Dr. Chris said max dose according to the package for three days. It’s safe to take max dose longer but don’t take it for weeks on end at max dose. Bismuth can build up in your brain and kidneys.
Thanks for flagging this again! When I gad Covid back in Fall of 2020, I had gotten advice to take Pepcid. I took that along with several other supplements and vitamins. I’m curious Brian if your take and Dr. Chris take on Pepcid? I wonder could it be used along with the Pepto? I believe there are a number of studies on pepcid,,,here’s one: https://www.northwell.edu/news/the-...nical-trial-shows-reduction-covid-19-symptoms
Pepto Bismol is not available in Ireland, anyone know what the equivalent would be? Gaviscon? Milk of Magnesia?
Generic bismuth salicylate? There’s a vet version they sell by the gallon online that I buy. It tastes a bit dull with a saccharine aftertaste but it is the same thing and much much less expensive. https://www.walmartpetrx.com/p-7948-bismusol-gallon.aspx I have no qualms about taking veterinarian meds. Race horses cost millions of dollars. If vet drugs were substandard and threatened the lives of race horses, the manufacturers would get sued out of existence. Pets have more protections and rights than humans these days, and vet meds are manufactured accordingly.
Pepcid will treat Covid symptoms, by tamping down the cytokine storm response of the immune system. Bismuth directly prevents the Coronavirus from replicating so it’s a more direct treatment although I’d imagine they can be taken at the same time for added effect. They’re often taken together for stomach ulcers. From all my personal research so far, I think Bismuth has the best chance at slowing/ stopping multiple different viruses, so if I could only stock one thing (besides Vitamin D) it would be Bismuth, not ivermectin, hcq, curcumin, zinc or drugs like Pepcid.
I wonder if it would help my new autoimmune issue. PMR. It’s debilitating and very painful. I’m on 20 mg of prednisone and it has so many side effects. I wish I knew more about medicine.
Polymyalgia rheumatica? Ugh, that’s not good. Unfortunately bismuth is good against stomach ulcers (it seems to be bacteriostatic against ulcer causing H pylori bacteria) and numerous viruses but I don’t think it would help PMR much. Although the salicylate part of it may have some basic anti inflammatory activity as it’s similar to aspirin.
Thanks I might try it for a week to see what happens The cytoceine storm got my attention since PMR is autoimmune. I don’t get to see a rheumatologist until the middle of Feb and have been dealing with this since Oct. I never heard of it until I got it.
Ok but be careful. I would only take the maximum over the counter dose for several days at a time. Bismuth can build up in your body and cause side effects if too much it taken or it’s taken too long.
