A very, very holy and wise and discerning Prelate indeed.
and honest and it appears to me like many Poles not one to take any nonsense. The Vatican made such a wise choice here. The very man.

Dear children! God called me to lead you to Him because He is your strength. That is why I am calling you to pray to Him and to trust in Him, because He is your refuge from every evil that lurks and carries souls far from the grace and joy to which you are all called. Little children, live Heaven here on earth so that it will be good for you; and may the commandments of God be a light on your way. I am with you and I love you all with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”

    Message August 2nd, 2018.
    Dear children,
With a motherly love I am calling you to open hearts to peace; to open hearts to my Son, so that in your hearts love for my Son may sing, because only out of that love peace comes in the soul. My children, I know that you have goodness, I know that you have love – a merciful love, but many of my children still have a closed heart. They think that they can do it without directing their thoughts towards the Heavenly Father who illuminates–towards my Son who is always with you anew in the Eucharist and who desires to listen to you. My children, why do you not speak to Him? The life of each of you is important and precious, because it is a gift from the Heavenly Father for eternity. Therefore, do not ever forget to keep on thanking Him: speak to Him. I know, my children, that what is to come afterwards is unknown to you, but when your hereafter comes you will receive all the answers. My motherly love desires that you be ready. My children, by your life keep putting good feelings in the hearts of the people whom you meet, feelings of peace, goodness, love and forgiveness. Through prayer, hearken to what My Son is saying and act accordingly. Anew, I am calling you to prayer for your shepherds, for those whom my Son has called. Remember that they need prayers and love. Thank you.

Our Lady told the visionaries, that her birthday is August
5th, but we the Church also celebrate it on the day the church instituted it
    on September 8th.

    Mirjana B. said:

We celebrate Our Lady's Birthday on August the 5th, and the prayer
group fasts on bread and water and prays starting on the 2nd. She
says that rarely does anyone refuse to do this for Our Lady.

We in this prayer group have done this every year now and so, This brings me to invite the whole prayer group again this year for those who would like to do it!

Here are messages from the Blessed Mother regarding this special fast:

AT THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST 1984

    To Jelena:
This message is dedicated to the Pope and to all Christians. Prepare
the second millennium of my birth which will take place August 5th,
    1984 (M. 30).

    MAY 1984

To Jelena, after inquiring about August 5th, 1984, if they would be
    celebrating her two thousandth birthday:
Throughout the centuries, I have given myself completely to you. Is it
too much to give me, three days? Do not work on those days. Take your
rosaries and pray. Fasting has been forgotten during the last quarter
of the century, within the Catholic Church. (T. 57).

Jelena: "I know that all families can pray four hours a day. But, if I
tell that to people, they will back out."
You don't understand, that it is only one-sixth of the day? (F2, 113).

    SUNDAY, AUGUST 5TH 1984

The celebration of Mary's birthday was
preceded by three days of fasting and continuous prayer. Seventy
priests heard confessions without respite; there were conversions in
    great numbers.

In anticipation of this day the Gospa had said:

The priest who will hear confession will have great joy on that day.
During these 3 days of fasting and continuous prayer the seers say the
Blessed Virgin was "very joyful," and she repeated:
I am very happy, continue, continue. Continue to pray and to fast.
Her joy seemed to have reached a peak Sunday, August 5th. Like a
flower when it blooms, and full of joy, she said:
Continue, continue, open your hearts, ask God and I will ask for you.

For those of you who physically can, and are not sick, we try to do the fast on Bread and water. If you can't do this, then give up
something equally as meaningful. (Please, if you are on a special
diet from a doctor, you have diabetes, or other health problems,
please fast on something other then food!) The fasting on bread and
water Our Lady says is FOR THOSE WHO ARE HEALTHY.!!!!!

Remember, whatever it is, the more difficult, the more merit we can
gain and the greater the gift. Whatever it is, please do it with the
    heart.

