Did we not build Churches over pagan sites?

It depends I suppose. At the moment in preparation for my retirement I am learning to play the Guitar. The other night while I was playing my dog howled and ran into the bedroom , which goes to show just how well I am getting on at it. :D:D

Anyway just having learnt three chords I am learning three songs I have picked which are:

    Amazing Grace.

    Immaculate Mary.

    ..and Faith of Our Fathers.

I think just as heavy things sink into the deep we have a natural tendency to draw to that which we love the most. If we love in music God the most we would I suppose to tend to be drawn to hymns, or at least spiritual music.

If a priest or nun was drawn to secular music I would be concerned. For a lay person maybe less so.

My Spiritual Director told me a story about a young Priest who had just been ordained. He had the most terrific reputation already and everyone sung his praises. He was sent to a local convent to preach a Retreat and the Mother Superior came back to rave his praises, the nuns were dying about him. Wonderful Terrific. The best thing that ever happened. We want more.

But actually the young priest had gone a bit crazy. He was working as a part time Bar Man in a city centre pub and then with the money he was going Late Night Clubbing. His Religious Superior ordered him not to, but, basically he had lost the plot.

He told me of another priest who had lost his vocation and asked his Bishop to let him go. The Bishop sent him to a place of prayer as a final step. They asked him to pray seven hours a day as a first step. He though they were mad but tried it anyway. He stuck at it and found his way again.

But for a Priest or nun prayer is central. Far more than lay folk. When they start to loose prayer they loose everything. Rather like home made bread they go stale very quickly if they are doing this , so quickly you can actually see it happening.

I see Notre Dame have totally lost the plot. Not only are they insisting that all students take the experimental jab they are insisting that even folks working remotely and never come near Notre Dam get jabbed.

Notre Dame is now about as Catholic as my dog; maybe less so.

    Crazy:

I did look into it, Padraig. All is not lost. They do allow a student the ability to file a conscience-related exemption. I suppose those learning remotely must do the same!:p

But I've heard that Our Lady of Notre Dame had to appear to the President of the University to obtain the possibility of exemption approval!:LOL:

I think you are right. https://cruxnow.com/church-in-europ...singing-nun-sensation-abandons-religious-life
But don’t you give up on singing and playing that guitar.

I think they have to leave some religious exemptions, like it or not or they'd get bombed in court.

    First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

When I submitted my request a year ago for a religious exemption, I used the above Constitutional clause as the legal basis for my exemption.:censored: Some don't know how to read plain English.
