Prayers for your brother at Mass tonight. And will also remember your sister Anne as well. Eternal rest grant unto them and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they Rest In Peace. Amen
Julia, surely you are enduring hard times lately. I will pray for your brother. I hope that you have fully recovered from the virus. Try not to over exert yourself for a while.
Tony died at 7.30 this morning, Sunday 13th February 2022. He was always an early bird, and the Lord remembered. Eternal rest grant unto his soul Oh Lord, may he rest in peace, Amen May his soul, and may all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen. God bless and protect all those who are taking their last steps here in exile, and bring them safely home, and dear God comfort those left here to finish their earthly pilgrimage in Thy service. Amen
Eternal Father I offer You the precious Blood of Jesus for the soul of Tony. Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord and may he rest in peace.
Just to share one of the funny true happenings from Tony's life. We could write books about his adventures. It has been wonderful to hear from my niece who was with my brother, her father Tony when he died. She said both our parents turned up and he was talking to them as well as three sisters who have already died. Philomena, Anne and little Maureen a sister who had died when she was only two years old. Maureen died singing "Little sir echo how do you do, hello, hello" My mother used to sing that song and we never knew until my oldest sister told us recently, little Maureen and mum and dad were singing that little song when Maureen died. Our mother must have been remembering Maureen when she sang that song and none of us ever knew. Tony was telling his daughter Lucy that he could see these people, so he was not raving, he was also talking to his daughter saying let me out of this bed so he could go with the family he could see and talk to. I am so happy to hear this. Bless him. As well as family so far one other person turned up to welcome Tony from the other world and we were puzzled why this man who was a down and out and had died a couple of years ago should be there at my brothers bedside. It turns out this man was destined for a paupers funeral here in the UK; but Tony got together with some friends and collected enough money to have this man properly buried. He was returned to Ireland and buried in his family home town. We think he must have been allowed to come and welcome my brother into the other world. My niece said Tony her dad, was surprised to see this man because he was not a relative. I can't share his name in case any of his family happen to use this forum. Now for a funny memory from when Tony was a little boy. Our mother always remembered how Tony refused to wear any clothes when he was little. The only way she could keep clothes on him was to sow them on if visitors were coming. Anyway, At one point Tony was given a knitted suit and when he was out he discovered there was a loose thread on the wool. So by the time he got home he had totally unpicked the woollen suit and was back to having no clothes on. He had unravelled the entire suit. There are many more funny memories we have but I thought you might like to have a little bit of fun, that is who Tony always was. Always and ever ready for a laugh. God have mercy on Tony's soul. How can we ever got over losing him. We have to be good and God may allow us all to be together again.
I am so happy that Tony was on the right track as he passed away. Thank you for the beautiful memories. Praise the Lord. Yes, may God allow us all to be together again.
Oh this is so wonderful Julia. Every detail! Thank you so much for sharing it. I'm including Tony in my "purgatory list" but it sounds Ike he may not need it.
It’s a blessing to have a family you can love so much. Thank you for sharing Julia. Tony seems to have been quite a character.