August 5 is also celebrated as Our Lady of the Snows https://www.roman-catholic-saints.com/our-lady-of-the-snows.html

The 29th Annual Medjugorje Youth Festival started July 31 - August 6.

For the opening ceremony there were youth from 72 countries represented, Archbishop Henryk Hoser and the Apostolic Nuncio of Bosnia and Hercegovina Archbishop Luigi Pezzuto.

This is a hopeful message from the past January 25, 2011 "Dear children! Also today I am with you and I am looking at you and blessing you, and I am not losing hope that this world will change for the good and that peace will reign in the hearts of men. Joy will begin to reign in the world because you have opened yourselves to my call and to God’s love. The Holy Spirit is changing a multitude of those who have said ‘yes’. Therefore I desire to say to you: thank you for having responded to my call."

Archbishop Hoser's homily on August 5, 2018 near the closing of the 29th Annual Youth Festival held in Medjugorje

"What can we do to accomplish the works of God?"

    Dear young friends,

This is the question we ask ourselves at the end of our Festival, bursting with the experiences, the intensive moments you had in your encounters, in friendships that were strengthened and we ask ourselves for the future: "What can we do to accomplish the works of God?"

Today, as in every Holy Mass, the Lord invites us to take His gifts presented at two tables: at the table of His Word and at the table of His Eucharist. Both of these tables are absolutely necessary for our life journey to continue, our journey leading us to the final goal.

One wise saying from Africa says that if you have lost your way and do not know where to go on, you need to remember where you came from. You came from all over the world, from different continents and various countries. The differences among you are vast.

As the document for the upcoming Synod on Young People to be held this October says:

"...the remarkable social and economic inequalities that generate a climate of widespread violence and drive some young people into the world of organized crime and drug trafficking; a political system dominated by corruption, that undermines confidence in our institutions and legitimizes fatalism and disengagement; situations of war and extreme poverty that drive people to emigrate in search of a better future. In some regions, young people resent the fact that fundamental freedoms and personal autonomy are not recognized by the State, including religious freedom; whereas, in other regions, social exclusion and performance anxiety drive some young people into cycles of addiction (drugs and alcohol in particular) and social isolation. In many places, poverty, unemployment and marginalization are increasing the number of young people who live in precarious conditions, both materially, socially and politically."

We are all aware of the dramas of many refugees and immigrants throughout the world, millions of them. On the other hand, however, we have the so-called developed countries where there is an abundance of material goods and an excessive consumer mentality, the veritable dictatorship of the market, while luxurious fashion as the ideal of a selfish and insensitive life, prevails for others.

Families therefore fall apart and new families are easily created again, without one caring for the destiny of the children who are so often exposed to such difficult situations, along with both psychological and material poverty.

These environments unfortunately become the setting for a spiritual desert where solitude, meaninglessness and purposelessness of life force young people to engage in profound sorrow, depression, sometimes even suicide. Such a life is indeed a pagan life.

St. Paul had no doubts concerning such behaviour and today we heard his words:

" I declare and testify in the Lord that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds;” and he encourages us: "you should put away the old self of your former way of life, corrupted through deceitful desires, and be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new self, created in God’s way in righteousness and holiness of truth.”

    Dear youth,

You came from the world that attracts you on the one hand, and opposes you on the other. It attracts you due to numerous suggestions, due to the ever and everywhere present commercial ads, due to the many proposals about how to live our lives. It opposes you, for there are so many doubts and uncertainties, who is speaking the truth and who is lying here? Which proposals and offers are good, which are dangerous? Whom to believe and in whom should we place our trust?

The time of our youth is rather short after childhood, before the age of adulthood, and after that comes old age. It is a short time, but perhaps it is the most important one, as that is the time of basic choices and decisions that would determine our entire future life.

We, Christians, we have the responsibility of discovering our Teacher, Jesus Christ, who, after one of his disciples asks him, "How can we know the way?” He says: “I am the way, the truth and the life.”

The answer is concise, but it contains everything. So, I hope that during this Festival you were able to sense at least the beginning of the journey you are to take.

