The Coronation of Mary as Queen of the Angels and Saints. "And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars" (Rev 12:1 ). The Mysteries of the Rosary remind me of a House built on hill top with many, many roads to arrive there.. At any one time many millions of Catholic may be meditating on the exact same Mystery but approaching it in many different ways, travelling many differing roads to get there. The Coronation , for me is a Mystery of Spring time, a \Breath of Hope for it turns our hearts to our true home, which is with God in Heaven. We know a little of what and where we are but so little of where we are to go and what we are to become. 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.” Mary goes before us and where we go, depending how we have responded to the Grace that falls to us from her hands, from her Son, Jesus, there we go to also and just as Mary was Crowned so shall we be also. Psalm 8:5 You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. There is a temptation to think of Heaven as a place of rest, a Rest with a smile on our faces. But it seems to me we are never happier here on Earth than when we doing things. Perhaps bring up a family. Perhaps at some Sport of Hobby. Perhaps doing something busy. Our Joy is so often linked with doing stuff. In fact often the very busiest we are is when we appear to be doing nothing at all. Contemplative Prayer, when we stay so still is when we are busiest of all. So when we see God Face to Face our wings will humming like humming birds, little Crowns on our heads. Psalm 45:9 Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir.
I was going up the mountain this afternoon , preparing to say my first rosary when the thought came to me that if God exists I am probably the wisest of people, but, on the other hand if He does not exist I am more than half insane. It's either one or the other, there's no in between. That's the nature of Faith.
It's a good thing that God clearly distinguished faith from scientific rationalism, thus making the conditions for knowing Him similar for the poor and rich, intelligent and illiterate. Even the mentally challenged can know Him through the universal aspect of faith. The Orthodox like to emphasize that God does not come to be known through the development of the brain, but this does not mean that intelligence is a sin. However, God is not like a body to be dissected in a laboratory or a phenomenon to be proven scientifically; He acts on the human heart above any physical, mental, intellectual, and economic limitations and also above any mistaken judgments. In all of this, I believe that Abraham's life example enlightens us every day in this world where we are constantly bombarded with atheist propaganda. Genesis 15:6 6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
Pascal's Wager--if you believe and He exists then you win Eternal Life. If He doesn't exist but you believe you have lived a good and valuable life.
