See my post above. He states about Martin: If he’s a committed Catholic and an avid reader of Martin, he should know Martin’s “outreach” is heterodox.
I was thinking of how The Chosen depicted The Magnificant on their Christmas Special. Luke took great care in retelling events with Mary in the gospel and that is where we find the canticle of Mary. It is filled with humility and awe of God . . .I thought it was well done and inspired. Not only is Luke an author, a doctor, he was also an artist. In a few more weeks I will reveal to you a stunning revelation about Luke and Mary that I have discovered in my research, in fact it might be my next book. I loved the Christmas special of The Chosen this year, it was indeed a celebration.
And? Jonathan is an actor. They often have fans who want their portraits. Maybe read the New Testament and see what the Pharisees had to say about Jesus dining with tax collectors and sinners. End of discussion.
I was just informing him that he reposted the same thing that was posted yesterday, maybe he will notice and remove these redundant posts... My response to alleged Jonathan's active involvement with James Martin was to pray for him, just in case (Same goes for LGBT members or priests teaching heresy, we should pray for them. Or even better sit with them at one table just as Jesus did, have a constructive conversation with them. Then we may try to understand them and in a loving way point them to the truth that was revealed in new testament.) Make no mistakes, I love his portrayal of Jesus and what he is doing for God's Kingdom on earth is more then I will probably ever do. He seems very devout to prayer and saints, which surely inspires a lot of people. And as he isn't pushing James Martin's works or his agenda actively (except this one old FB post AFAIK) then I don't see a real problem here.
Same!!! Love the show. Every person has flaws. I hope I am not picked apart the way these actors have been in other posts.
The Chosen is re-running the first two season this week (started on Sunday) on live stream. They are also running comments from shows Executive Producer. He mentioned to check out this video…which was behind the scenes of how they did the miracle of the fish in episode 4 of season 1. Thought this was very cool…. And Dallas comes across very authentic… it’s part of the reason I enjoy it.
A friend in the religious media told me that there is a rumor that Dallas is considering converting to the catholic faith. It is just a rumor, so we can only hope. If that happens, it would be pretty impactful.
I can’t remember exactly, but it was suspected, or maybe assumed that might be the reason. My memory is
On Good Friday of all days I'm feeling so disheartened by the producer of The Chosen, Dallas Jenkins. Over the controversy surrounding his ad campaign. I'm wondering if anyone can give feedback. He has decided to use reverse psychology for an ad campaign, advertising The Chosen 'sucs, don't watch it" in a graffiti type ad on billboards throughout the country. And on FB a little devil meme pops up saying don't watch it, etc. He claims it is just a joke . . .to get more people to watch. I find it very unsettling that he would joke about Jesus. It so disturbs me I don't want to watch it anymore. Maybe I am too old for the younger generation's ideas. Just wondering what others takes are on this . . .
I thought those ads were from enemies of Christ. I had no idea Jenkins was doing it. Horrible. I gave up on the series awhile ago. I've been watching scenes from The Passion this week as a meditation along with scripture. That movie is to my mind very anointed. Flawless.
