I have had doubts about Garanbadal's apparitions in recent days, but when I read this news I thought about the possibility that Francis would travel to Moscow through President Lula( communist), with whom he is very ideologically aligned.

I think it's possible that this actually facilitates the pope's visit to Moscow, considering that Lula has good relations with Biden; Macron, Putin, Xi Jinping, and with Pope Francis himself, as Lula wants to create a group of neutral countries to mediate the conflict, perhaps Francis wants to include the Vatican in this.

Maybe it's just the processing of older reports, I don't know.

Pope Francis to present peace plan in Moscow
Pope Francis wants to present his peace plan to Russian President Vladimir Putin and talk about a peaceful solution to the conflict between Russia and the West.
Leonid Sebastianov, chairman of the World Union of Old Believers (ARC), who is "in close correspondence with the pope," told RIA Novosti on Wednesday:
"The pope has a plan with proposals for a peaceful solution to the conflict between Russia and the West and confirmed his desire to negotiate with Russian leaders and his readiness to come to Moscow."
The Vatican Secretariat of State's semi-official press review Il Sismografo also reported that Sebastianov quoted a passage from a letter from Pope Francis:
"How I would love to go to Moscow and talk to Putin about the plan for a peaceful solution in Europe."
It is striking that there is no talk of a conflict with Ukraine, but with "the West."
The so-called Old Believers are a direction within Russian Orthodoxy that dates back to the mid-17th century. The Old Believers rejected a liturgical reform of the then Moscow Patriarch Nikon (1651-1660) as "too Roman".

I’m thinking something drastic is going to happen and he will go asap. He did have a recent surgery and they said he’s in really good shape. Things are speeding up.

Imagine what a surprise it would be if Cardinal Zuppi were elected pope in a very short time and immediately went to Moscow because he already had a visit scheduled as a cardinal.:confused::confused:

What if the Pope goes to Moscow because there’s a new leader there?

Pope ready to mediate on Ukraine, but West hinders peace — Russian ambassador

Ivan Soltanovsky emphasized that the Holy See has been "taking a neutral and balanced position" since the beginning of the crisis

MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Pope Francis is ready to mediate on Ukraine, but the West is obstructing the settlement of the conflict, Ivan Soltanovsky, Russian ambassador to the Vatican, said in an interview with TASS.

"After starting the special military operation, we received a proposal from the Pope to mediate in establishing a dialogue with the Ukrainian side, which was repeatedly voiced subsequently as well. The real barrier is the denial of the need for negotiations both on the part of the Ukrainian authorities, expressed in the legal prohibition to negotiate with Russia, and on the part of the collective West, madly pumping the Kiev regime with modern weapons, thus pushing it to continue military adventures," the diplomat noted.

He emphasized that the Holy See has been "taking a neutral and balanced position" since the beginning of the crisis. We know that Pope Francis does not accept military action. We appreciate his efforts to establish a lasting and just peace," the Russian ambassador added.

As Soltanovsky explained, under the conditions of the West's destructive policy, Moscow's dialogue with the Vatican is focused on solving "specific humanitarian issues, primarily together with Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the Pope's special envoy." "In the opinion of the Holy See, successes on the humanitarian track are important not only in themselves, but also in terms of creating a more favorable environment for finding ways to peace and restoring at least minimal trust between the countries," he concluded.

    However:

No news yet about potential new Patriarch Kirill-Pope Francis summit — Russian ambassador
"Direct and fairly regular contacts between the churches continue, as we are aware," Ivan Soltanovsky noted

Actually, he is right, I totally agree. And the west is the real obstacle to that negotiation because the big powers US UK France Germany Poland want no negotiations with Russia, they couldn’t care less about the thousands of people dying in Ukraine for a lost cause, and they don’t want to admit their wrong doing, which is that their policy of geopolitical military pressure against Russia since the fall of the ussr is what has led to this war.

What amazes me is how eager are US politicians ( except Trump truth be told) to send billions of dollars to Ukraine so that it can spend them on the US military industry.
