I wouldn't dispute that this woman had a NDE. But after pondering it, I feel she added a lot of her own ideas. She is a writer who makes a living selling books. I also checked her out and she does not live in the Midwest, she lives in the Villages in Fla. Much of her encounter was self centered. Also I was directly led back to confession, the Mass and obedience to the Church and those God put over me in this life. Well that was certainly a true and wonderful mystical experience I think I good judge of ones to believe in comes from St John. 1 John 4 :: Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. I don't think it is a good position to take that a mystical experience may be kinda half true and thus half worth listening to. It's reach for the on/off switch kinda thing. It's either true in which reach for the on switch. Or its false, in which case switch it right off. There are no in betweens.
Good observations. I never had an NDE but I would be so wary of "care bear" stuff. Reading the saints is salutary.
