Forty people are dead and more than 100 others are wounded following shooting attacks at Crocus City Hall outside Moscow on Friday night, according to Russia’s Federal Security Service.

According to IFX, up to five gunmen were involved in the attacks.

Russia’s top investigative agency, the Investigative Committee, said that it is investigating the events as a terrorist attack, the Associated Press reports.

The agency did not say who may be responsible for the attacks."

The ISIS explanation was jumped on rather fast by western news outlets. Russia has yet to say anything about who did it.

 

Another story from RT: I'm guessing they're going to find that Ukrainians were responsible. And the west will say Putin false flagged his own people to justify overrunning all of Ukraine. Those are my guesses, at least.

The perpetrators and organizers of Friday’s terrorist attack at a Moscow concert venue must be hunted down without mercy, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has insisted.

At least 60 people were killed and over 100 wounded when several men armed with assault rifles opened fire inside the Crocus City Hall and then proceeded to set the concert venue on fire.

Medvedev is currently deputy chair of the National Security Council. In a Telegram poston Friday evening, he sent condolences to the families of those killed and encouragement to the relatives of the wounded.

“Terrorists understand only terror in response. No trials or investigations will help if force is not countered with force, and deaths with executions of terrorists and a crackdown on their families,” he wrote, noting this was “the way of the world.”

“If these terrorists turn out to be the Kiev regime, we can’t deal with them and their ideological inspirers differently. All of them must be found and mercilessly destroyed as terrorists – including officials of the state that committed such an atrocity,”he added.

“Death for death.”

Medvedev’s words echoed the line by Russian President Vladimir Putin, voiced in 1999, when he was a newly appointed prime minister about to launch a counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

“We are going to pursue terrorists everywhere,” Putin said at the time. “If we find them in the toilet, then we will waste them in the outhouse.”

Reminiscing about it in 2011, Putin said the phrasing he used may have been “unpleasant,” but the sentiment behind it was honest and correct.

 

If it is ISIS, rather than the Ukraine, it should be remembered that the former are a creature of the Obama/Hillary Clinton junta, if my memory serves me well. Are not ISIS currently opposed to the Russians in Syria, acting as a US proxy? To paraphrase the late Leonard Cohen from over thirty years ago, we're all now feeling the sting of 'the devil's riding crop'. It seems a step closer to World War III. Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov has said after a visit to Crocus City Hall that “the situation there is extremely difficult”.

“As for the dead, I must say right away that the number of victims will grow significantly. Today at 6:30 am, rescuers entered the hall where the most terrible events took place,” he told local reporters."

RT’s editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan has posted a video clip of the interrogation of one of the suspected terrorists behind Friday’s shooting spree at Crocus City concert hall near Moscow. Earlier on Saturday, Russia’s FSB security service confirmed that eleven suspects, including four of the alleged perpetrators, had been detained in Bryansk Region, not far from the Ukrainian border.

The footage shows a bearded man lying on the ground and describing in broken Russian how he’d been paid to commit the terrorist attack.








The man says that before committing Friday’s atrocity, he had been to Türkiye. When asked what he did at the Crocus City concert venue on Friday evening, he replied: “I shot down... people.” The suspect added that he had committed the crime “for money,” detailing that he had been promised 500,000 rubles ($5,418).

The alleged perpetrator claimed that half the sum had already been transferred to his debit card.

The man also said that the curators, whom he supposedly does not know personally, had contacted him via Telegram messaging app, and arranged an arms cache for the assailants.

According to the suspect, he had been “listening to sermons… by a preacher” on Telegram for some time before being approached by the supposed masterminds of Friday’s attack “around a month ago.”

Shortly after publishing the first video clip, Simonyan posted more footage, in this instance depicting another suspected terrorist speaking through an interpreter.








The man describes how an acquaintance who he'd befriended on Telegram “ten to twelve days ago” had purchased a car, presumably with a view to using it as a taxi.

The terrorist attack, which, according to preliminary estimates, has left 115 dead and over 120 injured, occurred on Friday evening at Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, on the western outskirts of the Russian capital. The concert venue, with an estimated capacity of 7,500, was nearly full when the terrorists burst into the building.

After gunning down dozens of fleeing patrons, the assailants then set fire to rows of chairs inside the hall. The blaze quickly engulfed much of the building, including its roof.
