Close. Texas was indeed a part of Mexico, but at the Battle of the Alamo, Mexico won and killed almost everyone in the Alamo. "Remember the Alamo!" was the battle cry as a couple months later, Texans won their independence from Mexico in the Battle of San Jacinto. This was in 1836. Texas is the only state in the U.S. that used to be its own independent country.
Good. You mentioned the oldest parish in the East. I know of one in St Augustine, FL The State of Maryland was essentially begun on March 25, 1634 when Fr Andrew White celebrated the first Mass in the new colony. So it might beat St Augustine. I live in Maryland.
The only reason I know these details is because I had to teach TX state history to my 4th grade son last year!
Sorry, no not those. Thanks, though! It was Bishop's letter dated March 15th and the subheading on his Archdiocese of San Antonio style letterheadbegan with, 'A Message from Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, MSpS, concerning the publication of the alleged prophetic messages from the Mission of Divine Mercy'. It's in the Spirit Daily's archives dated March 17th. Sorry, I just can't figure out how to copy the letter to post to this thread. I'm not computer tech savvy myself. Well anyways, in the second paragraph within his letter stated some about the sister and who are the others in this MDM group. Not sure if she is the alleged locutionist?
Brian, I have come across the most interesting interview of John Henry Western with a very prominent Catholic Author Mr Ted Flynn. The discussion focuses on Garabandal and his expertise in regards to this apparition. However at the 38 minute mark the talk takes a different direction and Mr Flynn speaks of his previous book/books on freemasonry and communism. I have placed the video below. The whole video is interesting but go to the 38 minute mark to here the words on freemasonry and communism. Mr Flynn relates, in the year 2000 he attended a dinner with none other than Alice Von Hilderbrant who wanted to speak with him personally, as she was aware he had written books regarding freemasonry and communism. Alice discusses with Mr Flynn, Bella Dodd's book "Brotherhood of darkness" noting that Bella informed the world of the freemasons and their communistic agenda to place freemasons and communists into the seminaries and have them ascend to the highest places in the church (all the way up to cardinals) with the purpose of destroying the church. Alice disclosed to Mr Flynn that a leading Mason had come to see her husband, Dietrich, and told him..... "We will destroy the Catholic church through obedience" Dietrich realised that freemasons not only understood how the clergy works but had devised a plan to undermine the Catholic faith. Freemasons utilised a priests obedience to his bishop, as a way to legitimise obedience to freemasonry. So my question is... What are we to do? Freemasons are apparently in authority in our church, so what can be done on a human level? We now know, freemasons infiltrated our church in the 1930's and are now using our Catholic virtue of obedience to Church authority against our priests and the faithful. Do our priests obey the dictates of their bishop or cardinals (be they real freemasons or just lukewarm prelates obeying the freemasonic word from on high) or do they disobey and cause a schism? To me, the whole scenario produces its own exotic can of worms!
This is what has caused a 'stinking silence' whilst heresy is preached from on high. The wolves are having a field day. Our Catholic schools are now hotbeds for lgbtq ideology and souls are being taken to hell while we go on in silence. It's time to speak and forget the consequences of threading on ecclesiastical toes. Obedience is to Christ and the deposit of faith coming down to us. The church has been captured by the enemy. We spend our time attacking those who call it out.
I am sure this is why Malachi Martin said that this time we are in (apostates running the Church) would try the souls of saints themselves. He said as I recall " get down on your knees and pray you will be spared. Your faith will be shredded to pieces." I have no clue what the right thing is to do. Thats why I watch and listen to the faithful Cardinals and bishops hoping they will show us a path forward.
"We will destroy the Catholic Church through obedience." A freemason said that? No, a demon did. The freemason was only his mouthpiece. Only a fool as arrogant as the devil would say the Church could be destroyed through obedience. It's the snake in the garden all over again. Where is our trust and our faith in God? Do we really believe the communists are in control?
Was it not the Church authority who put her on trial? I am fully open to correction here, or if you could point me to a trusted reference? Thank you ~
Yes, as I think Saint John indicates there is a human, worldly way of looking at things and a Spiritual one. Christ was obedient even unto death on a Cross. We can never err by walking in His bloody footprints. There is the Wisdom of Men and the Foolishness of the Cross. But the Wisdom of Men is made foolish in the Light of the Wisdom of the Cross.
We're not going to dig out way out of the hole we're in, it's miles too deep. God will have to bend down and haul us out Himself.
Not good... MISSION OF DIVINE MERCYʼS INITIAL PUBLIC RESPONSE TO THE ARCHBISHOPʼS DECREES OF MARCH 15, 2024 We of the Mission of Divine Mercy want to respectfully acknowledge the Archbishop’s public statement of March 15, 2024. We believe there were significant inaccuracies in the statement, but we will address those in a later announcement. There has also been concern leading many to ask, “Can the Archbishop seize the Mission’s assets?” The short answer, according to the civil law, is no. We want to reassure our friends and supporters of that. A fuller explanation of this matter is found in the appendix immediately following this statement. We also want to express the following points without any further delay: Given the Archbishop’s order that we not use the name “Catholic” collectively, we will comply and only describe ourselves as individual Catholics laboring in the vineyard of the Lord. Also, Fr. John Mary, until further notice, will not be administering the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Anointing of the Sick outside of the circumstance of proximate and grave danger of death with no other priest being available. We pray and trust this will only be temporary. However, because of the unprecedented crisis in the Church and for the grave reasons we expressed in our statement, “We Must Obey God,” we believe, in obedience to God, that the following must be done: That Fr. John Mary continue to offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and to preach at our Mission. That we continue to share the Messages we believe the Lord is giving us for His children. That we continue to welcome those who come to the Mission seeking the Lord and His Mercy. What is said to be “illicit” in ordinary times, can in extraordinary times of grave crises in the Church be not only a “licit,” but a good and holy act. This we sincerely believe to be our case.
