PODCAST #263 SENSUS FIDELIUM I strongly urge the listening of this podcast. It features a sermon by Father Philip Wolfe FSSP (who gave the Our Lady of Revelation series) about these current times in the Church and how to deal with them. Its excellent. Truly excellent. Sorry. So sorry.. Should read podcast 263. During his talk he quotes Frank Sheed.about Vatican II. So spot on. And a good reminder. What really struck me was his quote of St Paul. The very reading we had at Mass yesterday. "Have no anxiety but give thanks in all things presenting your petitions to God....whatever is true beautiful wholesome ...think on that." I decided it was more than coincidence so I decided to post.
There is a great explanation in the video of giving and receiving scandal. Those sins are very much a part of what is being done today in what we read and what we say in print or with our speech. It’s Catholic.
Matthew 24 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall seduce many. 12 And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold. 13 But he that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom, shall be preached in the whole world, for a testimony to all nations, and then shall the consummation come. 15 When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand. 16 Then they that are in Judea, let them flee to the mountains: 17 And he that is on the housetop, let him not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 And he that is in the field, let him not go back to take his coat. 19 And woe to them that are with child, and that give suck in those days. 20 But pray that your flight be not in the winter, or on the sabbath. 21 For there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be. 22 And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say to you: Lo here is Christ, or there, do not believe him. 24 For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. 25 Behold I have told it to you, beforehand. Apocalypse 18 1 And after these things, I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power: and the earth was enlightened with his glory. 2 And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen; and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every unclean spirit, and the hold of every unclean and hateful bird: 3 Because all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication; and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her; and the merchants of the earth have been made rich by the power of her delicacies. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying: Go out from her, my people; that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and the Lord hath remembered her iniquities. So, the "false prophets" will set up "the abomination of desolation." This abomination will be set up "in the holy place." These "false Christs" and "false prophets" can deceive even "the elect." If you are Catholic, then you know that "the elect" are Catholics. Who acts in the person of Christ [in persona christi], according to the Catholic Church? Who is the deputy of Christ on earth [the vicar of Christ]? Who are the only people that faithful Catholics ("the elect") follow in matters of religion? Where is "the holy place" located for "the elect?" Once you have figured out the answers to those above questions, from whom and from where are we being told to "flee?" Pray about this. Go to confession and ask the Holy Spirit and Mary to guide you. There is only one answer that makes sense.
