I don't think the US will be destroyed. Although I do think it will cease to exist in its present form. In other words as a Federal Union. It will continue to exist as parts of its former self. As smaller unions of states. I think events towards this end are already in process.

The Union will end. This reminds me a lot of Israel from Scripture. When they discovered the Promised Land it was one state but later divided into two parts , Judah and Israel.

This might not actually be a bad thing. It reminds me of the words of St Paul, 'Come out from amongst them.'

However at the culmination of the Tribulation we have the Three Days of Darkness during which we are told that three quarters of the World's population will perish when all the evil , Godless people in World will perish. It will be possible to travel for many miles without encountering a single living soul.

Well if we translate this to the USA with a population of 33o million this would translate to a Remnant of around 80 million souls. The last time the US population was at this level was around 1900, when it was still almost a Frontier Nation. Along with this man of her major cities such as New York, San Francisco and Chicago. In addition her means of mass transportation such as air ,rail and highways will cease as will Federal Government.

But instead of seeing this as Destruction perhaps it might be better to see it in more positive terms as a rebirth? A starting over again. All child birth of course is painful but it is also joyful.

So a much simpler, rural , communal lifestyle, very like the old Frontier World with vast stretches of land depopulated.

A little like,, 'Little House on the Prairie'.

Perhaps too a new political foundation. Perhaps indeed a new Union at the end, but a very different from the old.

New birth, new beginnings. A Catholic America.

 

When God Created Earth it was Pristine.. When God Created Adam and Eve - all was Perfect...
Then the Fall occured and Satan, Prince of this world entered in. And Earth is filled with Death...
He's received a mortal blow from the Cross - Yes he's still kicking his boots and shall continue to - until the Return of our Lord Jesus from the Sky
Soon after Satan and Death are finally eliminated via being tossed into Hell, Earth Itself shall be re-born .
And the only nation left? Is the Coming Kingdom of God!

 

A simpler, rural, Catholic America sounds great to me!

 

Our Lady of America said this to Sister Mary Ephram on 10/7/1957. Doesn't sound like to me, in this day in age since, that Americans will avoid great punishment from God:

"My beloved daughter, what I am about to tell you concerns in a particular way my children in America. Unless they do penance by mortification and self-denial and thus reform their lives, God will visit them with punishments hitherto unknown to them.

My child, there will be peace, as has been promised, but not until my children are purified and cleansed from defilement, and clothed thus with the white garment of grace, are made ready to receive this peace, so long promised and so long held back because of the sins of men.

My dear children, either you will do as I desire and reform your lives, or God Himself will need to cleanse you in the fires of untold punishment. You must be prepared to receive His great gift of peace. If you will not prepare yourselves, God will Himself be forced to do so in His justice and mercy.

Making the rosary a family prayer is very pleasing to me. I ask that all families strive to do so. But be careful to say it with great devotion, meditating on each mystery and striving to imitate in your daily lives the virtues depicted therein. Live the mysteries of the rosary as I lived them, and it will become a chain binding you to me forever. They who are found in the circle of my rosary will never be lost. I myself will lead them at death to the throne of my Son, to be eternally united to Him.

Write these words upon your hearts, my dear children, because of the compassion I have for you in my Immaculate Heart. Oh, if you knew the punishments I am holding back from you by my pleading and intercession on your behalf!

Will you do as I wish at last, my children?"

Other strong warnings came again in 1957 and 1958:

Unless my children reform their lives, they will suffer great persecution. If man himself will not take upon himself the penance necessary to atone for his sins and those of others, God in His justice will have to send upon him the punishment necessary to atone for his transgressions.

What am I to do, child of my heart, when my children turn from me? The false peace of this world lures them and in the end will destroy them. They think they have done enough in consecrating themselves to my Immaculate Heart. It is not enough. That which I ask for and is most important many have not given me. What I ask, have asked, and will continue to ask is reformation of life. There must be sanctification from within. I will work my miracles of grace only in those who ask for them and empty their souls of the love and attachment to sin and all that is displeasing to my Son. Souls who cling to sin cannot have their hands free to receive the treasures of grace that I hold out to them.

POINT: One must be prepared to deal with that - when/if one is around when it occurs by keeping Faithful to God/Jesus
IMBelief? It may be possible to mitigate the intensity - by Petitioning God to do so. .

 

It bears remembering too that when folks visited Fr Solanus Casey in Detroit he over and over and over again reminded them to be obedient and in union with Rome.

At the time everyone wondered what on Earth he meant. But it is clear to everyone what he meant now.

 

I don't think anyone here thinks the U.S. will escape punishment. Our sins are very, very many.

to be processed into the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in DC, accompanied by the Bishops of the US. Of course that never took place.

Not listening to our Lord Jesus is a total no-no

 

If you don't believe someone exists there is no way you could listen to him.

I don't think to many of them really believe Jesus physically rose from the dead.. and being dead, how would He speak to anyone, or how would His Blessed Mother.

In order to be listening you have to be praying and in order to pray you have to get down on your knees and in order to get down on your knees you have to be humble.

 

A long time friend of mine - a Manhattanite - a 'good' Catholic - who goes out of his way (e.g., Ignatian Retreat, etc.. ) to be a 'good' Catholic - yet goes to a well-known LGBTQ Jesuit parish in Manhattan?

Told me awhile ago that he's not sure if Jesus really Resurrected!

The Resurrection? Is part of true HOPE! An essential part of the fundamental Teachings of Jesus!

I attempted to discuss it further with him, but he 'diplomatically' avoided any talk...

Yesterday my husband and I drove across northern Indiana to visit his 98 year old aunt. We drove through many Amish and Mennonite communities. No restaurants or stores open on Sunday. Horses and buggies going down the road. Large family farms and you could see large gatherings at the homesteads, sitting outside under the trees, having picnics etc. everyone dressed in modesty . . .Mennonite women with white netted hats, Amish women in black bonnets. No cell phones, no technology just everyone enjoying each other. This is how I would like to see the future and our country transformed. I was wishing I came from a family like that. Just over the state line in Michigan is store after store selling cannibis and all kinds of crap. Yes, you can see the separation of wheat and chaff right before your eyes.

Yes, I kind of love the Amish distantly from here in Ireland. But someone on the forum a while back mentioned they live right amongst the Amish and they found them very,very ,very hard to live with. Which kind of sunk my boat.

My Brother Conor lives in Michican. . Years ago they stopped for a visit in Amish country. A couple of visitors though it would be funny to pour a can of coke over an Amish gentleman (relying on the fact that they are pacifists) but my brother stepped forward , told them he was Irish and not a Pacifist and knocked the coke guy out.

I love the Quakers too. I kind of think if I was not Catholic , Amish of Quaker might be nice. Really old fashioned Quaker.

I could never really be a Pacifist; too Irish. But I could pretend.
