Dittos to the highlights. And “sufficient for a day is its own evil.” Live in the “Sacrament of the Present Moment” and be at peace. Jean Pierre de Caussade was a French Jesuit priest and writer known for his work Abandonment to Divine Providence (also translated as The Sacrament of the Present Moment)
I should add I am not having a poke or dig at anyone just expressing my own point in time, my own spiritual journey with Christ, we mere creatures of habit can be consumed with one thing or another and can become stagnant we miss the point of moving on this journey
I’m right there with you. Years ago I was reading “The Three Ages of the Interior Life - Prelude to Eternal Life” by Father Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, OP and I realized I had become what he described as a “retarded soul.” This is something I have to always be on guard against. And frankly needlessly worrying about dates and prophecies in part led me into it in the first place back then.
My spiritual director for several decades, a Passionist priest named Fr. Silvan, had Fr. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, OP as a professor at seminary in Rome for Mystical and Spiritual Theology, just a few years after the same profession taught a seminarian named Karol Józef Wojtyła. Fr. Silvan gave me Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange’s books and strongly recommended I plow through them.
Perryville, Missouri is also within the x on the map and that is the town where the headquarters of the Association of the Miraculous Medal is located. God is more powerful than satan. I kind of don't think the eclipse paths crossing have a significance. If you ever get a chance to view a total solar eclipse, it is quite wondrous, the stars even appear during the few minutes of totality, the temperature drops by about 10 degrees and it is very wondrous. We drove 500 miles last weekend to see the ring of fire eclipse in Utah. It was pretty amazing.
My first reaction when hearing about this eclipse and the new Madrid fault line was to check whether it fell on Divine Mercy Sunday. Very close the day after - Divine Mercy falls on4/7-24 next year.
Oh, this does not sound good. My sympathy goes out to you. I wonder if the 30 years have anything to do with Garabandal, an apparition that could be from below, not from heaven? This is precisely what worries me about Garabandal - people getting hung up on date-guessing and waiting for the "warning". I think one thing that we can be sure of is that the chastisement is on right now. There is no more need to be guessing dates. Approved apparitions that come with visible miracles, such as Fatima and Akita, converted me from atheism to Catholicism 13 years ago. I have also been aware of Garabandal, but since Joey Lomangino's death in 2014, I have taken a more skeptical stance towards it. Sr. Agnes Sasagawa, the visionary of Akita, astounded me when she published her warning on 6 October 2019 after decades of public silence: "Put on ashes and pray a penitential Rosary daily." This may have come on the day when the "virus" was released from the Wuhan laboratory. Since then, we have seen the pandemic, the "vaccinations", excess mortality, a war between Russia and (essentially) NATO in Ukraine, and now another war. "They" seem to want Armageddon, with Israel, Gaza, then Iran, then United States, then Russia involved. The chastisement is on. Also, anecdotally, I am hearing a lot about recently diagnosed cancers. My father is one such case. He took the "vaccines", and has recently been diagnosed with bladder cancer. I think we are living in the chastisement already. There is no need to be guessing dates anymore. It is beyond sad, it is all so shocking. The best we can do, I think, is to live and to pray and not to worry. We are having a friend of our son over from our traditional Latin Mass parish. They are in the same Football (soccer) team that I am coaching. Last night, we kicked some balls, then had a camp fire and grilled sausages. The boys loved it. Now, they are running around happily.
Other saints have referred to a Warning. It’s not particular to Garabandal, just the constant date guessing.
My hopes for the Warning remain, not so much to avoid a chastisement and its horrific consequences, but for the grace of conversion it would bring to so many souls lost in sin. Nevertheless, what remains for us to do is faithfully live a Catholic life now, and so shed the light of charity and truth in a world shrouded in darkness. Keep those camp fires burning, Michael!
Yes, my son and his friend even caught an eel with their bare hands in a nearby creek and gave it to our neighbor for dinner. It is wonderful to live in a small town now, I have never regretted leaving the big city three years ago. One thing we still need to do is to get water-independent, in case the poo hits the ventilator. Maybe I should simply buy a Berkey filter from the U.S.
Actually no the entirety of approved or non approved, even to read the book of revelation can wear one down probably the best example of this would be St Paul, he himself was totally convinced that Christ would return whilst he was alive.
An astute observation! God is not pleased! O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
