she was the one that kept them grounded and prevented them from becoming proud. A nest of saints.
Thank you Padraig. I think it is a challenge indeed. Being very bright with tons of education is not a gift IMO because it is so easy to be swept into unbelief. Between the wonderful prayers from all here and a very probable consecration to the Blessed Mother at his First Communion I am hoping for a miracle.
1_Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men:
