I ran into a problem last night, so now I will have missed the first two days. I am wondering if I could begin on the Nov. 9th and then end on Dec. 12th, Our Lady of Guadalupe? I found the following link which suggests that this is ok and includes instruction for the St. Louis de Montfort's total consecration. https://www.fisheaters.com/totalconsecrationmontfort.html Is this ok? Thank you for your help.
Hi Carol55. Of course it is OK. There are a number of days when we can make the Consecration and Our Lady of Guadalupe 12th December is one of those dates.
I'm in trouble here, Julia, because the Scripture reading and the prayers you posted for Day 3 are not in my 33 Days to Morning Glory book. I think I might have to start again from Day 1 because I seem to have made a mess of it.
You don't have to start again Dolours. Your good intentions are everything. A series of Montfortian conferences were given earlier this year. I have found them very helpful. This conference is one of the later talks but would give people a good idea of how deep it all goes.
Dolours, the 33 Days to Morning Glory is a modern version of the Consecration. It is not St. Louis DeMontfort's version, so the prayers will be different. I am not saying there is anything wrong with it, just that it is a newer way to do the Consecration. Personally I prefer St. Louis DeMontfort's, but that is just because I prefer to do everything the way it used to be done To everyone: If you feel called to do the consecration just do it! Don't worry about messing it up because guess what...you will! The devil will try to mess you up and to doubt yourself, just like he does with the First Saturdays or First Fridays. If anyone feels called to do this then they should, remember it is a grace to be called to do it, so you won't be making a mistake. Of course if anyone is in a state of mortal sin or some other problem, I would wait until you are more prepared, but then once you are prepared do it. You won't regret it. The Marian Feast Days are scattered throughout the year, so even if you don't make the Consecration this time, you can make it soon. Just about every few weeks you can start.
My apologies Dolours. I had just clicked a reply on a day three to make it easy for anyone trying to find the daily readings. There are actually two options if you look back to page one and onwards on this thread. I expect one of the options will be the same as your book. Use your book, it will have everything you need. So glad other members have come to your rescue. God bless them.
Thanks to Mac, Praetorian and Julia, I'm back on track. Yes, I will use the book and see how it goes.
Unless I've made a complete hash of things, this was day 17 - the half way mark. Just wondering how others are doing with the preparation.
33 days to Morning Glory is on the same page just after the St Luis de Montfort readings, just scroll down a bit.
While I remember. Last Year on 8th December, our Priest told us after Holy Mass that on that special day we could ask for a Grace from Blessed Mother between 12 and 1 pm. I think it would require sacramental Confession and Holy Communion within 8 days, and for a belt and braces job, say a prayer for Holy Fathers intentions. Anyone can ask for this special favour from Blessed Mother; but for those who are making the Consecration preparation, it must be a great chance to request a special favour. God willing I intend asking Blessed Mother to protect the 8th Amendment from the curse of abortion in Ireland.
I am at the second day week 2 using the Saint Louis De Montfort consecration preparation. second day, week2 is on page 5 earlier on this thread. The 33 Days to Morning Glory consecration can also be found when you scroll down past this version on page 5. Keep up the good work.
I am sure we will We do it every once in a while. I don't really think there is any set schedule. I think we do it a couple of times a year.
I think that we could have started 2 days ago but it possible to "catch up", double up for two days if you begin today based on what others have stated on this thread I think it is ok to do that. You would finish on The Apparition of the Immaculate Virgin Mary at Lourdes, February 11th. Here is a link to help you, https://www.fisheaters.com/totalconsecrationmontfort.html . I suppose the other option is to what until Feb 20th and finish on The Annunciation, March 25th. But unless others here suggest that you wait, I would suggest that you don't.
Yes Seeker, as Carol mentioned this is an important and wonderful devotion. I would also highly encourage you to do it as long as you understand what it is about and agree with the premise of it. If you feel more comfortable doing it as a group here on the forum then perhaps we could organize another group Consecration to start on February 20th.
Okay, I can understand that. Especially if you have not done it before, it is nice to have a group going through it with you in case you have questions. So since the next one starts on February 20th, why don't you read up on it a little between now and then and we can plan on doing a Forum Consecration at that time. If I could ask you to just post a reminder on this thread at the beginning of February, I would be more than happy to run it unless someone else would like to. If for some reason you do post it here and I miss it, then just send me a private message on the forum here and I will get right on it. It is a wonderful devotion and will bring many, many Graces with it.
