This weekend I'll be preaching, focusing on the Wise Men who disrupted their lives, expended their resources, to honor the newborn King. What new sacrifice can each of us make, what steps can we take, to draw others to join us in serving and honoring our King. Some see Christ as controversial, some give Him a polite nod, some insult and deny Him. But we who love Him, are called not only to honor and worship Him on Sundays, but to deepen our commitment in bringing Him to others, and serving Him in others through the corporal and spiritual works of Mercy. What new sacrifice can I make for the Lord to honor him in word and deed? Jesus asks each one of us to take up our Cross, to sacrifice for the sake of the Kingdom, for the sake of our salvation and the salvation of others. What needs to change in my life to make it so, to imitate the sacrificial journey of Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar, for the sake of the King? It will go something like that for 15 minutes.
