I happened to see the story on Twitter last night. It makes me so sad when I hear that someone is walking away from the Catholic church. I understand that things are very, very bad, I just don't know how someone can loose their faith and trust in Christ. Someone in Shawn Hannity's position would have the perfect opportunity to defend the Truth, to act as an example for the faithful to stay the course no matter how far the institution falls off the rails. I watch Shawn's show on Fox News all the time, so this is very disappointing. I hope and pray that Shawn finds his way home.
not too worry Padraig...Gods got this! Our Lady is also on this. Just pray for souls not to abandon ship! We know how the book ends. All we need to remember...and do...is pray, pray pray! Heaven wins without question!
It's so strange how all this came out into the open so quickly. It must have been going on forever and we never knew. It's like suddenly realising your house is about to fall in as it's crawling with termites.
Oh AED...I’m sorry...this flue is certainly making a early and hard presences this year! Only consolation is that you’ll not be sick over Christmas. I didn’t get the vaccine...never did. Don’t trust it. Keeping my fingers crossed and hands washed!
zinc tablets to shorten the flue...tamaflue ( spelling ?)prescription as well. I have them both ready just in case.
May God forgive the peoplereponsible for all this. So many of them. None of them must believe there really is a hell..or even a God. But there is..ah.. there is and He is very,very Just.
I saw this about hannity as well....sad...like tons of other Catholics who do not understand what they are doing...thanks to corrupt hierarchy!
I honestly think his faith in the church organization is the reason he left. I believe that his faith in God remains...but he doesn’t understand that the organization and the faith are in conflict. He can’t separate the two... sad, like thousands of others.
ohhh you are so right...it’s been going on for decades Padraig. Our eyes are open now....exactly why we need to....and know who to pray for. We are such a small “woke” community....but powerful!
I agree...you couldn’t believe in God and persist in this taking down of Gods church. There will be justice for those who knowingly destroy Mother church...probably less so for the simply misguided. Well meaning catholics who abandon the church, but not the faith. Those who are the real culprits will answer to a God...regardless if they believe in Him or not. God knows our souls and our intentions. Vengeance is mine says the Lord....and He wasn’t kidding.
I have listened to Sean Hannity for years. He is a nonpracticing Catholic, as have heard him declare he is not in line with many Catholic teachings, long before the clerical sexual abuse.
Malachi Martin when asked in an I interview about these pernicious prelates said "the simple answer is they have lost their faith...but they dont know they have lost it..." makes me think of scripture saying God allowed them a great delusion. It scares me. Truly. I lost my faith when young but by my mother's prayers and the Blessed Mother's kindness I got it back. It is the pearl of great price. The very greatest gift.
Yes, as the Cathechism of the Catholci Chccuh teaches us, those who pray will be most certainly be saved and those who do not pray will most certainly be damned. Prayer was never somekind of bolt on extra. It lies at the very heart of everything. How can we claim to love God if we never even talk to Him? It is absurd.
The lady who is the host on Women of Grace on ewtn said that her grandmother had 13 grandchildren and prayed a rosary for each one of them every day, 13 rosaries. That lady said (her name is Johnette) that she was away from the Church but her grandmother’s rosaries brought her back. I have heard her say that before and I am impressed by it. It was most likely my grandmother’s prayers that brought me back as well.

Mothers and Grandmothers remind me of Our Blessed Lady herself. No one gets into heaven without Our Blessed Mother giving them a big shove through the door. Very often a very,very big shove indeed. The same is true of our Earthy Mothers and grandmothers. Few if any souls ever get to heaven without these ladies shoving them through like crazy. That is why a bad woman with children is so scarey. If their mother does pray how will their poor kids make it? Which is why evil runs in familes like sewage through a gutter. If the mother turns bad, it is pretty well certain the whole crop will die.
AED...thanks for the reminder of a mother’s prayer for her children. If you are the result of that prayer, you have really given mothers great hope because you are surely one of the most faithful I’ve seen on this forum. Thank you!
