The European Union is communism coming again. It is old ideas cloaked in splendid new words. President Gorbachev said the EU is the old Soviet Union dressed in Western clothes.

 

Thank you for your insightful reply. I agree with most all of your view. However, I have felt the way communism has affected us in the west is more like we have been sucked in by the nanny state mentality. It had seemed to me that it paid to be living in sin, since you could get more state benefits by rejecting the traditional family. Now we seem to have the modern family which turns its back on its elderly unless they have monetary benefits to supply the luxuries of life. Maybe I am wrong, just an observation.

All the other isms you mention seem to me to be as a result of moral degeneration, lack of traditional Christian instruction either in school or from the pulpit. The influence of TV, media and film. But we can't isolate our younger ones from society, but just hope they will come to understand. Perhaps it will take an economic collapse for the last two generations to realise, it is not so bad to have to make do and mend instead of throwing out things and getting the latest fashion in clothes and furniture. And not so much holiday as Holy Days to recollect and rejuvenate and

Nowadays the younger ones expect every material comfort from day one as a right.
