Padrepiofan, 1. I agree with you that the third secret is primarily about the apostasy in what appears to many people to be "the Catholic Church." But the true Catholic Church is "indefectible" until the Second Coming of Jesus. That is a dogma of the Catholic faith. So if you see an organization that claims to be "the Catholic Church" and it defects from the teachings of Jesus Christ, then that organization cannot be the true Catholic Church. Look elsewhere for the Church. For example, maybe another Pope will still be living and he might go by a name that sounds something like Benedict XVI...maybe (what do I know?). 2. I partially agree with your second statement. The 3.5 years of "desolation" will be a time when the authentic Sacraments (Baptism, Confession, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass) and their effects (the remission of sins) will be non-existent in the Counterfeit Church. However, I do believe that these Sacraments will be available in the "catacomb" Catholic Church of the faithful Remnant. That true Catholic Church will be the one that keeps all the dogmas of the traditional Catholic faith. 3. Most important for you, and to set your mind at ease a bit, it is perennial Catholic teaching that until a person's soul separates from the body and the "Particular Judgment" is completed, that person can always repent of their sins and be forgiven for those sins. Do not doubt that. The "Particular Judgment" is in the Roman Catechism in Part I, Article VII (search for the Catechism of Trent online). 4. Now, the word "forgiven" is a little ambiguous. Catholic Catechisms speak of two elements in the process of "forgiveness:" 1. absolution and 2. satisfaction. You might be mixing those two things up. If you are "perfectly contrite," even of no priests are available to provide the Sacrament of Penance (and assuming that you desire to actually receive the Sacrament), then your sins are "forgiven" (meaning you are "absolved" of your sins). But you still have to do your penance, i.e., make "satisfaction" for those sins. If you do not have access to the Sacrament of Penance and no penance is given to you by a priest, then how to make "satisfaction" is less clear. This means that a person going through that situation is more likely to end up in Purgatory rather than go straight to Heaven. To solve that problem, learn about Indulgences. For example, if you have "the proper dispositions" (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT), you can receive a Plenary Indulgences by doing some very simple actions, such as praying a Rosary. Search online about the details of Indulgences and trust the perennial teaching of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
The term "desolation" is found in many Biblical prophetic books, but especially Ezechiel and Daniel and confirmed by Our Lord in the Olivet Discourse. The period of ~3.5 years is also seen in Ezechiel and Daniel with confirmation by St. John in the Apocalypse. More detailed descriptions of the events can be found in Maria Valtorta's Notebooks, specifically the discussion of the "Dry Bones." The True Church vs Counterfeit Church is hinted at in most Marian Apparitions, but the Apocalypse is primarily about this juxtaposition of the Immaculate Bride (the true Church) and the Harlot of Babylon (the Jezabelian Counterfeit). Other more recent prophecies (Luz de Maria, Pedro Regis, Carbonia, etc.) hint at the Sacramental nexus.
Live your life as all the pre-Vatican II catechisms tell you to live. The fundamental teaching of the authentic Church cannot change. Reject any novel teaching on faith, morals and sacraments. If you do this faithfully, you have no reason to be scared. The Holy Trinity, through the instrument of his One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church will not deceive you in its authentic Magisterium.

My main interests regarding Malachi Martin center around his connection with the Fatima prophecies and related events pertaining to Church history. "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Church" happens to be one of my favorite books authored by him. At this point in time--while again, readily acknowledging my limited information, I'm still inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt by stating my belief that his GOTO would have to be our Lord Jesus. My gut instinct tells me that Malachi Martin was legit, regardless of whatever controversies were associated with him.

'Revelations : The Hidden Secret Messages of the Blessed Virgin Mary'.' ..and I was reading some of the messages of the exact same mystic he refers to: Jeanne Royer (Sister of the Nativity) 1731-98) A few of the mystics he refers to, Sr Jeanne included I simply do not know. I think perhaps this would evidence why malachi martin said in 1989 that revealing the secret would give the Russians a strategic advantage that the West could not resist, Russia currently has quantitative superiority in the field of nuclear weapons.
