consecration renewal time...who is with me?

Last year I used the Totus Tuus a contemplative Approach to total consecration to Jesus through Mary from the community of St. John. Two years ago I used the 33 Days to Mornin Glory.
I'm with you again and will go back to the St. Louis DeMontfort 33 day consecration. It has been several years ago that I used this and it will be good to use again. Thanks for the invite!

 

I'd like to join if it's not too late--my Lenten internet "fast" is almost over!

This is my third consecration. The previous two I used 33 Days to Morning Glory. This time around, I believe I finally have the prayer discipline to use de Montfort's version. Sounds like there will be a mix of what people are using. This is usually the way it is and I think ideal. When people post on the 33 Days reflection, it will bring back to memory what I read the past 2 years so I will be able to contemplate that too!

and it is not too late if you are still considering doing this...we'll take anyone until we start on the 10th!

Is it just me or does it feel strange to "break" the lenten fast?
I feel like I'm cheating, I'll have to ponder this.

I' m so exited to do this, now this time I want to go all the way and truly give my life entirely to God.

I've gone through some not very good situations lately, this will not make me give up, just the opposite!

I told my blessed mother today, I will place my life in your hands, I will give you all that I have, just take my hand and don't let go.

Not much makes joe jerk more angry than people willing to consecrate themselves to Mary...therefore not so good situations around this time is not surprising. Your mother heard you today and won't let you down...we'll all get through it together

Therefore, the 33 day journey begins April 10th. I get so much more out of it when I do it with others, so I am inviting others to join me! If I get any takers, I will start a thread on the 10th, and hopefully people will post their thoughts, reflections, questions, challenges, etc. You can post a lot or not much at all...whatever you are comfortable with. We are about to enter the storm my brothers and sisters...time to secure your spot under our lady's mantle and let her mold you and lead you to Jesus so you will grow in faith and love for Jesus in a way that you can not achieve on your own.

So, please discern to see if you feel you should consecrate yourself to our lady or renew your consecration to her. I'd love to have a group to take this journey with![/quote

 

I am in! I will be using the "33 Days to Morning Glory" book again. I am very new to this site and I love the idea of doing this with a community of believers in our Blessed Mother. Thank you for getting this going!

I just found a little info-mcnugget you might enjoy...unless someone else posted it in which case I'm just hopelessly redundant. I wanted to know more about St Louis De Montfort so I Google him. I don't think it is just a coincidence that he died April 28 1716....exactly 300 years ago.

So wonderful that the forum is talking about Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I was just watching a rebroadcast of Mother Angelica tonight and just caught the last few minutes of it. She was speaking of devotions and that her and her sisters would begin the renewal of their Consecration to Mary tomorrow. This episode is from over 15 or so years ago but I couldn't help but well up with tears at missing Mother Angelica and the coincidence that we're all going to start the consecration tomorrow! What a sign for me! I was going to do another consecration but after Mother spoke of St. Louis de Montfort I'm going to pull out my Pieta book and do the consecration as he did. Mother said that she gives everything to Mary, including the not so perfect stuff. She said that when she died and St. Peter was looking at her sins and was saying "I don't know about this, that Mother Mary would hopefully just wave her hand and say it's all right she's with me" I love it! She said when we consecrate ourselves to Mary she takes whatever offerings we give God (the good and not so perfect offerings) and makes them shiny and pure. Mother was a great Saint on earth and now in Heaven! I hope her canonization is expedited.
