Dolours, thank you for posting these videos. I teared up when I finally managed to open this page today and found the videos with this beloved Bishop leading the preparation for Consecration. You can see a test for Julia earlier in the thread. I had tried a few times to open this without success. It is just another proof the one with the hoof was frustrating my attempt to ask if there was anyone making the Consecration this year. It is very important for everyone to try and join. This year there are quite a few parishes here in UK making this Consecration; because the Bishops of England are to renew the dedication of England to Our Lady of Walsingham this year. A huge historical event. Please God there will be many people joining this year. As I write there is a perfume around me that tells me the Immaculate Heart of Mary is very keen for us to do this. Praised be Jesus and Mary.
Just a question on the start date here. On post #4, Potato Sack has a list of start dates and it says on a leap year the start date is Feb. 21, so this year the start date would be Feb. 21'st? Now you have read about it...pick a date to do it!! The following are dates you can do your consecration according to Gaitely's book. It includes the dates from de Montfort and some additional dates too. Start Jan 9 - consecration day Feb 11, Our Lady of Loudes Start Feb 20 (or 21 during leap years) - consecration day March 25, The Annunciation Start April 10 - consecration day May 13, Our Lady of Fatima Start April 28 - consecration day May 31, the Visitation Start June 13 - consecration day July 16, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Start Juy 13 - consecration day August 15, The Assumption Start July 20 - consecration day August 22, Queenship of Mary Start Aug 6 - consecration day Sept 8, Nativity of Mary Start Aug 10 - consecration day Sept 12, Holy Name of Mary Start Aug 13 - consecration day Sept 15, Our Lady of Sorrows Start Sept 4 - consecration day Oct 7, Our Lady of the Rosary Start Oct 19 - consecration day Nov 21, Presentation of Mary Start Nov 5 - consecration day Dec 8, Immaculate Conception Start Nov 9 - consecration day Dec 12, Our Lady of Guadalupe Start Nov 29 - consecration day Jan 1, Mother of God Start Dec 31 - consecration day Feb 2, Presentation of the Lord
I thought you'd like them, Julia, and I'm glad that you were finally able to open them. Ideally, just the address line would show up on the page, making it possible to fit all the links into one or two posts. I don't know how to do that. The only way I know how to post a link is to copy and paste it from the address bar. Sometimes that works out with just the address link show and sometimes it's the whole video showing up in the post but I don't know why that happens. That's great news about the Bishops consecrating England to Our Lady of Walsingham. What date are you beginning the preparation for the consecration? I might start on that date. Just on a side note, and not intending to take this thread off track, could I ask everyone to add just one Our Father or Hail Mary that we Catholics don't lose sight of our need to forgive our trespassers.
Thank you Dolours. You asked what day I will begin the preparation for the consecration. It is due to start on 21st February this year. normally it would be twentieth but because it is a Leap Year we start one day later. I see other posts earlier on in the thread intending to start 21st February. Your prayer request taken on board. Hail Mary full of grace, The Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Jesus.
With the preparation for consecration due to start in two days from now 21st February, the video seems a good one in preparation. Interesting insights into the Warning/Illumination of conscience as well as talk of Consecration to Jesus through Mary.
My original 33 day consecration through St Louis deMonfort was the 21 to the March 25 over 25 years ago. I'm glad to be renewing it on these same dates.
Dolours. May i add a very big thank you from me for finding those you tube videos. I see this was done last year. I have only looked at this thread now. And what a wonderful thing you brought to the thread. A little technical info which may aid others reading. Especially those who have read about the problems Julia has had trying to open this thread. I access the forum using an android tablet. Quite posh but eventually even its large 'working' memory gets filled up, if over the years i add more and more apps, save photos etc. Well what i am trying to get to is that i have experienced the exact problems Julia has had. My Firefox browser repeatedly crashed when i tried to go though page 1 of this thread with all the videos posted. So Dolours i offer this little knowledge i have mastered about you tube www access. When you begin watching the video you should see a 'share' option. Click on it and then you should be able to copy the www address that gets you directly to that video. This is what i have done and provide here the direct clickable www address to the first video.
Weird ! The www address turns into the video! https://youtu.be/iTL3BqBq_xA [QUOTEQUOTE] Not sure how i finally got to spoil the auto conversion of the www so you can see for yourself what you would be wanting to copy at 'share' option of the video. Perhaps someone could complete the www addresses for the rest of the videos.
Thanks, Jerry, but I tried your method and it didn't work for me. I had hoped that the Diocese would have a play list with all the videos but they don't have all the days on their playlist. I think that perhaps it would be better if I were to edit out the videos from my earlier posts because they're not much use if they prevent people accessing the thread. I'll start a different thread just for the videos so they're still on the forum for Rory. Thanks again for trying to sort it out for me. OK, I've edited my post, removing the videos from this thread. The videos are now on a separate thread. Here's a link to the thread: http://motheofgod.com/threads/videos-st-luis-de-montford-method.14413/
EWTN have uploaded to youtube a playlist of Fr. Gaitley's 33 Days to Morning Glory with an Irish Dominican reading the reflections from Fr. Gaitley's book. Here's a link to the playlist (hopefully all the videos won't show up on the thread): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_9yaNCbB144_PNfO4PG8q8YRQHTe4Jfy
SgC i am assigning you the role to post each day as we go through the period of preparation for the consecration. To keep us on track . I am in England. I made a pilgrimage to Walsingham a few years ago. It was a bit of very positive news about the Catholic church in England that the English bishops plan to consecrate England to Our Lady of Walsingham. This year. What better push for me to try again to concecrate myself to Our Lady.
