    Verne,

It is true that the Catholic interpretation (i.e. water and the Holy Ghost) point to the fullness of Catholic teaching. In the above message, perhaps the warning of social upheaval is authentic, but her Protestant mindset has muddled the part indicating the spiritual response. For a number of years, I exercised the gift of prophecy within the context of the Charismatic Renewal. "Impure" prophecies which included much of oneself were always a danger; it was always prudent to look to mature members who had the gift of discernment of spirits in helping to nip such prophecies in the bud. Keeping what is good and setting aside what is not of God is always a challenge, but extinguishing the gifts entirely is an overreaction in my opinion. As St. Paul said:

1Thess 5: 19 Do not quench the Spirit; 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

    Just a word of caution.

Within Pentecostal / Charismatic Protestantism, there is no gage or filter through which to pass personal prophecies, revelations, or visions. It's kind of a mess.

Much of what is posted below sounds very much like Scripture; the rest of it lines up closely with the kind of theological wording often found in Charismatic circles.

Also noteworthy is the "Hebrew Roots" use of "Yahushua" instead of "Jesus" for the Lord.

Very interesting Mario, thanks for the information. I don't know much about the Pentecostals or the Charismatic movement. I do know people in both and some are quite good people. Once, upon bringing a person I work with back into his lost Catholic faith, he invited me to his Assemblies of God service. I am glad I went, because I never realized how bizarre some peoples gatherings are. It was like someone started out preaching and built up from a soft tone to a very fast tone and all of a sudden people in the small congregation started to "chirp" for lack of a better word. Then more and more joined in as the temp of the preacher got faster. After several minutes the preacher started to slow down his tempo and the chirping got less and less until it died out. Apparently they were allegedly speaking in tongues and others were trying to interpret. Of-course, next comes the 'altar' call, to which they thought I would be their choice, since I was apparently the only newcomer. I didn't take the bait. The only thing I was waiting for was someone to start swinging from the chandeliers. Weird is all I can say.

In regards to Julie Whedbee's alleged messages, I have read them for a few years now. I have found nothing in them contrary to Catholic teaching and I assume those on www.afterthewarning.com have not as well, or they would not be posting them. I post them, only because they ring within the consensus of Catholic prophecy, although not getting into speaking on Mary or the Eucharist, the Pope etc...... I think God does speak to non-Catholics as well as non-Christians. In doing so, he will speak to valid messengers in a way they can understand, yet will not contradict Catholic teaching. Julie to me seems to fit this model. If anyone knows of something she has said that is contrary to the Catholic faith, please speak to it for our benefit, so her messages won't get posted on MOG.

My initial impression is that anyone can type out "revelations" like this. Some forms of Protestant Christianity are deeply into "hearing from the Lord", and this tendency has spread from Pentecostalism into wider Evangelical and Baptist circles. But much of what comes out of these personal revelations are vague, emotional, subjective, and impossible to confirm as being genuinely from God or not.

I admire the Catholic Church for her system of analyzing and judging alleged apparitions, and having a means in place to determine if something is of God or not. Protestantism does not have a higher hierarchy to confirm or deny the veracity of a prophetic stream or vision, and folks are left on their own to figure out if a ministry, sermon, vision, book, or prophecy "feels right" or not. It can be difficult to sense these things on one's own, and people are *extremely* defensive when it comes down to their favorite teacher / preacher / pastor.

It's not good. My impressions of these alleged revelations is that they are simply the writings of a passionate yet misguided woman, and are not divine in origin.

Secondly, if the Catholic Church is the True Church, why are these Protestant visionaries and seers not prophesying more in line with what the Catechism teaches? Is there a Holy Spirit with Baptist theology, another with Pentecostal theology, etc? How many Holy Spirits are there?

Finally, many of these Protestant revelations (think "Jesus Calling") fail to mention repentance, sin, Hell, or the need for contrition. Some do, most do not. I tune these things out; if I want to read the words of Christ, I open Scripture. There's simply too much gunk out there to sit down and filter the genuine from the phony.

There is a kind of dynamic tension between the Church Militant and the Mystical. This can and should be a fruitful tension Two good touch stones in Discernment are:

    1 Thessalonians 5:20

…19Do not extinguish the Spirit. 20Do not treat prophecies with contempt, 21but test all things. Hold fast to what is good.…

    ..and

    1 John 4:1

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

It would be nice to believe we could kind of freeze dry Prophecy to an extent where we would know that everything we took off the shelves were perfect, healthy and safe. For instance to select a brad name of only Catholic only and only Church approved. But the Holy Spirit is something of a Jack and a Box and won't be tinned.

