Ireland 'waking' up?

    I also think it was a good thing that Archbishop Éamon Martin did with his group. He climbed Croke Patrick with all the pilgrims on Reek Sunday where he celebrated Holy Mass on the summit. He then led all who wished to follow on a pilgrimage on the footsteps of St Patrick to the Hill of Slane and he invited us all to pray for our country. We should continue to pray for that and for all our bishops and priests. He certainly stepped out. We are all struggling and it's easy to start focusing on negatives but that will achieve nothing. I say bravo to Archbishop Martin and all the priests and laity who accomponied him. Bravo to Sr Briege and to Dana who is a wonderful Catholic witness. Let's double up on our prayers for the restoration of our little country and remember our great inheritance in the faith.

    Sister Breige really is a living saint. I would be really surprised if she is not canonised in a short period after her death, rather like JP2. In addition she displays a wide range of mystical gifts such as Prophecy, and Knowledge of Souls. I would guess currently such is just about the best known nun in the Catholic Church.

    I was sad recently watching her to see how the years have caught up on her. I suppose caught up with us all. She was never really, I think in the best of health. The one thing always strikes me most about her, is a very high degree of humility indeed. She might have every reason, in a human sense , to have a very big head. But there is not the least sign of one at all. Quite the reverse.

    Again showing the influence of the faith from Ireland as she was a member of the legion of Mary apostolate begun by Frank Duff.

    The evil one hates the land of saints & scholars and has spewed his bile and filth here in many ways this island was his number one target because of its fruitfulness for the Lord down through the centuries. Those in charge in Dublin are his minions.

    The Light the Fire event was uplifting yesterday.

    But my overall feeling was that revival of the faith in Ireland can now only come about through martyrdom.

    Via a white martyrdom of the remnant faithful through interior purification, penance, persecution, imprisonment or also through the red blood of martyrdom should the world continue on its present diabolical path.

    Sadly I have come to the conclusion even if Ireland wakes up 100% today; the die is cast and Ireland along with the post Christian, post civilised world has to reap the harvest for abandoning God and His Laws and Precepts.

    I keep posting at every opportunity, read the Song of Moses in the Old Testament. It is Moses last will and testament for the people of God. There he warns what happen when people turn their back on God. Our countries will be invaded and our lives made a misery, and there is nothing we can do to stop it.

    We have to endure the Chastisement offering everything in union with our suffering Saviour for the salvation of our own souls and the souls of our families, and surrender everything to Jesus Christ with love and resignation.

    Read Psalm 91, what a comfort as we watch the world follow the Church of Jesus Christ into the final agony and death before dear God steps in and restores us in the Holy Faith of our fathers through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, our Heavenly Mother. Viva Christo Rey.

    Things do look dark. No doubt about. But I think at one point in Scripture St Paul encourages us to be positive.

    Philippians 4:8

    8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.


    For instance saints. In Ireland and everywhere else there are many saints floating about. It is a joy to see them.

    There really , really are saints floating about.

    Keep your eyes open and see!

    There is a great mystery here. The world of my youth and the Church of my youth was a safe place with clear boundaries. The sacraments were freely availesable. There were many Mass times. Three and four priests to a parish. School was the nuns. Some kind and radiant. Some the opposite. But all of them preached the same Catholic truth. I took it all for granted. The Church was down the block from my house and I would make visits to the Blessed Sacrament and then kneel before Our Lady's statue and stare at her. And she would smile at me. Sometimes. There was fear of nuclear war and the Russians and so we all prayed to be spared but we were also understanding that Catholics were living under white and red martyrdom behind the iron curtain. And then came the late 60's. Over night. The Rock of the Church was being chipped away and the word on the liturgical street was open up to the world. And we sure did. And now here we are in a world being purged of God and a Church that has been taken over almost completely. Terrifying. But lights shine. Against the thick enveloping darkness lights shine. The LIGHT of Christ shines in a way it never did when I was a child. Sister Bridge is an example. So many saints. Father Mark Beard. A warrior priest of the finest caliber. Manly. Fierce with love for Christ and the Church. Taken away before we got to know him but now many many are listening to his homilies. Unless a seed dies....We are seeing prophecy being fulfilled a around us and the evil is not hiding now. It crows its malevolence at every opportunity. Stark choices. No one can say anymore that there is no need to get all fanatic and take a stand. We must ALL stake out our ground. We are for Christ or we are for the enemy of Christ. It was never so clear. In my whole life I never knew it to be so clear. It isxa great mystery that I ponder now quite frequently. Why do I see it or all of us here see it and yet so many dear ones in our families and so many friends and people around us don't see it? They don't! It is as if a force field of worldliness is around them. Impenetrable. Julia is right that only suffering in union with Christ can "buy" these conversions. Sorry for the rant. I just have to ponder these things it seems.

    There are a lot of good signs.

    A for instance Cardinal Timothy Dolan has recently apologised for the Covid Church lock downs and admitted they were over the top.

    Cardinal Mueller has stated that the Pachamama thingy in the Vatican was sinful and that if the Synodality thing keeps going on it will lead to the destruction of the Church.

    So yes there are folks waking up.

    Yes, truth. We are all clear-eyed about the signs of the times. I too was influenced by the charismatic renewal. It brought much good - Mother Angelica and her sisters were part of it, plus many fine priests. I think Fr Goring is. Franciscan Uni of Steubenville was founded by people with roots in the renewal. But I rapidly tired of all the singing. In conversation with our group leader ( this is over 30 years ago) we decided that charismatics tend to divide between the pentecostal and the contemplative. The Renewal has been a powerful springboard for bringing people closer to God but it seems that for most it was only the start and most people do move on from it. Ralph Martin, Fr Groeschel (rip) oh so many fine leaders in the church today.

    Yes. It was the first stage in a way of this long journey. I do think the Holy Ghost woke up the Church with a new movement of grace but it was never meant to be the permanent way of things. So many Catholics ended up leaving to become pentecostal. I was so fortunate that the parish group that I knew were solidly Marian. That made all the difference. I remember Mother Angelica recounting her experience being prayed over by a charismatic priest. She was so humorous about it. But look what the Holy Ghost did for her and through her for the whole Church.
