Pope after Pope for the last two hundred years have spoken about a Great Spiritual War going on between good and evil. A good example of this was the St Michael's Prayer at the end of Mass. I wish to goodness they would start it up again. At the same time since the start of the 1800's we have had the Greatest Spate of Marian Apparitions in the history of the Church telling up the exact same thing. As each generation is born we seem to get more and more evil. Each generation descending deeper and deeper into the darkness. It is the Great Theme of the Old Testament with the Israelites. One generation says, 'But as for me and my house we accept the Lord'. But then new generations come and more and more turn against the Commandments and set their face against the Lord. Then off course God rebukes and purifies them with Chastisements, they repent and turn back to God and the whole cycle starts off again, over and over and over again. But I don't think anytime in history have we seen anything quite like now. Of course in Ancient Pagan Rome things were bad. But they were moving from the darkness into the Light. The difference now is that we are moving from Great Light (belief in Christ) into a Great Darkness (Apostacy). We have so many, many things the poor ancient Jews never had to help them and still we turned our faces away. There is no doubt what is round the corner will be overwhelming. Apocalyptic.
I wonder if what people call, 'The Culture Wars', might be a shadow of the battle between good and evil?
It looks like from what Our Lady has been saying that the Church will eventually stop working and all we'll have left is the rosary.
We say the St Michael prayer at all the churches around me. You may like this one; the old chant is soul stirring Grant Us Peace, O Lord Grant us peace, O Lord, in our days For there is none other Who will fight for us Save but You, Our God. Let there be peace and plenty in Your fortress. Grant us peace, O Lord, in our days For there is none other Who will fight for us Save but You, Our God. For my brethren, and of those near to me, I speak of Your peace. Grant us peace, O Lord, in our days For there is none other Who will fight for us Save but You, Our God. For in the house of The Lord Our God, I seek only the good. Grant us peace, O Lord, in our days For there is none other Who will fight for us Save but You, Our God. Pray for Jerusalem, so that they who love You may prosper. Grant us peace, O Lord, in our days For there is none other Who will fight for us Save but You, Our God. Glory be to The Father, and to The Son, and to The Holy Spirit, As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Grant us peace, O Lord, in our days For there is none other Who will fight for us Save but You, Our God. https://lyricstranslate.com
LOVE THIS! It was Abraham Lincoln's favorite song . . .when I lived in southern Alabama I asked the choir director if we could sing it for Memorial Day. She looked at me kinda funny and said we aren't allowed to sing this in the south! Duh, I never thought of that. Yes, the civil war hymn of the north. They still have an aversion to Yankees . . .my great grandfather born in Kerry was in the Civil War in the NY 184th. He never recovered from his time in battle. Michael John Haley may you rest in peace.
