Yes. I agree. Their concept of choice only runs one way. Make the "countercultural" choice and you are "irresponsible" a "fanatic" a "betrayer of women" etc. I will always be grateful for the grace to choose life. We all miss so much in our world. And I am including me as possibly the most clueless....LOL. We have miracles all around us, everyday. And the Lord speaks to us and is involved with us everyday, often. We are so caught up with distractions, we miss 90%. The saints seem to be more tuned in, their holiness. That is the key. That is what I wake up and ask for every morning during my morning prayers. But I fail miserably. I am so thankful for the very few nuggets of clarity I have had in my life.

Over the winter after a ice storm too almost did me in. My dear guardian angel caught me and saved me as I was falling/ tripping and surely would have broken something. It may seem a little thing for some, but it isn’t for me. Long story.... But, I was spared.....and I immediately recognized to whom I owed the credit to. Every day we probably encounter seemingly “ little “ miracles and we need to thank God for these. When we have a bad day, you needn’t look too far to recognize that there is someone close by that is dealing with a cross so heavy that you know you should march right in And help them carry theirs. You may be their miracle....opportunities are everywhere. It doesn’t take much to find them.
Well Tanker I could have written this! I pray to be aware and purposeful but like you I feel I miss many Grace's and chances to make sacrificial offerings. I remember St Teresa saying lay people can only progress at a snail's pace. certainly true in my case.

It disappoints me greatly, but any chaplain who ministers in a hospital or nursing home here in New York State is required to get a flu shot every year which is then highlighted on one's ID badge. That has been the case ever since I've been involved in ministry. And yes, such a vaccine is created to address certain strains of virus. It ends up being a "hit and miss" situation, but the manufacturers love it. Big business. And the advertising is incessant! Lord have Mercy!

The Chinese side has particularly bolstered its presence in the Galwan Valley, erecting around 100 tents in the last two weeks and bringing in heavy equipment for construction of bunkers, notwithstanding the stiff protest by Indian troops, they said. There have been reports of multiple incidents of transgressions by Chinese troops in several areas in Eastern Ladakh in the last one week, and soldiers from the two sides were involved in scuffles on at least two occasions, authoritative sources said. It is learnt that the Chinese army forcefully stopped movement of Indian troops on several occasions when they were carrying out patrolling in Pangong Tso lake area this week. In the midst of the escalating tension, Army Chief Gen MM Naravane paid a quiet visit to the headquarters of 14 Corps in Leh on Friday and reviewed with the top commanders the overall security scenario in the region including in the disputed areas along the LAC, the de-facto border between India and China. The sources said the Indian Army has been matching up to the Chinese build-up in both Pangong Tso lake and Galwan Valley and that it is in a much advantageous position in certain other sensitive areas in the region. The Indian troops are also resorting to "aggressive patrolling" in several sensitive areas including Demchok and Daulat Beg Oldi, they said. The situation in Eastern Ladakh deteriorated after around 250 Chinese and Indian soldiers were engaged in a violent face-off on the evening of May 5 which spilled over to the next day before the two sides agreed to "disengage" following a meeting at the level of local commanders. Over 100 Indian and Chinese soldiers were injured in the violence. The incident in Pangong Tso was followed by a similar incident in North Sikkim on May 9. In the last one week, local commanders of both the sides held at least five meetings during which the Indian side took strong note of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) erecting a large numbers of tents in areas in Galwan Valley which India felt belonged to its side of the LAC, the sources said. The Lord seems to be allowing us all, to experience some small type of trial/suffering/distress each day....... and yet I have a real sense that these crosses are being used to either counter an evil attack on another "person" or to earn the grace of conversion, for another "person". I also believe these other "person's" are in-fact family members that we are constantly praying for! You and me and probably over 90% of this forum are specifically praying each day for "our children, grandchildren and other family members" and God no doubt, is hearing these constant requests for conversion and protection. He gives us these trials (bad days) so we can offer up these crosses to Him, (in union with our prayers of petition) because suffering proves the gold, purify's the intent, and brings to fruition our requests! Prayer of petition...... is the request, the seed and soil preparation! But it is the suffering, "the Cross", that produces the growth, the flower and the fruit, which God can apply, as a grace of protection and/or conversion to the souls we are praying for. Thank You Dearest Lord for hearing our prayers and providing the means, where we can participate with you, for the salvation of souls.