The person of Jesus is truly fascinating, only if we get to know Him.

Now, hear this conversation: “And the two disciples heard what He said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned round, saw them following and said, ‘What do you want?’ They answered, ‘Rabbi-which means Teacher- where do you live?’ He replied, ‘Come and see’, so they went and saw where he lived, and stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.”

Today, at 7 p.m., Jesus came to us and asked us the same question: What do you look for? Who do you look for, and why?

Jesus is the one safe Teacher. Do not be late to enroll in His school. In the same school, you will find one other safe Teacher – Mary, the Mother of God, Mary, the Educator and the Queen of Peace! One such school is worth more than the finest world universities! Mary does not get tired of directing us to her Son: “Do whatever He tells you to do!” This is the answer to the initial question: "What can we do to accomplish the works of God?” Amen.

The message Our Lady gave through Ivan during his prayer group’s meeting at the statue on Apparition Hill. Here is what Ivan shared after the apparition:

Also to you, I would like to bring closer what was the most important from this meeting. Also, today, Our Lady came to us very joyful and happy and at the beginning, She greeted all of us with Her motherly greeting, “Praised be Jesus, my dear children.” Then, for a while, Our Lady, with Her arms extended, prayed over all of us here. She especially prayed over the sick who were present. Then Our Lady said:

“Dear children, also today, I desire to call you in a special way to forgiveness. Forgive, dear children, and like this, open the way to the Holy Spirit to your heart. I pray, dear children, for all of you, and intercede for you before my Son. Pray together with me for my plans. Thank you, dear children, for also today having responded to my call.”

Then Our Lady blessed all of us with Her motherly blessing, and blessed everything you brought to be blessed. I recommended all of you, your needs, your intentions, your families and especially I recommended all of you, the sick, who are present. After that, Our Lady continued to pray for a while, and She left in that prayer, in an illuminated Sign of the Cross, with a farewell, “Go in peace my dear children.”

Homily of the Apostolic Nuncio Henryk Hoser, S.A.C. the Feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Medjugorje, September 9, 2018
    date: 10.09.2018.
Your Excellency, Mons. Apostolic Nuncio to Bosnia and Herzegovina,

    Your Excellency, Bishop from Paraguay,

    Dear priests and religious,

Dear parishioners and pilgrims, dear brothers and sisters,

One day after the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we gathered for the 23rd Sunday in the Year, so as to celebrate the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, just a few days before its feast.

How come that the Cross - the instrument of the cruellest and most shameful death, became the symbol of the Christianity? This cross is exalted on the towers of the churches and shrines, it has been erected at the tops of so many hills, it is hanging at the walls of our homes and working places and we put it around our necks proudly.

At the time of the apostles, the cross did not have good reputation: it was foolishness to Greeks who looked for wisdom, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, as St. Paul said. (1 Cor 1, 22-23) We notice that today there is a battle held against the Cross that disturbs many, even though it became the noble symbol of various civil traditions such as the Red Cross, the cross of honour for different merits and accomplishments as well as others.

The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross gives as the new opportunity to recall the greatness and the value of the Cross. We discover that Jesus’ Cross, as the symbol of the infinite love, possesses the attractive strength within it.

    Let us see why.

In the first reading (Phil 2, 6-11) St. Paul shows us how Christ humbled and emptied himself, came down from high above to the deepest end:

Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped, rather he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness, and found human in appearance, he humbled himself…

God, who became men, lowered himself. The infinite becomes ultimate and confined. Then he becomes obedient to death, even death on a cross.

This is the death of a criminal despised and rejected by everyone!

In the Apostles Creed we profess that he descended into the hell, to the very end of suffering, to the end of the death!

Man-God had tasted the destiny intended to him by people he came to save!

Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

This is how St. Paul explains Christ’s exaltation, this incomparable act of the Merciful Father.

St. Cyprian helps us understand that foolishness of God. He says, that His Son wanted to become Son of Man, so we would become sons of God. He wanted to humble himself so as to raise his fallen people. He suffered for the wounds he got, so our wounds would be healed. He became the servant, so we, servants and slaves, could become free. He suffered death so through his death, we mortal people would become immortal.

