Well, at least it looks like Liz Cheney will be voted out of office. Her opponent, Harriet Hageman, had boasted of being Cheney's friend when endorsing her in her run for Wyoming's seat in the 2016 Congressional race, having called her "a true conservative". Now Hageman is opposing Cheney in the state's Republican primary.

(For the non-US citizens here, a primary is an election which chooses the person who will represent that particular party in the next election for that office. In most states, such as my own -- Iowa -- primaries are "closed". That means that at some point you have to go to an election official and declare a party affiliation -- Republican, Democrat, Socialist Workers, Free Beer Party [yes, that is a thing]. Usually that's when you register to vote, but you can change your party affiliation at any time. When you go to vote in the primary, your name is checked against a list of those who have declared to be a member of that party as part of a check to make sure you're voting at the correct polling place in the right precinct. If you're not on the list, you don't get to vote in the primary. This is to keep people from another party voting for a weaker candidate to increase their own candidate's chances.

Wyoming is one of the few states which have "open" primaries, which means you don't have to declare a party affiliation to vote in a party's primary; you just have to be a registered voter. In the past few years, Cheney's voting record has more closely matched the stands taken by the Democrat party instead of her own Republican party, including her vote to impeach Trump and her leadership on the Jan. 6 Committee. She is now what is known as a "RINO", Republican In Name Only. She is taking advantage of Wyoming's open primary status to actively encourage Democrats to come vote for her in the Republican primary.)

Wyoming is an overwhelmingly Republican state -- only 17% of the voting population identify as Democrat, so even if Cheney's strategy works it's unlikely to bring in enough cross-over voters to make a difference. There are 5 people seeking the Republican party nomination to run for the US House of Representatives; but only Hageman has Trump's endorsement and is the leader of the pack. In the most recent polls, Cheney has an only 27% approval rating while Hageman has a 56% approval rating, with the remaining 17% divided among the other 3 candidates.

What remains to be seen is how much cheating the Democrats will do in this election. I think a LOT more attention is going to be paid as to how the votes are counted this time around.

About not watching the news, I read this passage recently about St Therese de Lisieux. It's a quote from her book where she says that she saw a photo in the papers about Pranzini, the condemned murderer she interceded to save. I bolded the passage below that stood out:

"...I had faith in the infinite mercy of Jesus, but I asked Him only for "a sign" of repentance for my simple consolation. My prayer was answered to the letter! Despite the fact that father had forbidden us to read any newspapers, I do not believe that I was disobedient in reading the passages that concerned Pranzini. The morning after his execution, I found the paper La Croix. I opened it hurriedly and what did I find? Ah my tears betrayed my emotions and I was obliged to hide them. Pranzini had not confessed, he went up the scaffold and was preparing to place his head through the grim opening, when all of a sudden, he turned around, seized by a sudden inspiration, grabbed a Crucifix that a priest had presented to him and and kissed the Holy Wounds three times ."

St Therese's father forbade his girls to read the press! It's good advice.

Yes, I understand. I should have said that Fr Nix gives a warning at the start of the interview that the content is not for children or sensitive souls.

I heard Zachary's testimony at a retreat years ago and was shocked to hear these things then too as I had no idea. But some of what he said was a grace. He talked about a wicked game that he and others used to play that is almost 100 % effective at summoning spirits. Well my daughter told me that at a slumber party when she was 11, some of the kids played that game and they there were totally spooked because something manifested itself. 11 years old - I was shocked! But I remembered the name of the game from Zachary's talk and told my daughter to tell her friends never to play this game.

Zachary also talks about the size of the groups out there and it is an eye-opener about how they operate. Parishes and others would benefit from knowing that entire armies are working against us and luring kids into their nets.

Well, I have a nest in my neighborhood and I am learning through that. But I could not abide that video. We think newspapers are bad to read?
Scripture says to think on blessed things. The problem, too, with graphic evil is that it stays. It never goes away. I somehow doubt that Fr Ripperger would have conducted this video.
I am glad you caught your daughter in the “game”, though.

I had the same feelings when I watched an interview of Zachary a couple years ago. I felt extremely uneasy. I understand that he's trying to tell his story as a warning to others...but I wondered a bit at the need for him to include so much detail. I know he lived through it, but it's strange that it doesn't seem to bother him to tell these horrible things... and might I even say he seemed to almost enjoy sharing how good he was at spells and other things he did. Like he still has some pride in it. So, I don't know. It gave me some pause and I'm not fully sure what to think of him.

I think I know what game you're talking about. Involving a mirror? That game was all the rage when I was a kid. I ran into it several times and was encouraged to participate, but thank God I always had the sense to say, no thanks.

…I gave it up almost 2 years ago. I was made instantly irritable by it in both it’s subject matter and bias. Watching news would make me physically agitated to the point of feeling sick. I don’t miss it just like I don’t miss Facebook

Well, you've inspired me and last night I resisted the urge to turn the TV on at all. I feel better for it today. One day at a time.

At home, I dont have TV at all, but I'm housesitting for a family who is overseas and while Im here I tend to watch news and some programmes on TV. But I notice I quickly become depressed when here.

We have so many converts today who share their conversion stories over and over again because they are told that they must do so for the conversion of others. Gloria Polo, Marino Restrepo don't have very glorious pasts either. I've heard several prayerful people say that Gloria's testimony is too negative and not uplifting citing the same reasons you cite, because we're supposed to leave it all behind. But she was told to tell her story by Jesus and if that's the case, then who are men to tell them not to talk? Zachary says that Our Lady told him his mission was to help stop abortion. He asked her how and she said "use what you know". That's what he is doing and it is putting the truth out there. Fr Nix interviewed him for over 2 hrs and finds it an important testimony.

I'll edit my original post above to include a warning that people treat the post like the news: don't consume it unless the Spirit guides you.

As for Zachary, hopefully people who watched and it will pray for him, I know that he has had a very rough time.

I do understand your point. But I have no need to know about spells and curses. Thanks for understanding. I do know that Satanism is the key to appeasing Moloch through abortion. That is what I need to know. I knew that before the video.
My other concern is that I don’t know if simply saying the St Michael prayer a couple of times is enough. We have to be very careful not to open a channel in our souls for this evil. Imho
I do appreciate that you have addressed my concerns.

The American author Flannery O Conner who was a very devout Catholic was accused of writing grim bloody novels with horrific characters. She said in response that people had become so jaded spiritually and so numbed that to open them up to the spiritual landscape and spiritual realities she had to create what she called "grotesques". I admit the interview was disturbing. Extremely disturbing. But I understand the need for the grim details. It shakes us awake to this horror we have permitted--and sadly have grown accustomed to. Having said that, i prayed the Precious Blood of Jesus prayer throughout the interview because I too sensed a need for protection.
Fr Nix is a straight arrow true and dedicated priest. Not one to do anything outside the scope of the faith. I am sure he felt that this story needed to be told I spite of its horror. A warning would have been a good idea though. It could very much disturb tender souls. It is not for everybody.

For me the video was an eye opener and helpful.

It revealed the total depravity if our age and gave insights into the spiritual battle we are facing. Also, it revealed that our political leaders are infected with evil and capable of anything including new holocausts.

For we fight not against flesh and blood but principalities and powers.

The power of the rosary is infinitely greater than any spell or charm.

    Ave Maria.
