it is not a magic ritual, just as the words of consecration in the Mass are not a kind of spell in bringing about the renewal of the Sacrifice. irrespective of the priest's dignity, although he must be validly ordained and faithfully follow the Missal.

 

The Consecration is not a Sacrament.

Sacramental Theology does not apply.

I never said that the consecration (of Russia) was a sacrament, but I cited an example to show that there are spiritual blessings that derive from the priestly and Petrine ministry, regardless of the dignity of those who hold the office.

 

I expect we won't see right away the graces that are promised. Then again maybe we will. Only God knows but I am preparing my soul for tough times either way. I think Brian's friend made a very good point.

 

I'm just so excited to see so many Bishops participating, including my Bishop in Texas. I don't expect things to change immediately, but so many souls are participating in this consecration I pray God will have mercy on us and hear our prayers! I have been saddened by so many things during Pope Francis pontificate and was surprised/suspicious when he agreed to the consecration as many here. But think how lovely to have this consecration accepted completely by Heaven to usher in the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary by someone ole red legs thought was on his team. God has such a beautiful way of humiliating and confounding the wicked.

Well..edited to add--did you see Steve D's post on the other consecration thread? Taylor Marshall is troubled by the Spanish wording of Our Lady's title. Watch the video. Very disturbing.

 

Padraig your instincts may be right. It seems there is a real problem with the Spanish wording of Our Lady's title as Queen of Heaven and earth. Taylor Marshall examines it. Steve D posted the video on another thread.

 

I'm devastated after reading the first comment beneath the video. I breathed a sigh of relief when Pachamama wasn't included in the long winded lead up to the actual words of consecration. Surely he wouldn't use Fatima and the war in Ukraine to insult the Blessed Mother. This has to be a mistake.

 

I pray it is. I earnestly pray for this to be a terrible mistake but those who speak those languages in the comments say that phrase is very new age and never never used for Our Lady.

Before mass this morning, Friday March 25 in New Zealand, our good and holy curate, asked me to fold and distribute a number of copies of the order of todays service whereby we complied with the expressed wishes of the New Zealand bishops that all Catholic in New Zealand should visit their parish churches today and pray the Rosary in support of the Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to be made tomorrow morning at 5am (5pm Rome time Friday) by Pope Francis.

We prayed the prayer of Pope Francis, Aotearoa New Zealand, united in prayer for the conversion of hearts for peace in our world and an end to the war in Ukraine. Then we prayed the prayer of Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart. Holy Mass was followed by The Luminous Mysteries of the the Rosary each mystery preceded by a meditation from scripture and a short prayer in Maori. The service was concluded with prayers of intercession again with the responses in Maori: E te Ariki, Whakarongo mai ra ki a matou (Lord hear our prayer), a blessing and the Lourdes hymn. We meet again tomorrow morning at 5am to enjoy the live broadcast of The Consecration.

Our Lady has waited many many years for this Consecration. We believe in her promise of peace but we do not know how long we may now have to wait for that to come. The secular press has already mocked and dismissed the Consecration as a useless magic trick. That was to be expected but the power of prayer now permeates the earth and will bear fruit. ((Isaiah 55:10)

As many here know I feel especially blessed to have been given faith in the prophesies of Garabandal. Through them we know that Russia will overrun a great part of the world and cause a time of Tribulation that would be unbearable but for the intervention of The Warning. Tribulation proper will take off after the Pope returns to The Vatican from Moscow. Many believe that he will go to Moscow in a last ditch attempt to broker peace but that he will fail in that mission and the time of horrendous suffering will follow. Only The Warning will be able to shorten that time and will prepare the world for the conversion of hearts and minds to be made manifest by the power of God in the Great Miracle of Garabandal. It has been suggested that even The Warning and the Miracle may not be enough for true and lasting conversion. So we are pretty sure that the immediate effect of the Consecration will not be a lasting peace nor the finality of triumph of The Immaculate Heart. That is still to come.

So I ask why do this Consecration? Jesus gave the answer to Sr. Lucy. "Because I want My whole Church to acknowledge that consecration as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so that it may extend its homage LATER ON and put the devotion to this Immaculate Heart beside the devotion to My Sacred Heart." So we have to wait, but meantime we pray, Meantime we join our Pope in his consecration of Russia and its victim Ukraine to The Immaculate Heart of Mary. I hope this lessens your discouragement.