Now we well understand why we venerate here every Friday Holy Cross of Jesus. Veneration of the Holy Cross should be, above all, the act of thanksgiving and consolation. Why do we pray the Way of the Cross along Cross Mountain on whose top we have glorified Cross dominating over the area, erected in the Holy Year of Redemption in 1933?

In the midst of his indescribable and immense suffering, Jesus did not think of himself, but he always thinks of us, sinners. Raised on the Cross, he pronounces the words that save the world. Those first are most moving surely when he says:

“Forgive them Father, for they do not know what they are doing!” (Lk 23, 34)

The response to vastness of sin of killing God and utter blindness of those who did it is the forgiveness of God who is rejected and crushed.

Charles Journet wrote that through God’s forgiveness „in the hearts, where sin mowed down roses of first love, their purity and freshness, now there are equally as beautiful, sometimes even prettier darker roses of other love, their repentance, their tears and their fervour.“ What a hope for us sinners!

Other piercing words come also from the Cross: „Behold, your Mother.“ (Jn 19, 27). Even when dying, Jesus does not leave us orphans, but He leaves us His Mother. What a love and generosity!

The Cross became the symbol of the victory, the victory confirmed to us in the Resurrection. Ever since then, the liturgy has been pointing often to the Risen Christ with the Cross, glorified Cross in the background.

Here in Medjugorje, the Risen Christ that faithful venerate so much contains the mystery of the Cross being is the source of our salvation and the promise of the life worthy of God. Amen.

  11. From Sr. Emmanuel's latest newsletter from Medjugorje:

    Vicka:

Vicka celebrated her 54th birthday on September 3, in private with her family. It is beautiful to see her joy after the Blessed Mother kissed her tenderly on both cheeks as do the mothers of this world. Vicka says that this kiss is a heavenly moment for her, and she prepares for it a month in advance with a count-down! During the apparition, Mary gives thanks to God for Vicka's life, and Vicka thanks the Mother of God for all the Graces received by her, enumerating them with an overflowing joy. Since Vicka often told me that, although she was chosen to be a visionary, she was "not special but equal to others", I am convinced that on our birthday, the Blessed Mother also comes to kiss all those who open up to her during the apparition. Vicka confirmed this to me - A note to lovers of heavenly kisses!

    She pronounced my name!
In February 1991, I was blessed to bring Vicka to Paris for a short mission in France. I was supposed to pick her up at her home on a particular morning, and I said to her the day before: "Tomorrow I will come by at 4 in the morning with the taxi, be ready!" At 4:00 am, I find Vicka and we get in the cab. During the journey, I ask her how we could organize a place in Paris where she would be able to receive the daily apparition. But she replied: "No need, the Gospa already appeared to me this morning! You know, when I travel, it happens often, she appears to me before I leave. So yesterday she said to me: "Since Sister Emmanuel will pick you up tomorrow at 4 am, I will appear to you shortly before her arrival..." I was taken aback, and said to Vicka: "What? The Blessed Mother said my name!!??" "Yes," replied Vicka in a perfectly natural tone, "It's normal, she always does that!" But for me it was an unforgettable grace. It made my day! WOW! The Mother of God arranged Her schedule according to My decision, and she pronounced my name!

We are too oblivious to the extreme closeness of the Lord and his Mother to the smallest details of our daily lives!

Dearest Gospa, every day you say our name before the Father and intercede for each one of us. We thank you so very much! We beg you, remind us also to often say your own sweet name that chases away the darkness, and that of your Son Jesus, the Name above all names!

