A friend said recently that it was a good thing the three wise men were not Irish. They would never have seen the star with all the fog these days and nights!

Well it should have been visible in the UK tonight and I went outside after sundown but cloud cover meant it was impossible to see. Tomorrow the planets will still be close. Wil try again.

I live in the south of Brazil and I also couldn't see because the weather was cloudy, in fact I missed seeing a partial solar eclipse on December 14 because of that :cry::cry:

Since you live in Brazil , Luan, can you tell me how is Padre Marcelo Rossi? He seemed to get so very thin over the past few years and I was concerned to see how his appearance was so altered.

Here in Southern Idaho we clearly saw it. And said the Pater Noster per Father Heilman.

I live in Ireland. It never stops raining. It is always cloudy. What are stars? What is the, 'Sun? Is there really such a thing as the, 'Moon'? Why do people talk about things like, 'Blue Skies' and and , 'Lovely day', these things are a myth , there are no such things. All these is is rain and greyness.:):)

I was thinking the same thing that if they were traveling to Maine they would be lost in fog. (Actually sometimes I think most of New England is lost in fog:) all the time)

    Saw the conjunction.

Not as spectacular as I'd anticipated. I've watched the sky since childhood (amateur astronomer), and did anticipate their being even closer.

Venus and Jupiter in same closeness would've been more of a "show."

I tend to agree. Venus is very bright here, and I thought that the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction was about the same
    brightness as Venus alone.

Last year Venus was very very bright. Did anyone else notice that?
