Thank you for this reminder. Last year, January 1st fell on a 1st Friday and a mystic whose books I read released a message pointing out that the year would be difficult and a sign of this was that it started on a First Friday. We were to continue to repair for sins - but many in the Church had forgotten this. Now this year starts on a First Saturday - this must be significant spiritually. I think we are to pray and wait things out with Our Lady like She prayed and waited in agony for the Resurrection of Her Son all day Saturday. Doesn't it feel to others like we are waiting for something? In any even, it is comforting to start the new year with Our Lady of Fatima.
Victim soul and mystic, Elizabeth Kindelmann of Hungary (apparitions approved by Cardinal Peter Erdo, primate of Hungary) asked Our Lady, "Our heavenly Mother, why don't you perform miracles so that people believe in you as you did at Fatima?" Our Lady replied, "My daughter, even if I were to perform great miracles, people would not believe in me. My little Carmelite, I asked for First Saturdays, and who paid any attention to my request? Let us make Our Blessed Mother happy by making always our First Saturdays and offer them for those who do not do as She requested. Blessings.
My wife and I have been doing the 1st Saturday devotion for over a year and will keep doing it as long as we are physically able.