PRAYER FOR PEACE IN THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT STEPHEN IN VIENNA 09/21/2018 Thousands of people gathered yesterday, September 20, 2018, in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna to pray for peace in the spirit of Medjugore. After the hymns and the prayers, the visionary Ivan Dragicevic from Medjugorje in the cathedral during the prayer of the Rosary had the apparition of the Madonna. At that moment, it was quiet in the cathedral. The believers were immersed in prayer. Ivan said that Our Lady was very happy and prayed especially for priests present. In addition, Our Lady calls us to holiness in the family. Then followed the solemn Holy Mass with Cardinal Schönborn and the Special Representative of the Archbishop of Medjugorje Hoser. The archbishop preached very positively about his experiences in and with Medjugorje. He recalled the importance of confession, prayer, fasting and repentance. This was followed by worship with songs of Medjugorje. Finally, Cardinal Schönborn went with the monstrance through the cathedral to bless the faithful.

Archbishop Hoser gives the homily at St. James Church – September 24
    September 25, 2018

    Dear Family of Mary!

Today we receive a message from Our Lady! Let’s pray as we wait, with great anticipation!I want to share with you a portion of the homily given by the Apostolic Visitor, Archbishop Henryk Hoser at Holy Mass in Medjugorje yesterday (September 24, 2018). The Archbishop spoke so beautifully about the light which is Christ, and which shines through the Scriptures so that we can find our way. But I want to share the latter part of his homily where he talks about the crisis in the Church and the role Medjugorje plays in this most difficult time.

Archbishop Henryk Hoser, homily at St. James Church, Medjugorje, September 24, 2018:

Today we have gathered in great numbers. And we represent the great family of Medjugorje. It is the family that has been dispersed all over the world….

Our Church has been endangered. It is in trouble, not just from the outside because of persecution (though Christianity today is the most persecuted religion in the whole world). But there is other trouble, which is the inner crisis of the Church. This is the trouble that comes from the lack of faith in lay people, priests and bishops. It is those who have lost the light on their way. And they allow deeds and terrible, horrible sins. The greatest sins of these people is when they are silent. When they silently agree to something and they fall from the Church. Holy Fathers John Paul II and Benedict XVI said that people live as though God does not exist at all. If they have not been lit with the source of Light, then they will be in darkness. And this trouble in which the Church finds itself, is a challenge for us and also a possibility. A possibility that we can come back to the authenticity of the Church.

You know that the human body is made of cells. Cells make up our body. Each one of us, each faithful, is a cell of the Mystical Body of Christ. And we make that Mystical Body of Christ that has been immersed in Mankind. If the cells are healthy, then the body will be healthy too. We need to be living cells of the Mystical Body that lives the fullness of life.

The Church of Jesus Christ is the universal family from all over the world. Medjugorje has become an image of the universality of the Church. I think that pilgrims who are coming here come from about 100 countries. We had the beautiful Youth Festival here in August. And there were young people from 72 countries of the world. That is how our Medjugorje family needs to be spread all over the world so it will be universally present all over the world.

Our Queen, our Mother, she is our leader. She leads us on the way of the Light. She is very close to each one of us. She follows us, she gives us guidelines of what to do, she leads us to Christ. You can express this Marian spirituality when you pray before her statue (on Apparition Hill), when you climb Cross Mountain where Jesus gave His life for us, when you pray before the Risen Christ statue, and when you come down to the doors of the Church, that was born from the side of Christ, from His pierced side.

We can see the Church is the New Eve who was born from the New Adam. The personification of the New Eve is the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is the Mother of the Church. The New Adam is Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Church. So let’s be proud that we are Christians. Let us come to the source of Light, to the source of Life. In that way we will help in the crisis of the Church. Medjugorje has become a place where this renewal of the Church takes place, where the Resurrection of the Church takes place.

Let us continue in that way of life in the Light and let us follow Him, He who is never silent. Amen.

Yes, Medjugorje is a place of renewal and resurrection for the Church! We have seen it in action all these years. Medjugorje is Our Mother’s peace plan, her plan to save the Church and the World. We can be part of her plan, if we follow her, and live the life she is giving us. It is the life of true faith! Thank you, Archbishop Hoser, for joining us in this plan from heaven!!

