Happy Birthday Padraig ! I count 2 great blessings here, our friendship, and this forum. Have a blessed day.
Belated happy birthday, Padraig. I don't have enough time to spend on the forum any more but it is and has been such a huge blessing to me, a lifeline.
As usual I'm late but I wish you a happy birthday and a blessed year ahead. God bless you always and I'm so glad to have been in contact with you over the past 10 years or so. You and this forum have been a blessing in my life
You all have been a huge blessing on mine, thank you. Long may it continue, God Willing. Always God willing although I hope the Mother of God has a say in things.
You bless me far more than I bless you. Yesterday me little Tablet went dark and I struggled to get it going again. This morning I woke up after seven hours sleep I tried to get on the forum but my computer suddenly winked out and went off. I tried to fix it but could not. I tried to make breakfast but the power fuse kept going of. I was so tired I went back to bed again for two hours. Got up , got the computer going again but was so tired I went back to sleep yet again for a couple of hours. Found my Tablet had gone dark again. Got it started. I am wandering down now late afternoon to the City Hall to see if they have the Christmas Lights are on. So Happy. But I think someone in another place is not and did not want me posting. But I am.
I wandered down town with the dog and had the most interesting meeting with a young down and out. He was wandering ahead of me and was shouting out what appeared to be Scripture quotes to all and sundry, threatening the Wrath of God to Come, in the crowded streets as sometimes such folks do. Anyway I paid him never no mind and turning a corner rested a while. The young down and out turned up pig tail and all and in reverse of his usual shouting and anger asked to pet my dog. I informed him that he might do so but come back with only half an arm as my dog as a mind of it's own. Then he asked me if I had read the Book of Maccabees? I told him I had. He asked me what the Maccabbees had come down the mountain with when they fled the Greeks ? I racked my brains and and came up empty. He then told me that God had sent Raptors with them to kill the Greeks. That I was a Maccabee and my God is a Raptor. What is a, 'Raptor' and does this actually occur in Scripture? raptor noun noun: raptor; plural noun: raptors 1. a bird of prey, e.g. an eagle or hawk. I am not sure of Eagles in the Book of Macabbees but they do occur in the Lord of the Rings, when they assist at the Final Battle. Anyway I informed the young man when he was taking strong drink form the bag at his hip that God wanted him to go off the booze. He informed me back that God was perfectly happy with him boozing. But I loved the eagles stuff. Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
