I am a 'conservative' Catholic from Bellingen [Coffs Harbour], Australia. Retired, I attend mass frequently and Confession monthly. Latin mass is banned by our bishop [Bishop "call-me-Greg"] but I travel 2 or more hours to a traditional mass when able (say 5 times a year). I live in a Catholic community/estate suppressed by a well-meaning (?) priest [Eucharist, Confession-promoting but not traditional devotion]. Out chapel is closed but our prayer-group is strong. For my whole life I have been concerned for the souls in Purgatory. I was schooled by the Patrician Brothers. I grew up in the Latin Mass but was, at first, seduced by the music in the Novus Ordo. My 'Faith journey' began with Padre Pio, brought to my attention by a teacher who met him in the confessional. Fatima and Lourdes impressed me, then True Life in God [Vassula Ryden] and Fr Gobbi's 'Blue Book' captivated my attention. I have evangelised since I was aged 20, first by printed material, then tapes, then CDs/DVDs, now sending out links and creating paper folders on various topics. Nowadays I read a lot of Catholic prophecy. No, I'm not a saint. I have much to regret. But I am forgiven and loved by my Father. I can claim no 'credit' but try to do what is required of a follower of Christ. Nothing I do earns me heaven other than the Love of God. That's me. View my contribtions in this context.
Welcome Tibbi from down under. Thanks for stopping in and saying hello! Right now it's about 12:30 pm on the east coast of America. That must put you somewhere around 5:30 am tomorrow!
Welcome Tibbi. It seems we are in the same diocese! I live south of Grafton which is in the Clarence Valley Parish. I attended Mass etc in this Parish most of my life but for about three years attended Mass at Coramba and Glenreagh a part of the Coffs Harbour parish, which is just north of the Bellingen parish. About 3 to 4 years ago when St Pauls Church at Glenreagh was tragically and diabolically burnt down, I returned to attending Mass, confession and devotions at the Clarence Valley parish. So good to have another Australian join the forum. There is a few of us now. God bless.
Hey, went to Coramba 2 weeks ago. Nice little church. Conservative crowd (fits me) said rosary with Gary(?) whose at Coffs every day. Usually elsewhere [Coffs Sawtell N'bucca]