Our Lady once said to us:

October 25, 1996 “Dear children! Today I invite you to open yourselves to God the Creator, so that He changes you. Little children, you are dear to me. I love you all and I call you to be closer to me and that your love towards my Immaculate Heart be more fervent. I wish to renew you and lead you with my Heart to the Heart of Jesus, which still today suffers for you and calls you to conversion and renewal. Through you, I wish to renew the world. Comprehend, little children, that you are today the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Little children, I invite you and I love you and in a special way implore: Convert!” Thank you for having responded to my call.”

    In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

“Dear children, I am calling you to be courageous and to not grow weary, because even the smallest good—the smallest sign of love—conquers evil which is all the more visible. My children, listen to me so that good may overcome, so that you may come to know the love of my Son. This is the greatest happiness—the hands of my Son that embrace, of Him who loves the soul, of Him who has given Himself for you and is always giving Himself anew in the Eucharist, of Him who has the words of eternal life. To come to know His love, to follow in His footsteps, means to have a wealth of spirituality. This is the wealth which gives good feelings and sees love and goodness everywhere. Apostles of my love, my children, be like the rays of the sun which with the warmth of my Son’s love warm everyone around them. My children, the world needs apostles of love; the world needs much prayer, but prayer spoken with the heart and the soul and not only pronounced with the lips. My children, long for holiness but in humility, in the humility which permits my Son to do that which He desires through you. My children, your prayers, your words, thoughts and actions—all of this either opens or closes the doors to the Kingdom of Heaven for you. My Son showed you the way and gave you hope, and I am consoling and encouraging you because, my children, I had come to know pain, but I had faith and hope. Now I have the reward of life in the Kingdom of my Son. Therefore, listen to me, have courage and do not grow weary. Thank you.”

  18. He's a good man. He was also a missionary in Rwanda when young (trained as a physician before joining the Pallottines) and used to bring back reports from there to JPII and thus had some positive influence on the recognizing of Kibeho. If only we had more spiritual straight shooters who still recognize the equal importance of the mystical side to a complete Body of Christ.....and actually DO what our Lady and our Lord so strongly tell us to do with these means of help. If the Church weren't so defective now we wouldn't need so many helps to our faith. And even most of those aren't listened to....beginning with Fatima for these times. Hoser must be driving the progressive hard liners nuts!

The day that Bergoglio prohibited a meeting about apparitions in Medjugorje

Regarding the case of Medjugorje, which is still being studied, Pope Francis recounts that “when I was in Buenos Aires, I prohibited a meeting, which took place anyway. They knew, however, that I wasn’t in agreement.”

Francis is referring to what happened when one of the Medjugorje “visionaries” visited the archdiocese he was heading at the time, for an encounter scheduled at a church. Then-Archbishop Bergoglio opposed the meeting (without expressing his opinion regarding the authenticity of the apparitions) because “one of the visionaries had spoken and explained a bit of everything, and Our Lady was supposed to appear to him at 4:30 PM. That is to say, he knew the Virgin Mary’s schedule. So I said: No, I don’t want this kind of thing here. I said no, not in the church.”

The pope noted that “we must distinguish; however, despite this, God performs miracles in Medjugorje. In the midst of the craziness of human beings, God continues to work miracles.”

Is he referring to when Ivan Dragecevic visited in March 2013? The reports said that Cardinal Bergoglio was okay with it https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=734408529919535&id=230266287000431 from the post:
Visionary Ivan Dragicevic’s public apparition on March 6 (2013) at Luna Park, Buenos Aires, an arrangement approved of by then-Cardinal Bergoglio
“He welcomed Fr. Jozo Zovko while on his mission in Argentina. He welcomed Fr. Danko last year, for his mission through Argentina. And Cardinal Bergoglio allowed (visionary) Ivan to spread his witness in Buenos Aires early this March. Only a few days before leaving for Rome to join the conclave, Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio gave his approval for Ivan to receive the apparition at Luna Park”

Ivan further visited the Malvinas Microstadium where he drew about 5,500 people on March 4, a slightly higher number than at Luna Park two days later.
