It can be noticed that Dr. Puncernau does not speak of the Miracle, but of the Warning. Is this a mistake? Perhaps not.
One of the items that was mentioned in the prayer intentions at our Fatima Mass this evening was the growing confrontation with the Magisterium of the Church... The schism will be an open wound soon in the Church if it is not already. I also couldn't help but wonder during Mass, if there was a large enough amount of prayer for peace today to offset the nuclear games going on right now - a reprieve, if only in time. And only time will tell.
I only support officially church approved apparitions of Our Lady. The impending schism has been caused by Fr. Jorge Bergolio SJ aka " Pope Francis" following the heretical writings of Cardinal Walter Kasper. This is what happens when evil theology is supported by those who should and ought to know better. The real rot sets in when dissident theologians are not only given free rein but actual open support by the highest church authority.
The schism already exists and it is a vast schism it is an almost total schism because there are "very few Christians who obey the true Sovereign Pontiff and the Roman Church with loyal hearts and perfect charity" as saint francis of asisi warned. Most do not even recognise him as being pope any more. So the schism has over taken the largest part of the church
To better put the title of this thread into context, the apostasy comes before the schism and the warning. It is the apostasy from the truths of God that the Church has always understood as unchanging that brings God's chastisements to mankind. The schism is an effect of the apostasy.
In june 1976 archbishop lefebvre said "Rome has lost the Faith, my dear friends. Rome is in apostasy" It would seem the apostacy has not only begun but has been raging for quite sometime and has it seems reached a critical point
It is snowing at the moment here and the pavements are full of ice. I have nearly fallen several times and I know at my age living on my own I have to be very careful for a fall coudl be quite serious especially if I am on my own up in the mountains in the snow in the dark, for if I fell and could not get up if would be maybe days before I was missed. Still I love the snow and the ice. It reminds me of the Canticle of the three youths we read in Daniel, a song of joy we sing in the Liturgy, 'Snow and ice , bless the Lord'. When I was up the mountain yesterday it was so beautiful and white, I could not stop praying and singing hymns, especially as we draw near to the birth of Our Lord whose coming is upon us. David did the same when he was a poor shepherd boys n the mountains and composed the pslams there. As I suspect St Patrick did when he too was a poor slave shepherd boy himself, surrounded by the snow and the ice.
But I could regard the snow and the ice in a very different ,darker, negative light. I could regard all the people who break their limbs or even loose their lives, the automobile accidents, the inconvenience the sheer cold of it all. The cold and ice could become my prison. I could even begin to feel sorry for myself and fear for possible futures in the fullness of the winter. But I remember the wonderful words: I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. Well Archbishop Lefebvre is not a resource I would use, but it is clear to me the apostasy is in full bloom today.

It is currently snowing here in Maryland, too, Padraig...part of a long swath to affect many states, some of which do not have snow as usual. It has snowed in Brownsville, Texas, where it has only snowed three times in recorded history. I like the snow, as well. Just keep your sense of caution and you'll be fine, esp. with all the angels around you. I have noticed lately that I have been saved from all kinds of stumbles and I know it is my angel.
But I think we face a similiar danger with the Church. We can so focus in on the cold and the dark and the ice and the real dangers and uncertain future that we too imprison ourselves. yes some things to come may indeed be terrible but let us face into the future with hope knowing that after the night comes morning and after the winter spring. That Christs is the victory. Let us not be made the prisoners of our fears. Christ was born in the very depths of Winter but rose again in Spring

Yes Mark is quite right. I was praying about this book and as I did so the thought came to me, 'What if you were writing this book; what would your conscience be saying to you, telling you to do?' Well the answer was at once very obvious to me. My conscience would be telling me right from the beginning to stop at once. I would be very,very uncomfortable indeed with from the very first line. Would Our Lady write a book like this? Does this show the mind and Heart of the Blessed Virgin? No; of course not. It's a hatchet job. God does not do hatchet jobs.

I have often been tempted Denis to switch off all discussion on all of this on the forum myself. To turn back ot what I hoped was the final reason the forum was formed which is purely spiritual But I prayed about it and decided not to beut to alow fre discussion. Why? Well in my own experience of life is that ignoring the wolves we encounter along life's journey does not cause them to go away, on the contrary the wolves sensing we are trying to pretend they are just not there will be only encouraged to draw much closer. You as an American Vet, an old soldier will l know this better than anyone. You know that often the only way to fight the wolves surrounding America has been to go out and confront, to face the wolves and of course many Americans have died fighting such wolves. It is always better to fight the wolves in the fields than to wait for them to come through the door and into our homes. So Americans have gone abroad and died in foreign fields knowing if they did not die abroad they would, eventually die in their own fields. Nor was the battle just for the soldiers but for each and every American, soldier or not it was the duty and the honour of ALL Americans. So too with the Church. The wolfs are currently hunting on several fronts. We can close our doors and let them get on with it. But, manke no mistake about it , one day soon they will come through OUR doors looking to feed right on us. They will come through the doors of our own Parish Church's (if they are not in fact already there. Their final aim, I believe being the elimination of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. So, no, I believe we all have a duty to defend and fight in this battle to defeat these wolves. God has no hands but ours.
As much as I dislike having to speak out about the hierarchy of the Church in this way I think at this time it is necessary. Many of them are dragging souls to Hell. The devil would like nothing better than for you to stop all discussion of what is happening in the Church. You would be doing his work in helping to blind the faithful to what is happening. This is one of the few places on the net that has a very accurate picture of what is going on without going overboard. Yes sometimes people go too far and I cringe at what they say, but I am at least glad the warnings are getting out. At this point sticking our fingers in our ears and saying "La, la, la, la, la..." Just won't cut it. Indeed we should be singing the dangers from the rooftops. A recent quote from Bishop Athanasius Schneider on the culpability of those who remain silent in the current crisis:

My Oath of Office did not become void when I retired ... I'm an Officer in the AF Retired Reserve until my dying day and I will aid-n-defend The Nation & Faithful wherever I find myself.
