https://incaelo.wordpress.com/about-the-author/translations/10761-2/ Back in 2012 under Pope Benedict's direction, the wording of "collects" in the Sacred Liturgy were changed to correspond more closely to traditional translation and understanding. I was quite pleased. And in the above article referencing the year 2012, Pope Benedict instructs the German bishops to adhere to the use "of many" in the Prayer of Consecration. This corresponds to the use of "many" in the Gospels of Mark and Matthew. These steps taken by Pope Benedict deflected what I believe was an incremental move which would have ultimately led to making null and void the Holy Sacrifice. I believe the recent change in dealing with the nature of blessings is simply more of the same now under the current Pontificate. Wasn't a conversation recently initiated here raising concerns over the poor quality of translations of Biblical texts in the Lectionary for Sunday readings. I fear what this tinkering of the Deposit of Faith is leading to, and I fear the pace may be speeding up. The Abomination of Desolation which Alphonsus Liguori spoke of draws nearer. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
