I am more than a little bit jealous of her. My own heart turns towards home more and more. A stranger in a strange, strange Godless land. Home to Faithful Catholic Great Ireland in the sky. To the Great Eternal Feast to meet family and friends that I have loved and loved me so well, here below. Share this with her too. Mothers are very, very special people. I will be very much with her tonight in prayers. And with yourself too. But sometimes our loss is heaven's gain. Please ask your mother when she meets Our Blessed Lady to beg her for a special intention for me, to do with Our Holy Mother the Church. Bless you both.
It was a lovely celebration! My mom was in a more positive mood and very happy to have her requested meal. She received calls from grandchildren and great-grandchildren. My husband took some time off from his work to be with us and that was great as he is her favorite SIL. (The cake was vanilla with buttercream icing in her favorite color:green with pink roses.) She listened as I shared with her all of your thoughts, prayers and heart-felt song. Even though she didn’t say much about any of this, I assure you, she was listening and considering quietly. Then she fell asleep for a while and when she awoke, as expected, she told me she hadn’t been sleeping at all but merely had her eyes closed. That always makes me smile. So, I am heartily humbled by all of your gracious responses. Be assured you were a part of my mom’s special day. God bless you!~AN
AN, So sorry I missed this thread. I will pray for your Mom, for you and your family! How wonderful to enjoy her presence for most of your life! I lost my Mom when just 21; she had been my anchor. Her death precipitated a rudderless catalyst that led to a deep conversion at the age of 23. God turns all things to the good for us, His children! Safe Under the Mantle of Mary!
Thank you so much, Terry! And for sharing about your Mom’s passing, it’s effects on you and your love for her! We have a remarkable God! I say all this, adding that it “just so happens” that today marks my Father’s death five years ago. I had a very profound realization of this at Holy Mass this morning To too it all off, a good friend not realizing this gave me some dried rosemary not too long afterwards. I will link the significance and I am floored. Please pray for the repose of his soul. (He did receive the Anointing and Apostolic Pardon—twice!) https://bardgarden.blogspot.com/2014/10/rosemary-and-rue.html?m=1
