    Day 27:

This is an important time for me in our preparation for consecration. I try to spend it with Our Lady at the foot of the Cross. It was here where she was told by Jesus to embrace me as her son. It is here where I will renew my consecration to her as my Mother, Mary Immaculate. It is a week to unload the burdens of my heart and ask the Holy Spirit for the courage to surrender more fully. This time next year, the persecution will be hitting much closer to home and I will have to trust in the Two Hearts more fully. I must prepare myself and my loved ones for the days ahead.

Ps 73 Who else have I in the heavens? None besides Thee delights me upon the earth! Though my flesh and my heart fail, God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever!

This morning the Lord provided me with a confirmation. In Day 28 of 33 Days to Morning Glory, I understood something that hadn't penetrated my thick skull in my previous consecrations! When I entrust myself to Our Lady, she unites me more deeply with Jesus on the Cross and with His redeeming consecration. In so doing, the depth of my prayers of reparation in the Divine Mercy Chaplet are marvelously strengthened, too! This fills me with great joy because too often I feel like a wimpy intercessor.

The confirmation comes in after I read the latest entry in the Pelianito entry: http://pelianito.stblogs.com/

Notice this beautiful, short paragraph in the middle:

This image has given me great hope. Like a mother bird tossing the fledglings from the nest, let us immerse all those in our spiritual territory in the Ocean of Mercy.

O Mary conceived without sin, toss me from any nest of comfort that hinders my complete consecration to the Two Hearts!

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

Yes Mario, I am trying to give Jesus everything...surrender everything, down to the last shred of my will, nail that to the cross, so Jesus can fill me with his will (obviously I have been reading Mark Mallett too). It is so hard to do. As you say, this time next year who knows if we will even be on this loving forum renewing our consecrations together once again. Oh Mary, let me have great devotion and trust in you to get us through the times ahead!!

Oh Mario, I could do these consecrations 20 times and still learn something new! Oh Holy Spirit, enlighten me...you know I am at times dense

It has been incredibly short this time - the thread hasn't had many entries, and I'm afraid I didn't post anything after the beginning. I found the Gaitley book to be very rich and powerful - last year I wasn't sure it was 'enough' as there is not a lot of formal prayer in it. But there is much to ponder, and we imitate Mary when we ponder. There's a lot about me that is imperfect, and a lot that our Mother will have to sort out, I only hope I can let her do so. It's all a work in progress.

Years ago when I first heard about the Consecration I thought it wasn't for me. Instead I had in mind joining a Third Order and developing my spirituality in the way of the Benedictines. Gaitley has a quote from one of the Popes saying that the Consecration isn't set in stone, and each person will live it differently. I wish I'd known that then! Personally, I can't think of any time in the future when I wouldn't want to be consecrated in this way.

Yes Clare...this flew by for me. I wanted to post more, but I just didn't have the time. I did de Montfort for the first time, and it was more time consuming and made me ponder in a different way. I did enjoy the formal prayers and hope to continue the litany to the holy spirit daily. They are both great methods for consecration, and glad I have done it both ways. As far as posting, each year the thread takes on a different personality and I try to not push it one way or the other, but just let it evolve in its own. This year was definately quiet. I think maybe because most had done it before or multipe times before. Perhaps next year it will be different. I am sure the world will be very different...maybe even radically different. There may be a lot of first timers next year who will need guidance in their consecration and we will all be here for that. If the forum is still around...I pray it is.

I would like to thank everyone for joining me again for my consecration to Jesus through Mary. It has been a blessed 33 days of lots of internal reflection and prayer. Let us all pray for each other as we live out our consecrations as we are called to do. I believe our blessed mother is happy today!!

    PS,

What a wonderful journey! I tried to remember to hold all of you up as I made my personal trek to re-consecration. The Heart of Our Mother is so full of tender love for each of us.:) It real is a win-win proposition. If one honestly compares the left column of Mother Teresa's Covenant with the corresponding right column, you will catch a glimpse of her generosity. We surrender and she pours God's graces into our hearts! Alleluia! :ROFLMAO:Thank you Mary for walking all the way with us!

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
