Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Julia in conspiracy theory mode.

I can't help wondering are the Irish Bishops trying to draw attention to their willingness to play the gay game and get to the head of the queue for the next promotion to the position of Cardinal.

Well they can't all be cardinals, soo many of them. There are zillions of Bishop's in Ireland for such a tiny island.

I would guess it's getting onboard with the programme.

Kinds like.. if Rome wants it.. well fine.

It's the colonial mentality that if our 'betters' think it's a good idea then we want to be head of the class. The covid response comes to mind. 95% we're on board and most still are. There is no inquiry in Ireland and the truth will be buried. Padraig Pearse recognised the problem and he and the 1916 leaders laid down their lives to try and wake up this nation.
I know my own bishop is fully on board with synodality, whatever that is, and will do whatever keeps PF happy. We already feel the cold wind of his displeasure for speaking against at a parish meeting.

No. I reckon they are terrified of being crucified by the media if they don't appear to be fully onboard with the alphabet agenda. I'm sure that Fr. Martin has very powerful contacts especially in the US media and their owners - people who effectively control the media in all the Western world. Getting in his bad books is probably more scary for them than anything the Pope might think of them.

It is a wonder the Great Chastisement has not fallen on Ireland yet, in the form Our Lady warned off water

But apparently God with holding His hand for an even greater punishment to come

I was always so proud of being Irish but hang my head in shame

But it is good to be positive and there are some very, very holy Irish people, I see them every day at Mass

Probably not my place to say this, since I don't live in Ireland, but imo, it's not a weak people who lasted for centuries under complete persecution in regard to both religion and ethnicity. It literally took centuries of oppression for this change to happen in Ireland. Think about it. And those who left and did fall under the zeitgeist, they probably fell after thinking they finally did escape only to find things just as bad or possibly worse where they ended up and so, sadly, gave up. They were beaten down, looked to hope and had it pulled out from under them. Any one of them who takes an interest in their own ancestral history, could find that same strength that their ancestors fought with and rise again to fight the "good fight". It's the same for those who stayed and survived. The past is gone ~ look to the present day; don't give up that "good fight" that is embedded in your very soul, and the souls of your loved ones.

They say Faith is the last to go. Place your Hope in the Faith that has carried you this far. Trust in the Love that springs forth from that Faith and Hope to carry you the rest of the way ~

Many thanks LMF and of course there are still Irish fighting back! You know I think thè Irish bishops have not issued a collective statement on these blessings yet, only Farrell in Dublin has. So maybe there are holdouts against it there and thats why Martin was flown in, to bring them round? So we should be thankful that some are holding the line it seems?

If they disagree, they should make it public. Otherwise, people will regard Farrell as speaking for them all.

Therein lies the problem with these so called "bishops conferences", imo. They provide cover for what now seems to be "fraternal bullying". They are each a Bishop, and should therefore each be able to speak their mind without fear of consequences from the "fraternal" ones.

According to Canon Law, as far as I know, a bishop only has to answer to the pope.

In reality, these conferences are another interpolation of Marxism collectivism into the Church.

My pastor has said that the last canon is ultimately the one a priest or bishop must adhere to….

Can. 1752 In cases of transfer the prescripts of can. 1747 are to be applied, canonical equity is to be observed, and the salvation of souls, which must always be the supreme law in the Church, is to be kept before one’s eyes.

In the end, if a priest believes the salvation of a soul is at risk, then he unde canon law can refuse. Now, not sure how that might work n practicality but it is in Church law.

If any Irish Bishop had an ounch of courage they would have spoken out by now, Knock or no Knock.

    They are an embarrassment

Not one Canadian Bishop has spoken out one way or the other, as far as I know. They let that same person (Knock invitee) speak to the CBC, as if he were their spokesperson. It's sickening...

Unfortunately some bishops, and lukewarm laity and priests, definitely suffer from Papolotry. They are only interested in what the Pope says, and Fr Martin is effectively the Papal spokesman on this, as I am sure he will be telling the Bishops privately.
In fact Our Lord is the head of the Church and in his magisterium he has made quite clear His massive opposition to homosexuality, and one's God given brains should see that this blessing is giving completely the wrong message on it.

Who was it who said the Church would be saved by the laity? Remember that during Henry VIII’s landgrab only one English bishop refused to apostatise. I suspect it would be the same today. There was much rejoicing among orthodox Catholics when our bishop was announced, we expected great things and he has done much good, but never a squeak about Pride, or the abominations coming from Rome. I think he has fled the wolves. It takes a lot of grit, and deep deep faith to stand up to the filth that swirls around us.

Br proud of being Irish. I’m forever grateful to those Irish clergy and sisters who came to England to serve the Catholic population. We depended on them. They leave a great gap. I’m something of a fangirl for Ireland. When we went, I bought a shamrock rosary which hangs from my dressing table mirror. I doubt anyone Irish owns such a thing haha. One day I’ll get to Knock, hopefully fully cleansed of recent goings on.
