I adore the America you speak of, Mario. I visited as a child in 83 and was blew away by it. As a student I spent the summers of 94 and 95 there. The best days of my life. In the greatest country on earth.... It had a wonderous innocence to it in those days. You could almost taste it. In fact I loved the taste of it; Whitecastles (the original burger makers in Chicago). Then there was that 'real, proper' pizza that you got there. McDonald's was a real treat too.. I remember taking my kids to Disneyland, the awe of it... Now, Ive visited in more recent times. And I've watch YouTube videos of what drugs and homelessness have done to the cities I visited. Once glorious neighbourhoods and big highways, now forlorn and crumbling. Disneyland, taken-over and now supposedly a cesspit. Even the food has gone to pot, McDonald's is absolute muck. But as I said before, my friend, it is not just your country that has succumbed. As Gods protective hand is pushed away by a wicked generation, the affects are all too apparent.
There is still an innocence in the countryside, here in the U.S. For instance, there is a night and day difference between the big state fair here in TX vs. a smaller one we went to in the more rural east TX this year. The children/teens were fresh-faced and friendly, saying ma'am and sir, and when I briefly lost track of my 2 year old, he was quickly noticed by a teenage boy who was already asking him kindly if he needed help finding his parents. A young girl in a store parking lot left her mom to run over and give my son a hug, just because he's cute... We stopped to eat at a burger place that happened to be filled with preteen and teen boy sports teams having a victory dinner... They were all so polite, no bad words, no rowdy behavior, and the coach was talking about how they pray on the field before and after every game... These things don't happen in the city/suburbs, but they are common occurences in the country where we'll be moving soon. I think the U.S. is going through a big shift. What I see is the small towns being revitalized and strengthened, people returning to the land, and the cities falling into rapid recline. I don't know what the ultimate result will be, but it's certainly interesting seeing what's happening right now. It gives me great hope.
Yes. My neighbor stopped by to let me know that he'll soon share some venison with us now that hunting season is over. Generosity is very evident in rural areas. God bless, Chris!
I suppose it was no accident that the Holy Family lived in a little rural village. Our Lady's parents kept sheep. Most Saints seem to come from the country.
I had a dream that was different many years ago on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe… the Patriarchs were all standing aligned on Roman Pillars like Stylites. Each one has their own Pillar. I walked up to one, I can’t remember now if it was Abraham or Moses, and said I know you are a Holy Man, but I am a sinner. Suddenly I was in a field walking with the Virgin and I was naked and covered from head to toe in oil. It was a good dream.
To the contrary, I dont think it would be because people here have become too decadent. The rich for sure of course but the common person here and in Europe is struggling to make ends meet, sees little to no meaningful help from our government whether it be neo-con or neo-liberal and who hand out welfare by the trillions to the ruling class in the form of corporate welfare and military contracts. The common person here is one job loss, severe illness or calamity away from destitution. One of the more powerful unions in the US can't even secure paid sick leave for it's workers. America IS a socialist country. The recipients are military contractors, corporations and in turn the ruling class. Due to all this there is a growing movement in the US of people who openly embrace the far left who are well armed, actively training, and encourage others of like mind to be as well. We have already acts of sabotage happening in various states by both fringe groups on the far left and right just as we had in WWII. The people are increasingly fed up.
There was a recent Prophecy from Our Lady in which she said that there will be Civil Wars and Wars in every Nation on Earth. I suspect this is true. Things are falling apart all around us even as I write this.
I think one thing has happened, especially in the USA is that lots of people are having their blind folds taken off. They can see the corruption all around them more clearly. Those who did their deeds in Darkness are having them taken to the Light. This is a great,great blessing.
Amen padraig, I couldn't agree more. Now it seems the task at hand is holding fast in the midst of such depravity and chaos both in the world as well as the shortcomings of those in the church. I think it will be a real struggle for those who have known no faith to avoid falling in to the camps of political extremism. As well many who do avoiding zealotry of some kind. Quite the tightrope.
Not beside the sea, about 40km inside the puget sound so well protected for the most part from the actual sea. We do have many many military installations here though as well as the largest sub base and nuclear weapons storage facility on the west coast. I live about 30 kilometers from it.
I think one of the great difficulties for me to get a handle on was how evil so may of these people are. For instant child molesting. It seems incredible to me that these people don't simply explode on the spot from shame, or that God does not strike them dead . The idea that there could be large groups of wealthy and powerful people (including women) working together to assist and procure for each other. providing aid and sustenance. I could believe it in a kind of remote way. But it is only very recently that I have come to sincere belief that it really is happening and has happened. That many of the people the most powerful, wealthy and influential people are involved up to their necks in this (of course this included Catholic Clergy of the Highest ranks, how could it not?) Of course were there is this kind of evil there is certainly also Satanism. I think it is only now that they coming right out into the open I fully believe the unbelievable. Hell is not Hot enough , nor Eternity long enough, for these vile people.
