If it's a title for Our Lady used by Byzantine Catholics, perhaps the reason for the inverted commas was that the title was not for translation and the translates made a mistake and their efforts fell short of the meaning of the title in its original language. (I'm clutching at straws but that is a possibility if it's an ancient title that loses its meaning when translated into modern languages".

Our Local Traditional Church is doing the Consecration at 4pm. The service is continuing to 6:30 when they are having mass. I suppose then we would have to be in Church for 3 and a half hours which seems very long.

I don't see it that way. I'll be in the cathedral offering this prayer along with my bishop, fully aware that the pope and bishops are the ones actually consecrating Russia. My presence there is to be united in intention with the Church, another voice calling out to Mary in atonement. It's like the faithful uniting their own hearts to Christ as He's offered to the Father during the Consecration at Mass. We're uniting with our bishop, not consecrating Russia ourselves. I'm pretty sure most people understand that.

THE Consecration of Russia on March 25th, 2022 is a monumental event, insofar as it fulfills the explicit request of Our Lady of Fatima.vatican.va

However, it would be a mistake to believe this is akin to waving some kind of magic wand that will cause all our troubles to disappear. No, the Consecration does not override the biblical imperative that Jesus clearly proclaimed:

Repent, and believe in the gospel. (Mark 1:15)

Will a period of peace come if we remain at war with one another – in our marriages, families, neighbourhoods and nations? Is peace possible while the most vulnerable, from the womb to the Third World, are daily victims of injustice?

Peace is not merely the absence of war, and it is not limited to maintaining a balance of powers between adversaries. Peace cannot be attained on earth without safeguarding the goods of persons, free communication among men, respect for the dignity of persons and peoples, and the assiduous practice of fraternity. Peace is “the tranquillity of order.” Peace is the work of justice and the effect of charity. —Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 2304

This is why the “reparation of First Saturdays” was also part of Our Lady’s request — a call to the People of God to lead the world in repentance.

And yet, we should take Our Lady at her word: a “period of peace” will come — but not as Heaven had hoped. Again:

Cancer in its earliest stages can easily be dealt with; but when it metastasizes, it requires major surgery and treatment protocols.
