It's good that Cardinal Burke is doing this, prayer and especially prayer to Our Lady at this time can only be good. Cardinal Burke is a holy indeed saintly man and I admire him a lot. But at the same time I can't help wishing he had called out Papa Frankie more openly and directly down the years. Called a spade a spade, so to speak. If ever there was a time for calling a spade a spade it was these. But it never really happened, did it? I think for instance of the original Dubia signed by Cardinal Burke. Papa Frankie just never answered this and all the Dubia Cardinals then fell silent. Why oh why? Forgive me if I seem harsh but this call for a Novena is a safe bet. There is time fro prayer, yes of course. But there is a time for speaking out too. I am afraid this has not and is not happening. Prayer should lead to action.
Did Our Lady of Good Success say 'he who should speak remains silent'? I think so. Of course everyone who opens their mouth gets beheaded.
Do take into consideration the fact that all the other dubia cardinals have died and that cardinal Burke has been critically ill from covid. I'm not simply making an excuse for Burke, but these are the facts and who knows what might be happening behind the scenes
It reminds me of a US Marshall who was at the scene when a bunch of desperadoes started to rob a Bank. The good Marshall pulls his six gun from the holster and dramatically fires a shot into the ceiling. Everyone , including the bad guys freezes , but then the Marshall put the gun back in his holster and saunders of and disappears. Now he is back again and with this Novena kinda taps his holster in a threatening manner. Now I would compare his goings on to Sheriff Strickland who hales from a little two bit no account town in Texas. Sheriff Strickland has had his six guns in his hands spitting lead at the bad guys , right into the bad guys, not into the ceiling, from quite some time now. Every time he empties them firing hot lead he reloads and then lets the desperados have another taste of hot lead. My kinda guy. As for the US Marshall Burke and his Novena? Well good says I. Its nice to see him tapping his holster, but I 'd prefer him letting go with some of that hot lead like that young Texan, Sheriff Strickland.
imho, there's something very very dark in all of this; something that we can feel but are not privy to understanding. The Cardinal had a meeting with the pope; and now he is calling for this special time of prayer. I'm thinking that this is Cardinal Burke's way of letting us know that Our Lady is the one holding the "six shooters" now, so get yourself ready for what's coming ~
