Hello Mother of God forum members, I've been following this forum since 2020. The community and faithfulness to the Catholic tradition has been encouraging for me. I work in the field of software development. Additionally I'm a husband and father with a few young children and thus I'm not too sure how much time I'll have to post but will be keeping any intentions I see in my prayers.
Welcome, Ite ad Joseph! Yes, your family is no. 1 priority. Share when you can. We have a few parents here who still have young ones in the nest. Purpleflower comes to mind. When I got involved on the forum, Danny, my youngest, was 9.
Best forum name I've seen! Welcome! I'm glad to have another parent of young children around. Mine are ages 1-10.
Welcome! You have found a great place. It is great to see you have a devotion to Holy St. Joseph, so do many here.
This thread and your SN have motivated me to re-consecrate myself to St Joseph! Like the 33 day Marian one that some of us are 1/2 through now, I will use the Fr Calloway 33 Day Book. It would start on Feb 16th (leap year this year) so consecration would be on Feast of St Joseph (March 19th). Myabe some of you would like to join as well?
https://catholicexchange.com/st-therese-of-lisieux-on-devotion-to-the-saints/ 'When St. Therese was preparing to travel to Rome to ask the pope for permission to enter the Carmelites at a young age, she explains that she was worried about being exposed to the impurity of the world. She writes: “I prayed specially to St. Joseph to watch over me; from my childhood, devotion to him has been interwoven with my love for our Blessed Lady. Every day I said the prayer beginning: “St. Joseph, Father and Protector of Virgins” . . . so I felt I was well protected and quite safe from danger” (Story of a Soul, chapter vi, https://mycatholic.life/books/story-soul-saint-therese-lisieux/). This brief recollection reveals several things. First, St. Therese had a consistent devotion towards St. Joseph throughout her life. Secondly, she trusted St. Joseph to protect her from any impurity on her journey. She knew that the saints were watching and protecting her, mainly from spiritual harm. '
Welcome Ite Ad Joseph, yes go to Joseph, after our Blessed Mother the greatest of saints and most tender of fathers.
