https://catholicstand.com/miracles-continue-to-surround-audrey-santo/ https://littleaudreysantofoundation.com/ I read a document by the bishop(rather,a report if it)and the bishop said "catholics cant pray TO her" However, I find this puzzling. To be a saint one needs to perform miracles after death, so how can one know if a saint performed the miracle, without having ever prayed to him\her? Wouldnt praying to her to receive a healing be neccesary to proceed with beatification? I have motor disability so I want to pray to Aubrey, who but all accounts is described as a victim-soul and even reportedly stigmatist. If someone has more precise insight, please share!
I suspect the bishop was simply making the distinction that we only pray TO God, while we simply ask the saints for their intercession. This seems like a modern distinction made in order not to upset our separated brethren but in the history of the church no one ever felt it necessary to constantly point out this distinction. Everyone already knew this so it wasn’t a belabored point.
I’m not sure, but doesn’t a person have to be declared Servant of God as a first step toward canonization?
I think many of us have “personal saints,” Catholics who have died who we ask for intercession, whether historical figures or family or friends we personally knew, regardless of whether they’re actively on a path to official canonization. I’d put Aubrey in that category. So I’d certainly think you’re safe here.
