The Irish online news organ 'The Journal' has a headline today that the United States is standing full square behind the actions of Israel in Gaza and is preparing to supply the latter with more tank ammunition. Think about it, supplying more tank ammunition in a campaign directed almost completely against a civilian population. Of course, they should have plenty tank ammunition to spare since all the tanks they supplied to the Ukraine have no need for it, having been blown up.

It was the Lord Himself who ordered Joshua to put many under the Curse of Destruction because the measure of their iniquity had been filled up. Israeli forces kill two Christian women in Gaza parish, destroy convent: Jerusalem Patriarchate


The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem is reporting that two Catholic women were shot and killed by an Israeli sniper while inside Holy Family Parish in Gaza around the same time an Israeli tank destroyed the Convent of the Sisters of Mother Theresa (Missionaries of Charity)

“One was killed as she tried to carry the other to safety,” the statement read. “Seven more people were shot and wounded as they tried to protect others inside the church compound. No warning was given, no notification was provided. They were shot in cold blood inside the premises of the Parish, where there are no belligerents.”

The Patriarchate also explained that the IDF “destroyed” the Convent’s generator and fuel resources this morning. More than 50 in-need people reside at the home, which the Patriarchate says was designated as a place of worship at the start of the conflict.

“The house was damaged by the resulting explosion and massive fire. Two more rockets, fired by an IDF tank, targeted the same Convent and rendered the home uninhabitable. The 54 disabled persons are currently displaced and without access to the respirators that some of them need to survive.”

Yes, this would be an allegorical interpretation of Biblical Old Testament texts. Bishop Barron says that the Church Fathers (some, most or all I am not sure?) used allegorical interpretation of Old Testament Scripture texts. An example of this is the Curse of Destruction. To interpret this allegorically is to say that it tells us to root out all sin. Do not leave a little bit for it to fester again. We know, as pointed out on another thread that if we are not intolerant to sin and put it under 'the curse of destruction', then we will become habituated to it and it begins to proliferate again; ultimately, we "lose our sense of sin". For example, in the case of lgbtq ideology, I think that while we should love the exponents of it, we should have no truck with it and call them to repentance.