A good example for instance are those of Fatima. When it was not yet Church approved people went there to see the sun dance. If they had waited fro it to be put int he tin of Church approval they would not have seen the miracle. All approved mystical phenomenon start life unapproved with the Sensum Fidelium, the sense of the Faithful pointing the way towards them being tinned.

As to Protestant prophesy, I believe Jesus leads the way in the following story:

    Mark 9:38

    Miracles in Jesus' Name
37“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes Me, and whoever welcomes Me welcomes not only Me, but the One who sent Me.” 38John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone else driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not accompany us.” 39But Jesus replied, “Do not stop him. No one who performs a miracle in My name can turn around and speak evil of Me.…

I have found in my own life that the very moment I believe I have things nailed down is the moment the Holy Spirit jumps out of my box and bites me on the ass. The very moment I am congratulating myself on having full control of the vehicle is the moment I have a car crash.

Padraig, coming from an ecclesial context in which prosperity, falling on the ground, running around while screaming, and claiming that the unintelligible stream of vaguely Hebraic-sounding nonsense streaming from the congregation is a Heavenly language.... are all regarded as manifestations of the Holy Spirit, my caution / rejection of these messages is not come to lightly.

Do Protestants love and know God? Yes. Are many wise and prayerful, thoughtful people, who care for their neighbors and desire to see souls saved? Yes. Are they awesome at studying and memorizing the Scriptures? Yes. Are many Holy and spiritually sensitive souls who are on their way to Heaven? Yes.

But the Protestant's Holy Spirit has the capacity to preach Prosperity, speak through and glorify homosexual, female, or remarried pastors, inspire Christians to turn to the Quran for information about Christ, warn that the Catholic Church is the Anti-Christ Whore of Babylon, and preach against the evil, Satanic events at Fatima which have lead many to Hell. Clearly, that is not the Holy Spirit.

I have read a good number of similar alleged prophecies, and have decided that it would be better to simply study Scripture, learn about the depth and richness of Catholic theology and devotions, and know that no matter if a given professed visionary is speaking God's words, difficult times are going to come.

The messages referred to above and reproduced do not strike me as inspired. They strike me as the personally-developed thoughts of a lady who is paraphrasing / quoting Scripture, inserting her own thoughts, and presenting her writings as authentic prophecy. She signs them "Yahushua", a fabricated and modernist Hebrew-Roots reconstruction of Jesus' Hebrew name, often seen among Hebrew Roots Christians. If you wish to believe that these writings are genuine, Padraig, of course you are free to. But I do not.

    For your discernment:

I Will Set You As An Example to the Whole World- September 17th, 2017

I, Mashiach, the King of all creation, the Only Savior for mankind, scour the earth, looking for those who embrace My Truth.

The warnings from My messengers and prophets have been declared for many generations and now, as you see, the time has come for all to be fulfilled.

The cries of the broken and contrite of heart have been heard in Heaven, and the Just Judge of all now brings recompense where it is due.

As a loving Father of His children, My heart longs to see hearts desperate for truth, hearts that cry out to Me through the destruction and through their sufferings; but as I look, I see many more still numb to the truth that has been presented, and I see them placing their hopes and dependence on man-made systems. I do not see many people falling on their knees in repentance, nor looking to Me for their hope, protection and provisions. Your leaders, America do not publicly cry out to Me in prayer for your nation, nor do they stand for truth based in My Holy Word. I hear words again such as, 'We will rebuild and restore,' but I tell you, this will not be. For as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so shall I allow the judgments to sweep this nation from coast to coast, as Babylon the whore will fall. You will not rise again to a mighty nation, but I will burn you with fire and destroy you with terrible winds and floods, bringing great devastation to your land. I will set you as an example to the whole world, what will be the end of all those mock and scoff Me and blatantly disregard My commandments.

This is not all I will do. You have only now just begun to see the shaking I will cause, as the earth will also violently respond to My commands for justice. I alone can raise up nations, and I alone can bring them down. I will shake the heavens and I will shake the earth and all that is will be undone.

A serious and dire message this is indeed, but as I have spoken, the time is come. I hear the heart cries of those who seek Me and love Me with all they have, and you My precious ones shall see much, but only for a short while, and then I will draw you to Myself. Do not despair My faithful ones, do not lose hope, for you know that I must do what I must do. I do these things to test and to measure the heart motives of all men.

I see all and I hear all, and I have each and every outcome. Nothing escapes the Great I AM.

Prepare in repentance, fasting and prayer first, then prepare as you are able physically, knowing that I have My children's names written in the palm of My hand, and no evil will befall you. Your security is in Me, regardless of what you see around you and what is imminently coming upon you.

Watch, wait, pray My loves. Your King is coming for you. Can you not hear the armies of Heaven as they ride?

YAHUSHUA, YOUR KING, YOUR DEFENSE, YOUR ROCK, YOUR HIGH TOWER, YOUR REFUGE

    Nahum 1:2-15
2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
9 What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
11 There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the Lord, a wicked counsellor.
12 Thus saith the Lord; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
13 For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
14 And the Lord hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
    Psalm 75:7

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

I just read that whole message, as always with Julie, when I read it, I don't get the same feeling as when I read things about Garabandal or Medg. Feels MUCH more earthly than extraordinary. Just one mans opinion

I agree with gracia's hesitation. I say this even though I encourage Catholics to be open to the release of the Holy Spirit and all the gifts mentioned in the Scriptures.:)

One must be cautious about prophecies delivered from a Charismatic/Pentecostal context, and I say this having exercised the gift personally. Very few of such prophecies in a Catholic setting are predictions. They are messages of loving encouragement and at other times are corrective, asking the members of the prayer group to repent of laxity or pride. One example of universal application were those given at St. Peter's in Rome in 1975. But remember the context. Rome is the diocese of the Pope and the center of Catholicism. One might expect prophecies from there to have universal application. In fact, the vast percentage of messages in Medjugorje are calls to holiness. The discussion of their predictive content was largely initiated by a public letter sent to Rome when Fr. Vlasic was pastor in the 1980s. In reality, the vast amount of writings in the Books of the Prophets were not predictive, but corrective, calling Israel to return to Yahweh and the covenant relationship He had established with them.

The web has made it possible to disperse what one considers a prophecy throughout the world, but where is the covering for that? Even in a Charismatic prayer group setting, the leaders bore responsibility to test those who give prophecies. And in our own personal prayer lives, a spiritual director can help one avoid misreading his personal spiritual progress.

For instance, when it comes to Garabandal, I look to the simplicity and obedience of the children over the course of years as a clue of authenticity. If they were misguided by an evil spirit or personal willfulness, then certainly pride would have reared its ugly head.

Be open. Be cautious. Be submissive.

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

    padraig,
I imagine, don't you think, God speaks to each of the three (Protestant, Orthodox Catholic prophetic) in the way each is brought up, their understanding as He explains the one divine plan.

Julie’s personal repeated "before we are completely transformed and brought home." I do not know what Julie means by this exactly but the next thing she states and actually hears more than once from Our Lord: "He allowed me to know that we will experience destructive events, and He also told me that many, many people will die."

No Protestant Rapture. God is going to take home a lot of "spiritual babies" (Protestants) by natural death, remember the GSWYL messages? The first part of the vision given Julie is about, Our Lord will spiritually strengthen and protect the faithful for what is coming. Then Our Lord shares the divine sequence too, the world will be at it worst if God forbid, it be a nuclear just before the "Warning." In Julie's message, a celestial is spoken of as in the Light of Mary messages and other Catholic prophecy, along with the 3 Days of Darkness. That particular "celestial" comes around, happens at the end of the Great Tribulation.

See at the close of the vision/message:

"He told me again, as He has in the past, that during these three days of darkness when the planetary body arrives, the Bride will experience the complete transformation, and those who have been ordained to stay and minister for a short time will do so after this transformation. His Bride then comes home to the Kingdom, as His wrath will be poured out upon the earth."

Fits Catholic prophecy, there will be two celestials, at the time of the Warning and at the end of Tribulation when the celestial, (by fire this time), causing the 3 Days of Darkness, is the Chastisement. The underlined, the faithful will be protected, described prophetically, mystically lifted up in the air. This is the Remnant who will go to the Era of Peace. God's mystical protection at the time of the Chastisement, for a short time, moments maybe, is a Rapture, ha, Catholic though.

Kevin Barrett, another Protestant messenger has been given many messages on, there is no easy, no death, no Cross, Protestant Rapture. Kevin's latest (1/4/18) says it again. Kevin receives teaching messages correcting the heresies. Other corrections in some of Kevin's messages are on Faith Alone, OSAS, Jesus did it all on the Cross Imputation/Penal substitution heresies and the Prosperity Gospel.

Yes, it is true she is not speaking of the Rapture, when she talks of God , 'Calling people home', I take it she means physical death.

There are so many credible Catholic messengers, including Father Gobbi, that I merely ready protestant ones to gauge what they are saying. They add nothing to Catholic prophecy. They leave much to be desired. While I believe God does speak to other religions and denominations split from the Catholic faith, they add nothing. They are vanilla in comparison to what the Mother of God has been revealing in the past 100 years. But I suppose everyone has to start somewhere.
